A simple question here, I'm sure I heard a comment about appointing a manager who'd never been relegated as wasn't 'tainted'. Surely that rules Harry out straight away because, frankly, what's the difference between Harry and Big Sam in that regard?

Meanwhile, I'm off to take the dog a walk...

A) it doesn't take big money to cause that

B) it's AUTOMATED anyway! There's not some little chap sat there thinking "oooo look £10 on Holloway, lets slash the odds"

Different bookies have different exposures and different criteria mechanisms to adjust their odds or suspend the market (just as bank and credit card companies have in regards to lending / risk).

For a bookie of Stan James' size to suspend its market, they would have pretty good reason.

Hmmm.....I think you may catch some of the usual suspects with that Sam bait Mr Ivan ;)

Shebby singh announcement on ssn tonight? Or shaw getting it done and dusted whilst shebys away. Surely ralfinhos comment wouldn't generate enough cash to close the maket on IH?

If a sudden flood of bets start coming in on something like this they would close the book. The difference between a bet like this and a bet on a sports result is it's a lot easier to 'fix' (for lack of a better word) because there will be people who will know who the next manager will be before the bookies or public do.

I doubt the odd tenner here and there would make the bookie suspend betting. Thousands yeah

The Footballers Football Show is recorded, Shebby left Sky studios over two hours ago

Nothing interesting said I take it

Or nothing to embarrass us?

It's not just based on the amount of cash being placed but the number of bets as well. The bookies always use a better safe than sorry attitude, if say 200 bets came through all at 50p and they they think "oh well we'll leave the book open because it's only small amounts" then there is a risk the next few bets will be for big money so they close it to prevent that.

I have money in betfred and they are not taking bets on Holloway :(

As a number of people seem to be betting just passing on that I was at Ewood, talking to a middle manager today.

He /She said Shebby, Agnew and Shaw had their own prefered list of potential, managers ringing them independently and it was chaos. Rovers looking a basket case

Realistically with the Venkeys in charge this sounds closer to the truth
