Baz Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 My source tells me we will have a new manager in by middle of next week. Prove it :-) Personally if Arry is leading us on to entice QPR or Southampton, I'd take Hughes or Adkins in return.

Backroom Tom Posted October 25, 2012 Backroom Posted October 25, 2012 It's worrying they Shebby still seems determined to find his next Mourinho, he needs to realise that for every Special One there are 10 Paul Inces and 20 Steve Keans!
Amo Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 You've got to be a bit 'special' to work for Venky's, no?
Veevs Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It's worrying they Shebby still seems determined to find his next Mourinho, he needs to realise that for every Special One there are 10 Paul Inces and 20 Steve Keans! Personally reckon the guy is a one off, never played professional football, started the road to his career at UNI level with sports science then ended up learning the man management from one of the all-time great man managers in Sir Bobby Robson... all in all a very unique set of events/people backed by an extremely intelligent, determined and confident individual in the special one himself. OGS is the closest I can think of given his attention to detail and years of learning with SAF but even then he will be a different style of manager to Mourinho. How Shebby could even dream of turning the like of Sherwood or McKinley into the next Jose is laughable, for a start Shebby isn't SAF, Sir Bobby or Van Gaal, secondly it took Mourinho how many years of study to move into management and thirdly those two ex players don't exactly hold degrees in sports science.... he would be far far better off getting an experienced manager in with a protoge.
Steve Moss Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Shebby is a fantasist if he thinks he's qualified to discover and develop the next Mourinho. Where do Venkys find these people?
Amo Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 On come on, are you really unable to see through the b*llshit? All this waffle about 'finding the next best thing' is just his pretext for hiring an inexperienced yes-man.
RoverScot Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It's worrying they Shebby still seems determined to find his next Mourinho, he needs to realise that for every Special One there are 10 Paul Inces and 20 Steve Keans! Perhaps he keeps getting negative vibes from the clandestine meetings he and Shaw have been (allegedly) having with managers such as Holloway, Grayson, Hill who would rather Shebby not be there if they take over the job. Thats also why they keep having secret interviews (allegedly) with these managers but then nothing happens from it. Shebby then proceeds unilaterally to approach clubs for coaches such as Sherwood and McKinlay and gets nowhere himself. I think Shebby may make an exception for Redknapp as a 'wise old head' and go for him but otherwise it is possible to infer Garry Flitcroft is his next 'Mourinho' pick. Whilst this is going on inside Shebby's head, Derek Shaw(or others at the club) are doing proper things like hiring Stuart Ripley to do the legal work for the potential compensation package to Blackpool for Holloway(and possibly other candidates?)
RevidgeBlue Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 My source tells me we will have a new manager in by middle of next week. That'll be exactly the same as Shebby claimed on the show tonight then. Thanks for sharing that pearl of insight.
Amo Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 That'll be exactly the same as Shebby claimed on the show tonight then. Thanks for sharing that pearl of insight. Tough crowd.
RevidgeBlue Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Rovers vs Palace for Holloway http://www.mirror.co...olloway-1399049 Sounds like Nixon is just making it up as he goes along reading that. 1) Firstly, how can Holloway be thinking about saving on long commutes up to Lancashire by accepting a job with Palace. Thought he'd just bought a house in Lytham. So it'd be the other way round. 2 ) I thought Nixon had previously claimed that Holloway has a low price release clause in his contract. 500k was the figure mentioned I think. So how could Blackpool ask for more?
USABlue Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I apologise if I'm asking a ridiculous question but I've been away. Where are we up to with regards to the 30 plus fantastic candidates that had apparantly applied for the job? (as per Singh & Shaw) When I read we had approached Billy McKinlay (FFS) I am right in the assumption that the 'list' are all deemed to be not up to standard? No they are just not what SHEBBY thinks we need.
iamarover Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I am hoping that the visit of Shabby Dingbat to Sky, and the re-emergence of a Sky Bet market with Harry a hot favourite, is not a coincidence. http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specials
bypass06 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I worked at Nelson Imperial occassionally and when the tag team contests were on, I looked after the Royals, Bert Royal and Vic Faulkner!! My brother worked at KGH, And one night Alan Denison "broke" his leg, He was carried out the ring on a stretcher to the dressing room, Where he preceded to get changed, and driven to his next gig.
neophox Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Some here say Mark Hughes but is he doing well with QPR? Don't think so.....I'd go for Harry Redknapp with Tim Sherwood as assistant or Ian Holloway!

Blue n White Rover Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 That'll be exactly the same as Shebby claimed on the show tonight then. Thanks for sharing that pearl of insight. It was meant to be a joke Rev. Cheer up.

Blue n White Rover Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It sounds like they havent accepted the bet. Which is a blessing in disguise. Judan has never been in the running.
bypass06 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It sounds like they havent accepted the bet. I rang them, and the bet is on, just need to prove i'm over 18. Also my bank statement shows £10 to BetVictor.
Rover_Shaun Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 You may as well of flushed a tenner down the bog
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 They will just run a big overdraft up then sell a player or two and shove a few off the wage bill when the bank in India start getting tetchy. Just like last time. We've almost run out of players any other club would want to pay any sort of fee for.
alexanders Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I rang them, and the bet is on, just need to prove i'm over 18. Also my bank statement shows £10 to BetVictor. The problem will just come if you have to withdraw money if you win. Then you probably have to show ID to get the money. Dont worry though. The money is long gone.
my_name_is_Earl Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 @sportingintel: I'm told #Rovers have already met Holloway (secretly, so keep it quiet) and Shebby Singh decided against an official approach. Rethinking? By re-thinking, I think he means Shebby is now re-thinking his decision about turning Holloway down. There is no secret here though, I believe it is one reason why we may have to pay a larger sum in comp. Also, don't forget Holloway will want a decent contract, including bonuses. There is no chance he will be off to Palace unless his relationship with Oyston completely breaks down simply because they can not afford him, even with Freedman comp. The Mirror article appears to be a smokescreen to get Venky's moving...
Rover_Shaun Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 We've almost run out of players any other club would want to pay any sort of fee for. What about Orr? Every club needs a shameless bumlicker
