roversfan99 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I'd let any new manager choose their own backroom staff but having Black would be helpful originally because he knows the players (apart from Vukcevic) well. Saying that though if it was between two of the new manager's chosen staff or Salgado and Tugay I would have to go for the latter.....Friedel as GK coach once he retires. I disagree with that last part. A manager should be able to bring in people who he works the best with, who he is comfortable around and who will get the best out of him and the team. Whilst an ex-player has an emotional attatchment, you needn't look further than Colin Hendry to see that a former icon does in no way guarantee success. Look at Hughes and Allardyce in recent times here, both allowed to bring in a full backroom team including Sports Science and people they know and trust.
Blue Cabbage Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Mullans just tweeted he reckons Holloway will leave Blackpool but doubts it will be to us.... Anyone?
Pugg Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 so I've placed a large amount in him yesterday tea time Sounds painful.
John Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Mullans just tweeted he reckons Holloway will leave Blackpool but doubts it will be to us.... Anyone? Palace and Dingle fans both seem to think they have very strong chance of getting him.
Blue Cabbage Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Well this keaning around better be worth it. But will it? Hmmmm......
unsall Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Mullans just tweeted he reckons Holloway will leave Blackpool but doubts it will be to us.... Anyone? Quite agree,Holloway and Shebby won't happen, still think Robinson, even though he's fav for Palace or someone similar to him!!
roverandout Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 glen doesnt know everything, probably just his personal opinion
True Blue & White Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 If we end up paying £500k to release Holloway, does he get £25k under the clause whereby he gets 5% of all Blackpool's tranfer fees?
roverandout Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 kamy thinks we are strongly in the running, he has good contacts, i would rather go by what kamy and nicko are saying
Blue Cabbage Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Fair enough, just seen it that's all, it's been a slow news day, game or no game tomorrow!!
True Blue & White Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Venky's do like balding clowns so I he'd fit the profile.
martonrover Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Quite agree,Holloway and Shebby won't happen, still think Robinson, even though he's fav for Palace or someone similar to him!! If we pass up Holloway for Robinson Shebby will not be forgiven.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I disagree with that last part. A manager should be able to bring in people who he works the best with, who he is comfortable around and who will get the best out of him and the team. Look at Hughes and Allardyce in recent times here, both allowed to bring in a full backroom team including Sports Science and people they know and trust. I know what you're saying it's just my heart rules my head when it comes to Salgado and Tugay.....but a large factor is Tugay apparently doing a good job at Galatasaray and how Salgado's punditry skills demonstrate his great reading of the game. Hendry wasn't good at Blackpool so I see it differently.....as good as Hendry was, his personal issues will cloud his character and despite being younger Salgado and Tugay would probably command more respect. But it's not like I'd be unhappy if neither of them came.
roverandout Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 as i said yesterday, singh has had his chance and blew it big time, why is this joker still involved in the manager search? hes an arse, who doesnt know it from his elbow, let shaw take over and bring us a proper manager now and not some novice like robinson or mckinley
Dunnfc Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Glad I'm not the only one regarding black even if it was just short term. He's earned his chance to at least be considered! Hope we don't lose tommorow! If holloway and harry and shuster my number one gone then give it blacl

Not only have they got to be good coaches but you want the manager to be able to work with people whom he trusts and feels can do what he can't, I would be happier if a manager just brought in a backroom team that he knew and wanted, rather than a token gesture of a former player.
roverandout Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 i still wouldnt give it black, i would search through the lower reaches of hell before i would offer it to black
yoda's brother Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Glad I'm not the only one regarding black even if it was just short term. He's earned his chance to at least be considered! Hope we don't lose tommorow! If holloway and harry and shuster my number one gone then give it blacl shows how desperate we are getting
roverandout Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 after all this we are back full u-turn to black, just shows what a mess this club is in and how corrupt it is
broadsword Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It's just a case of waiting now FFS, what was it before then? We've been waiting for 1 month now.
roverandout Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 ipswich interviewing shearer mccarthy, burnley looking at holloway, bolton appointed freedman, crystal palace looking at the likes of holloway and other good managers, all will probably be done within days and our joke of a club takes over 4 weeks whilst trying to appoint the likes of flitcoft, mckinley and robinson. Makes you sick!!!
