1mattjansen Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I know London Branch meeting at the William Stanley, Selhurst, ( near Norwood Junction Station). sweet. thanks for that. im getting off at norwood so ill head there. if not have a little scout about.
Craigman Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Could we possibly do a poll for each match before the game ? So we can all predict a win, draw or defeat. I am going for a 2-1 win tomorrow. Rhodes and Dann.
jim mk2 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Watched Brighton v Leeds tonight. Diouf is in excellent form and scored another goal for Leeds confirming the stupid decision to let him go. As for Palace, agree with those who say it is a nailed-on defeat. Cue calls for Berg's resignation soon after the final whistle.
dwayne cage Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Haven't been keeping up The Palace get Holloway?
Kelbo Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Watched Brighton v Leeds tonight. Diouf is in excellent form and scored another goal for Leeds confirming the stupid decision to let him go. As for Palace, agree with those who say it is a nailed-on defeat. Cue calls for Berg's resignation soon after the final whistle. If the side is set up correctly and play to the very best of their ability, nothing is nailed on, remember one thing here, some of these lads are playing for their places now and simply have to perform, a 4-4-2 formation without question, will get the best out of Murphy, Etuhu and Rhodes!!
wampam Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 how strange this defeatism. we should manage a draw at least. let us be positive. personally i expect a big win. more than that i think one or two players may surpass themselves. really looking forward. palace 1 rovers 4
RevidgeBlue Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Would that be the dismal 3 centre back formation that has steadied a porous defence and delivered almost as many clean sheets in Black's five-week reign as in 2 years under Kean ? Indeed it would. The one that yielded only 4 goals from 6 games and the one that returned a significantly worse points per game ratio than under Kean.
Eddie Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Significantly worse? Kean - 2 per game Black - 1.5 per game Considering the fact that Black had less than 24 hours to prepare for one of the draws and the sample-size is so small (7 games versus 6 games) it is hardly a tremendous difference. You could just as easily argue that it took him a couple of weeks to have the changes start to take hold (the first 3 matches produced 2 points) and then was able to really influence the side towards the end of his caretaker spell (7 points and two clean sheets from the last 3). The draws were killer, but Berg can build on the improved defense and try to get Rhodes and the other attackers more involved in the matches. I'm optimistic for this one and hopeful that we will pick up the three points.
jim mk2 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Indeed it would. The one that yielded only 4 goals from 6 games and the one that returned a significantly worse points per game ratio than under Kean. Black took over a side that has shipped goals for 2 years and had one of the worst defensive records in the club's history last season. Everyone except Kean knew the defence has been our weakest link and Black corrected it.
Ewood Spark Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 is there a pub people have in mind before hand? The Cherry Tree is literally across the road from Norwood Junction station. It would be worth popping your head in there as this was always a good meeting place for Rovers fans. Not many pubs near the ground ... If you are going to arrive early it may be worth getting off at East Croyden. Much more choice in Croyden and then you can catch a train to Selhurst with the locals, closer to kick-off.
Earlydoors Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Don't understand the pessimism on here. Crystal lets give our opponents a 2 goal lead and then see if we can win the game Palace? Come on, easy victory 2-0 Rovers
Mc Love Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Hoping for a rovers win and a first for Berg!
Stuart Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Black took over a side that has shipped goals for 2 years and had one of the worst defensive records in the club's history last season. Everyone except Kean knew the defence has been our weakest link and Black corrected it. This is a fallacy. We may have put numbers back there but it hasn't been "corrected". Our last two matches have been clean sheets because of extraordinarily poor finishing from the opposition. Black has been very lucky in his spell in charge (Napoleonic?). It has been good for us but let's not kid ourselves that the defence is fixed and Berg can immediately build on it. There is work still to do.
Clitherover Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I hope Henley has another cracker so that Kean's best buddy Orr never has to pull on a Rovers jersey again.Harsh, but fair. this
BRFC1995 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 i fully expect berg to get a grip of our fullback positions, and the defence in general i would have thought Hendry would have been some use but evidently ain't the sharpest tool in the box. I'll be amazed and disappointed if our back 4 now resembles what goes out on the pitch in May. 3-2 rovers, Rhodes to watch shearer highlights reel and bang 2 crackers in from distance
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted November 3, 2012 Moderation Lead Posted November 3, 2012 On a slightly unrelated note- Rovers fans on Soccer Am this morning, I recognise the big lad (top left in LB stand) from a few away games!!
booth Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 First time in a while in actually looking forward to a game. Wish I could watch it but the radio will have to do.
booth Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 It's no surprise. He was always going to leave.
G Somerset Rover Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Who will be in charge for Palace today? Setting off in a bit, lets get the 3 points lads!
watford-rover Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 im leaving in about an hour, cant wait for this one. 3 points and henning gets off to a great start hopefully
