dubdubdub Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Yeah I coach football and you are told to play the way your are facing thats true. However at a higher standard he should know whether he has the time to turn and play wide or forward, not just play the ball directly back. To be fair on occasion it is needed to retain possession and I understand what you are saying about needing a shout from someone, but he does it almost all the time. It's not hard to have a quick look round as you're recieving a pass. He should be generally aware of how far away he is from the nearest person too. I listened on Rover's player and it sounded like quite a few attacks broke down through Formica.

Clitherover Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 My bet still stands with your fan from Norway. I firmly believe that Huddersfield Town will finish this season above Blackburn. I think with the exception of Rhodes our squad is simply better than yours. We were missing out cutting edge last night with Vaughan and Beckford out. If either had played, I would have put money on the score being 3-1 to Town (with Rhodes getting your consolation goal). Your squad is no great shakes in this league and certainly not a cut above the rest. You like Huddersfield and 15 other teams in the league have a decent squad for the championship but that is it. Your problem seems to be that your squad is very unbalanced and overall all I would much rather have the Huddersfield squad. Garbage, we outplayed you at your own ground and should have won. I don't think you're a bad side but you reckon all your players would get into the Rovers team?, You're either a very passionate but deluded fan or a complete mug, I'm starting to think the latter tbh. As said earlier wait for the return fixture at Ewood, we're a club in transition at the moment but when the players are fully performing under Berg you'll be playing a completely different side, I wouldn't fancy your chances much Ben.
trueblueroversiloveu Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Ben the squad that was on show last night compared to youres are worlds apart. When were up to scratch this squad will put up a serious challenge for promotion. Tell me how are huddersfield divisional rivals. Tell me one way we don't absolutely drown you're club. Not a single member of the huddersfield staff would turn down blackburn rovers. Crap fans too
Rover_Shaun Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Whats all this petty bickering? Town are the best team in Huddersfield and occassionally Rovers are the best team in Blackburn

After all you were 110% positive he would not go !
diziet2 Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Garbage, we outplayed you at your own ground and should have won. Town were by far the better team in the first half and were deservedly 1 nil up. A bit of Rhodes magic leveled it for you but you were lucky not to be further behind. The ref gave a shocking decision for the penalty. Lynch took that ball cleanly never touching your man. He dived and the ref brought it. A terrible decision. Town presently have our 2 main strikers out and so are a little bit short up front. Grayson decided to go more direct with Alan lee coming on. This conceded our towns midfield dominance to you in return for more presence up front. You did nowt with it and we were happy to allow you to pass it around in non threatening areas, to draw you onto us and then counter attack you. Proof of this the few shots you had in the 2nd half were 30yard pot shots that smithies has no problem dealing with. We finally got our deserved equaliser. If the ref had not given that penalty, we'd had continued to dominate you in the centre and run the game and would probably have won 2-1. you have the ref to thank for your point last night. In a return fixture, I have no doubts that we'd batter you. Especially with Vaughan, Beckford and Jack hunt providing all those crosses back in the team. You were lucky you played us when we were severely weakened.
Bizarre Gardening Accident Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 I used to argue about football like this back in my paper round years.
chris_h Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Arguing with Huddersfield Town supporters about who is the better side is a stark indication of just how far we have plummeted over the last two years.
diziet2 Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Arguing with Huddersfield Town supporters about who is the better side is a stark indication of just how far we have plummeted over the last two years. And I think you would firmly agree that town was the better side. Good lad.
Gav Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 And I think you would firmly agree that town was the better side. Good lad. You started off being a decent poster from an opposition team with good points and an alternative view which was very welcome, now you come across as a bitter individual with an axe to grind, sad really.
thenodrog Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Stupid bloody argument. Imo they are both crap teams chock full of massively overpaid players. Arguing the best of a bad bunch is not very clever is it?
bazza Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Back to the game. I didn't go and I really appreciate the posts on this thread. I feel optimistic now after reading that most think Berg is gradually turning the ship around. Can't wait for Saturday and Brum.

Here here....time to go now Ben1142 I'm afraid to say.....first of all, none of us really give a f##k about Huddersfield.....secondly, you made over 100 tedious posts saying the same reasons over and over again why Rhodes wouldn't ever come to us.....then he did, obviously for all the money he was getting like we warned you of, and it made you look even more ridiculous.....like someone else said, you're still as condescending as ever and it's a bore to read. Also, your first goal was a foul.....and my brother went to uni with a H'field fan who today told him that we were the better team and you were just forced to knock it long when you had little chance of creating chances normally.

Gael Givet David Dunn Colin Kazim Richards Leon Best Nuno Gomes Jason Lowe All of those are at least equal the players you list and we had out injured You were lucky you played us severely weakened Also you say all this about the game and who bossed who and you weren't even there (nor was i myself)

But...but...they didn't have James Vaughan!! Remember that!
thenodrog Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Also, your first goal was a foul..... First goal was a massive and very obvious foul on Hanley by the Huddersfield scorer Novak, however imo it was never a penalty for our second and depending who headed the ball on for Huddersfield's last gasp equaliser from the 'hoofball' I'd estimate Novak the scorer was offside.

We ended up arguing with a sheep worryer outside who started agressivly with same argument, with my nephew and 14 year old lad.I told him how many we had out as well and he started getting getting grumpy until i told him id put him on his arse if he come any closer to the kids i had with me,
Ewood Spark Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Pleased that Murphy scored last night. It was a big decision for him to take the penalty. At the time I was screaming "Give it to Rhodes" ... but in hindsight he made the right call, knowing that the Huddersfield keeper would have intimate knowledge of Jordan's penalty taking nuances! A moment that brightened the subdued atmosphere on the journey home. I had switched the radio from 5-Live (wall-to-wall American election coverage) to Talks**t, just in time to hear an interview with Dingle-of-the-moment Charlie Austin. He was asked who his childhood hero was, to which he answered, without a moments hesitation "Alan Shearer" !!!! Hope he doesn't send his wife out for the chips tonight!
JAL Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 And I think you would firmly agree that town was the better side. Good lad. I'd say equal Ben after last night, but financially, you guys are now 8m better off than us after encountering Blackburn Rovers 2012.
tomphil Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 I'd say equal Ben after last night, but financially, you guys are now 8m better off than us after encountering Blackburn Rovers 2012. Incidentally what did Town actually do with the 8 million we gave for Rhodes, seeing as their chairman is already loaded ?
Salgado Is A Hero Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Incidentally what did Town actually do with the 8 million we gave for Rhodes, seeing as their chairman is already loaded ? It turns out they didn't really need to reinvest it because Rhodes; was over-rated, didn't do anything in most games, Huddersfield actually play better without him, and was essentially just a poor man's James Vaughan.
DeadlyDirk Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 What a refreshing change, arguing with an opposition supporter about the game rather than arguing with ourselves about the manager, the players or the fans! Down with Huddersfield, booooo!! You suck!
rovermagic Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 In terms of stats and by most commentaries we did outplay Huddersfield. Against Palace last Sat I was surprised by Rochina's strength. He's quick enough too. Quicker than Formica and Rhodes. With players returning from injury Formica should not be in team.
