Vukcevic.

He can pretty much play across midfield. Decent passer, likes to arrive late in the box, takes people on. Stick him with someone like Lowe in the centre and we might actually create something.

Agreed....would like to see those two in the middle vs Cardiff with Martin Olsson and Kazim on the wings.....Nuno Gomes and Rhodes up top.

We need to start playing the ball along the floor.....Nuno Gomes and Rhodes will keep possession between them like that, but not if we hoof it long.

Did King cut inside today? Or go out wide and look to get crosses in the box? Or both? Or just merely take players on and see where he ended up?

Jury still very much out.

But as I have posted before, Berg is the best with a pile of utter rubbish everywhere he looks at Ewood- owners, directors, global adviser etc etc.

As for where Berg was on the list, he was hardly even on it!

Happened to have been interviewed when Shebby totally panicked after being deservedly ripped to shreds by Harry Redknapp's people (and it wasn't just a matter of 'arry ego, Shebby had made an horrific mistake).

PLease do elaborate.

Heres my two penneth, I saw something today which gave me real hope, I am a Berg fan and agree he has to start getting results and quickly or our season may be well over, however, I saw the defence with a resiliance I havent seen since the 'Flowers Bottle game' against Newcastle, the central defenders put their heads and bodies on the line to defend, not seen that before for many years, quite important, we have a striker who will score if given the service, now, in my opinion a wide player who can cross the ball and a box to box midfielder similar to Flitty and we may have a team here, Best to come back too and Adam Henley looks the business, wasnt fazed today, can defend and get forward, a proper full back, we arent far short of a team, despite what some may think but as I said earlier, Berg has to start getting results and quickly!

what the hell are you doing, how dare you point out something positive, don't you know it's daggers for Berg time, he has to go, he's useless, least that is what I am being told. Thanks for removing some of the doom and gloom.

Rev has a really valid point too, some of the "old gaurd" should have been gone. There is a malignancy still I think that is undermining Berg. Remember the walk on water boss HUghes did it with Tony Parkes. Henning needs to clear housem I might keep Black but the rest chop em.

I can see the arguement for giving Berg at least one window to prove his worth. The problem is the club, and we a know this anyway, have made promotion the target. Going up is crucial.

For me the January window will come too late for Berg to make an impact. We have five remaining games this month and four in January. Given our very poor decision making on any signing it's likely to be late January, if at all, before we sign a player. Next it will be we have to bed these new players in - which seems to take half a season these days, what a load if rollicks that is.

If we are to have a chance of promotion I feel Henning must first put together a serious run in December, 12 points minimum, and secondly line up his targets early so we can sign them in the first week of January.

I could imagine us putting a run together, it happens, but the signings won't in time. I feel sorry for Henning, his target is promotion, he doesn't have the players or the time to achieve it.

The interesting thing will be how Venkys react, history suggests they will prevaricate and fail to make a decision in time.

Shebby has told us Venkys were not told the truth previously. I can't help but wonder how realistic the reports they receive from the club are now?

Don't believe that for a second. They knew exactly what was going on and were told so directly by numerous people. The 'helpless naive bumbling fools' portrayal is just more spin.

if the window is too late and we aren't near the chasing pack what happens if a bid from a prem club comes in at say around 12 million for Rhodes

I can also but it's also possible for the sides directly below us Burnley included all the way down to 16th to put the run together as IMO it's a poor league

Yes Venkys will screw up any decision as we well know

Shebby is a liar who couldn't even sack Kean and is loving the attention and has hoodwinked quite a few fans...he should be no where near BRFC the owners have always known whats going on...

we are capable of going on a run for a play off push or promtion charge in December but it has to start on Friday V Cardiff but so are half a dozen or so other sides as IMO it's a poor league but even at this stage it's going to be difficult to catch the top 2 .

We all know the clubs finances are not the best , some are saying give Berg the window but will Venkys be preperared to spend in the window or will we have to shift on deadwood 1st or even worse what happens if a Prem club comes in with 12 million for Rhodes - I think we all know the answer to that one..Then if Berg is allowed to sign players and not someone else signing them they need time to bed in as another poster said the in comings need to be done beginning of jan so thjey can bed in but with venkys decision making we know this won't happen...the next couple of games are massive we need wins as we are currently 4 points adrift of the play offs and can't fall further behind..

BTW what happened to all those portugese players that no one signed are they back on a beach somewhere...

Lowe has never been a creative player.

Who's the box to box midfielder? Honestly.

We havent got one, have to find one from somewhere, there will be some around if we look hard enough, a couple of years ago I mentioned Howson at Leeds, he's made the transition to PL quite well, the lad Stock at Burnley was useful yesterday, plied his trade in the lower leagues and Doncaster, they are around, just have to do some good scouting!

What have you been sniffing because it's not based on anything we've witnessed in the last 2 years :D

That would be a good stat for Mercerman's spreadsheet.

Of the top 6 teams at the end of the last 3 Championship seasons, what position was each in by Christmas?

Most thought our 33 year old record was going yesterday. It didn't, despite a poor first half and a bottler of a ref, so there is still hope.

The trouble with football fans is they have short memories. I can still remember the gut-wrenching feeling of going to a game last season, and the mixed feelings when we had to share a victory - or even a goal - with Mr Positive.

Surely people are happier watching Berg get to grips with shaping the current squad in his image, rather than watching Coco continue to drag our squad further down to his level.

Berg is having to work with the unbalanced, lightweight, unfit squad that Kean left us with. They look as though they got away with murder last season as far as fitness and it'll take a while to get that back.

Even pre-season (a supposedly vital time for footballers) was a psychological nonsense of a fixture list, against supposed minnows, and even that backfired. It didn't motivate or stretch the players and it's left them flakey and unable to see out games.

Fixing the last 2 years in 7 games would be a miracle.

Yet Coco's record this season with them is stuff of dreams for Berg.

And what happened in the last 3 seasons, or 53 for that matter, is irrelevant. This team couldn't run a bath let alone have a run of wins

It's an observation that it's still possible in a poor league but it needs to happen if it's going to with a win v cardiff followed by Blackpool then just maybe we can on that run but in all probabilities it isn't going to happen as come on only for a couple of last gap blocks and 2 good Robbo saves we'd have lost yesterday

Your dreams maybe. Besides I don't believe it would have lasted though.

I work with a Burnley fan who is only too happy to share stats AGAINST Rovers with me, I don't need it from supposed Rovers fans.

And thanks for proving my point: my suggestion is just as relevant as an arbitrary sequence of 7 results against different teams. There's only one stat that really matters and we're months away from getting that one.

Keep the faith! :brfc:

Kelbo has Berg got the contacts to get players in even if they've been scouted and will be allowed to.. As I am still surprised he hasn't shaken up the backroom staff as most managers have there own trusted people

I think he has the contacts but will he have the finances to get them in, as for the backroom staff, I am struggling to understand this and think we may see changes quite soon!!

I'm really disappointed in all the criticism and moaning from a substantial number of people on this board. When Kean was here there were genuine grounds for that and the club was brought to the edge of a very deep hole. Venkys unfortunately are still here but we have to live with that. We now have a new manager who is the exact opposite of the last joker. He appears to be honest and have the best interests of the fans and club at heart. Not even the special one could turn our club into a successful outfit in a month and yet we have fans on here calling for his head already and telling us in as many words that Kean's results are better than Berg's. The results at the beginning of this season were a flash in the pan and every season we've seen how teams who have started well have not often finished well. Are there people on here who really thought we'd have stayed up near the top of the table with Kean in charge all season. Dream on.

If Henning Berg turns out to be a poor manager by the end of the season then fair enough let's look for a new manager but surely it's too soon to be wanting a change at this stage. For god's sake get behind the manager, the team and the club.

And there lies another issue !

Do we have a credible scouting team left ?
