[Archived] Henning Berg - Rovers Manager

He wasn't exactly short of choices when Kean walked! Didn't he say something like 30+ managers had made contact regarding the position?

Yes but only a handful ticked the mandatory ex player box. Were we then limited to only out of work managers for our hiring list? So compensation payments must have been an issue then yes?

I sometimes think that a lot of Rovers fans are only ever happy when they're unhappy.

Yeh, we are all secretley loving this aren't we?

God it was horrible when we won the league, got promoted, lifted the league cup, won the play off final and repeatedly qualified for Europe. This is great though. All this unlimited opportunity to snipe at the players and management. I'm so keaning happy I think I want to cry!

Are more of our ex players out of work now than when we hired Berg?

I wasn't there but at the 'Bloggers night' yesterday Shebby said it wouldn't take 5 weeks to replace Berg if necessary as there are now more out if work managers.

Sounds like he's already making plans ( and just couldn't keep it to himself ).

to any of those taken in by shabby this is proof of how unproffesional the clown is ..if anymore is needed

Totally agree but let's be honest it didn't take to this comment to realise what a numpty singh is. Numerous comments from backtracking over his opinion of kean, and his criticism of Peds (never, ever a good thing to go public on for a non-manager) being just 2 which immediately jump to mind showing he is utterly unprofessional and incompetent at his job.

Had cautiously high hopes for Berg - not an ideal candidate but at least a proper manager with managerial experience. The signs are though he's just another lapdog for Shabby :(

No clean sheet under Berg and worst set of results for 30+ years - wow.

Thought it would be difficult to top Kean's performance but Venkys appear to have done it....

Venky's love to outdo themselves in the sh*tstorm sweepstakes.

We need to turn this around or he will be on thin ice going into the Brighton game no matter what Shebby said this week

So far its nowhere near good enough from Berg he has to improve results and quickly

Edit - before we blame just the players take this into account

If scores stay the same then Bolton will be above us tonight, compare and contrast where both teams were when the manager changes took place

Sorry HB you are vlearly not up to the job. The whole set up is a total shambles.

Resign is my advice, and now.

You are at fault by sending a team out with no idea, no effort and no passion or simple pride.

Worse than KEAN? I never thought I would ever see it in my lifetime !

Exactly, the "its the players fault" line was an excuse from the start for those fans who tied their flag to the Berg mast. Nobody likes admitting they were wrong and doing a 180 degree turn on their opinion. So if its only a bit Berg's fault and mostly the players then that means his supporters were only a bit wrong instead of completely.

His past record indicated he's a poor manager. And low and behold, his sacking at Lillestroom wasn't down to some feeble financial excuse or whatever was being touted on here when he arrived, its because he is in fact a poor manager.

Thank god we didn't go for an experienced, mundane, obvious choice like Holloway, Davies or McCarthy. Its always better to try your luck with a clueless novice for irrelevant reasons like he used to play for you, he's young and enthusiastic, or he wants to play the game in the "right way". Venkys and some fans obviously learnt a lot from the Allardyce/Kean fiasco.

I'm not blaming Berg, unlike Kean he wants the club to do well it's just too much too soon to learn the squad, the club, the league and get Kean's players performing.

I blame Shebby for not employing a safer pair of hands when he could have. Shame his ego got in the way.

I don't blame Berg, and even though he's clearly out of his depth I'm not sure his resignation/sacking would do any good now. I dread to think who the idiots in charge would bring in. Shebby would probably take charge himself.

Forget Berg. He sold out when he took this job and has proven he's painfully out of his depth. But he is not the problem.

Forget Shebby. He's a media-whore with an agenda and a front to deflect the blame away from his paymasters. But he is not the problem.

The problem is and always has been the cowards in Pune who are doing everything in their power to bury this club.
