SamTheShrew Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 The goals haven't come since Berg has been here. 9 long games ago, nearly 1/5 of the season. How long do we wait?
Paul Mellelieu Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Topman, How do I get rid of your stupid 'seasonal' picture? How old are you, ten?
Stuart Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Topman, How do I get rid of your stupid 'seasonal' picture? How old are you, ten? Sticking him on ignore would do the job - although sledgehammers and walnuts spring to mind. Sorry Toppers!
rovers11 Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I'm afraid Berg has to go before January. You can start to judge a manager after 9 games. You should start to see some of the managers ideas and tactics coming into play at this point. We have gradually got worse the last few weeks rather than better after a promising start performance wise. Look at what the other new managers have achieved in the same time frame with the same players as their predecessors. Ipswich, Bolton etc I don't buy the `players aren`t good enough` line. It doesn't take a team of world class players to be organised, committed and disciplined. That is down to the manager to install those things into the players and berg hasn't done that. We have no way got the 15th worst squad in the league. Berg has been abysmal and won't be here next season. Hughes would come back imo
Proudtobeblue&white Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Need complete overhaul starting with Wankys, SS, and the rest of the freeloaders, Venkys please pack up and leave our beautiful town & club alone!
chaddyrovers Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Hughes would come back imo would he??? dont see what the huge thing is about Hughes??? FAILED at City and QPR after spending massively on wages and transfers fees. He couldnt even get his QPR to win a game in 12 games
47er Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Henning was a panic appointment by Singh. Just as with every decision since taking over, Venkys have keaned it up! 5 weeks to appoint him and its a panic decision??? That does'nt sound right to me. A very considered decision but the wrong one IMO. Clueless owners with clueless staff.

Last season I would have agreed that venky`s need to go. However, if they were to pull out now then we`d be in real trouble financially. tHey spent a lot on players in the summer but blew it by getting Berg in. Last season, they were the reason we went down cos they kept kean and sold off our best players. This season, they have invested a lot of money and forced kean out. They were positive moves. They then made a massive mistake by appointing berg. would he??? dont see what the huge thing is about Hughes??? FAILED at City and QPR after spending massively on wages and transfers fees. He couldnt even get his QPR to win a game in 12 games I'm not sure he failed at Man City. He did a decent job there. Did well with Wales, Blackburn and Fulham. Did poorly at QPR. What Hughes really excels at is getting the best out of players and making his team's hard to beat. We can oonly dream of that right now. He'd get us promoted.
47er Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 If they forced Kean out, it was after he spent money on the wrong players! They just make mistake after mistake. I'm with those who believe we'll never recover under their ownership.

Sorry, I don't understand some of the comments regarding finances - obviously, and firstly, being relegated is what could cripple us due to loss of income? (TV money) Strong opinion is that the club is making a hefty loss each month and we have a bloated wage bill with players like Ethuhu and Murphy clogging it up along with adding no value to the squad. Keep hearing about all these signing we made in the summer, well all of them apart from Rhodes have made little or no impact?
rovers11 Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I was impressed by who we bought in the summer on the whole. Just don't have the manager or coaching staff to get the best out of them. Look at the players Millwall and Watford have - bang average. They have decent managers thou
47er Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Hughes was unbelievably successful with us, did a great job for Fulham, didn't fail at City----just couldn't meet the expectations of Impatient owners. QPR is a hard one, the players he signed were not that bad and the same players are now doing better. Still, he was a failure there but overall record is very good. I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
Amo Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Aren't things farcical enough without suggesting that Hughes would honestly come back?
John Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Yup. Also, wouldn't have the money for Hughes (along with his coaching staff).
Gav Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I thought we did ok for the first 20 minutes, goal scored against the run of play, but terrible defending yet again, school boy stuff to be honest. After that it was all downhill, support was great yet again, they don't deserve the support they receive. Doubt we’ll go away for the rest of the season, just not worth the money to keep seeing abject performances like that. Sad really.
booth Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Who appointed Shebby? Himself? Let's say I was the owner of Rovers and I appointed Noel Edmonds to run the club for me. In turn, Noel appoints Mr Bean as manager. Who should you be angry at? I'm not talking about practical things here but something deep is now missing from Rovers. Until Venky's sell up and go Rovers will never be whole. That's true but they aren't going to sell up until they want to. They are too far away to care about what the fans think about them. The amount of abuse they took last season didn't get rid of them, and they can't sack themselves. Shebby was told by everyone to appoint experience. Even one of the owners suggested experienced names but Shebby convinced them that a young manager that they could develop, and one that was a club legend would be better. He ignored everyone. So I hope by the end of the season if Berg hasn't turned it around, Shebby is kicking himself for not making the right choice and keeping his ego in check. And the fans need to really rip into him about his huge mistake. He said in the Radio Lancs interview that he got dogs abuse in emails and messages. In all my times attending Rovers games I haven't once heard his name being chanting negatively until today. I hope it continues and gets much much worse because he could have done the right thing for the club but instead put himself first. He shouldn't be forgiven for that.

Mercer Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Saw Berg in Stanley House tonight. He cut a very forlorn figure sat there dining alone. You could almost feel sorry for him - IMO, clearly out of his depth and realising that.

You could almost feel sorry for him - IMO, clearly out of his depth and realising that. Shame really....he saw the pound signs and went against his real beliefs. He really needs a good backroom team quickly.....Black's probably thinks he'll get it till the end of the season if he can get shut of berg. Lots of shady shyte going on me thinks.
Rover_Shaun Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Nothing more shady than the shyte on the pitch and the shyte direction from the touchline. What is the consensus on Berg? Have people had enough of him? I know I have but sadly the same tosspots are around who chose him so we'd just end up with another muppet in charge.

Not had enough - but serious doubts he can turn this around. It is a real shame - he just needed a little more luck early in his reign and it could have been so different. Unfortunately Kean and Black had used up a seasons worth of "rub of the green "
Backroom Tom Posted December 16, 2012 Backroom Posted December 16, 2012 I like him and desperately want him to do well Next week is huge for him and us
BRFC1995 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Still got time for Berg, if Lowe/Etuhu/Dann are still playing regularly after Jan my attitude may change. Apathy is all i feel at the minute until January comes around, which beats felling angry like the last 2 years.
