[Archived] Henning Berg - Rovers Manager

Shabby doesn't need anyone to discredit him. He does a bang up job all by himself

So who do we want in control then? Shebby under the inept direction of Balaji or Agnew under the corrupt direction of the Fat Controller?

Maybe we should start a poll.

No alcohol for the players, no party games to allow for pictures showing our manager assing around during our appalling run, probably the best possible outcome for an undeserved Christmas party. Who the hell is leaking the stories though!?!

What worries me is not that this was leaked (although I suspect HB will know) but that lots of Rovers fans believed it. And, I suspect a lot of these are disappointed that it isn't true. Shame on you Henning for being sensible but next time BRFCS demands that you do someting stupid to add credence to the stories.

Maybe. But why are you enjoying Berg's apparent downfall so much? I've never met him but whatever the quality of his management I have him down as a decent bloke. A term that hardly applies to you does it Jim? Small wonder then that the amount of criticism you are attracting on here is increasing is it?

imo there is no need for you to sound so smug about it cos even if you have the satisfaction of being right it will only take the club down another step toward oblivion. Big sam won't be returning you know.

Well said, ive also had the feeling lately that there seems to be quite a lot of people on here getting some kind of perverse kick out of the team still not doing well under Berg and leaving smug (almost masochistic for so-called fans) comments, there the kind of comments you'd normally see from dingle fans in the LT comments sections.

p.s. i think your on the money with the Big Sam comment, pathetic that people still haven't got over that yet considering all the other crap thats gone down!

Absolutely, far to many people enjoying Berg falling flat on his face, I'm beginning to wonder where all the Blackburn Rovers supporters have gone?

Some have an excuse, they're only just out of nappies and want instant success or nothing, but you Jim do not.

I'm not enjoying his downfall and he's obviously a decent chap but it's equally obvious he was a poor appointment.

I didn't realise this place was a popularity contest but if it is then I'm afraid you're bottom of that particular list. You also take enjoyment out of Rovers' fall from grace and mention it at every opportunity.

even though his current results are poor he is actually the most positive thing that has happened to the club over the past 2 years. He needs support and time to form his own squad and playing style, and im sure we will do alot better when we get some new players in.

We couldnt even go straight up last time when we had walker/trust in charge. now we have had venkys "running" this club. it would almost be a miracle if we went straight up this time.

With berg in charge we can reinstance some club identy, culture and playing style. and we will have someone with integrity in charge.

Well when you put it like that, Drog!

At least Shaw/Agnew wanted to bring in a safe pair of hands for the job. And neither of them style themselves as fantasy football managers and would interfere with first team affairs. Lesser of two evils, mayhap?

Personally it was not replacing him with somebody better(or at least equal) that was the real cockup, If he hadn't been sacked do you honestly think he would have stuck around very long under this lot!!!

For the record the biggest mistake the Venkys have made is not respecting and listening to the chairman and board that came with the club and allowing them to leave.

this is all in the past though, the sad thing is nobody in pune or at the club is learning from the past mistakes.

Well this article is very worrying.

Not what actually happened (a storm in a tea cup really) but the fact it's been leaked and the way it's been spun.

Am guessing Agnew is the leak - it strikes me as too subtle for Shabby - and has reminded me once again, that whilst Shabby is a prize idiot with no clue of what's going on, the rest of our "top management" are equally as shambolic and detrimental to the club. The sooner they all leave the better.

Not good that the papers are being used as a battleground for their power struggles. Don't think Berg's the man for us but the that's irrelevant given the goings on behind the scenes. We could have got Holloway, McCarthy and promotion would still be a pipe dream in the chaos of our club's alleged structure.

Shame really as in the squad, club history and facilities we'd be a decent prospect.

If its a struggle between Singh and Shaw/Agnew, why don't Shebby just tells Mrs. Desai to pull the trigger and sack Shaw and Agnew and get Johnw Williams and Tom Finn back?

Because the party would then be over for him.

If he's struggling with Agnew & Shaw he'd be toast with real professionals

No one was expecting "instant success" but equally no one was not expecting the team to perform worse and fall like a stone out of the promotion race. No one wants Berg to fail but it's not looking good is it ? .

Critical stories of Kean in the national press and the Daily Telegraph and Guardian in particular must have a mirage.

I would imagine that if there has been a leak there will be an investigation going on at Ewood right now. The atmosphere behind the scenes down there must be awful. Also, why was Berg making a fool of himself by joining in childish games - he's supposed to be the manager and a figure of authority.

And Jim strikes again! Well, at least our previous manager can hold his head high, knowing that he didnt do things which were out of order

His version was?

Not that it massively matters. The problem is the leak and it's slant not what went on. Unless Berg made an utter fool of himself or lamped one of the players then I can't see what happened at the party having too much effect.

3.5 m is what we paid for him. They wont offer anything like that imo and no doubt whatever they do pay will be subject to a 'slice' heading off to some Swiss bank account or other. :glare:

I'm sure its around the figure we paid for him and I'm quite sure there would be a decent wedge going in an 'agents' direction. Formica is not a championship midfield style player, one of many we have at the moment and we need to clear some out. I don't dislike the guy, and he's not our worst, but size of squad, clubs financial standing and January transfer window all have to be considered.

i was right - Berg knew he was out of order. Look at his quotes this morning.

Basically (somehow!) I don't think they unanimously saw Kean as being a comically bad manager, whereas they're very quickly seeing Berg as one.

There's the rub. And why is he fair game?

Because Berg's not British.

what utter nonsense, you clearly are enjoying his struggles. Why lay blame just at his feet, when we have 11 under performing players every match day. Those players who get picked, should take a long hard look at themselves, and ask if they are up to the fight to get us at least into the playoffs. Everything is being done to discredit Berg and the club, and we have fans who are more than happy to see Berg leave. Why should we have the media and a few loose cannons dictate how Berg should leave the club, instead of either sacking him, or him resigning as manager in a dignified and proper manner.

Don't think Berg is the right man for the job .but would anyone else be with the agnew/shaw V Singh thing going on , the alleged interference by Singh the backroom staff farce .. + no one knows what happened with Robbo on Saturday...

The club has become so unproffesional its a comedy act well Singh has been on stage - KGH + look what a fool he made of him self there
