As long as Berg shows us all that he's not just some clueless puppet and finally organises the team into a coherent, functioning and ultimately victorious unit he can dance the can can in his brithday suit down Bolton Road for all I care.

It's a long shot though

quote them all please pal. Apart from the Holloway one which was nailed on until Shabba managed to get his way for a yes man/puppet the rest have been bang on!!! My guess is you didnt donate to the boycott ad that inevitably ended in Kean going not too long after

I think claiming credit for Kean going is a bit much mate :P

The fact that the manager was placed in a position which he found uncomfortable and for the whole episode to be leaked to the press is bad enough. However, for the club to highlight the fact in an official statement is simply staggering. We might be stuck with Venky's but surely we can get rid of Shebby, Shaw and Agnew and bring in someone who actually knows how to run a football club and handle the media. No wonder we are a laughing stock when the club can highlight the obvious discomfort of the manager on its own website. Even the statement is badly worded as it says the club "have issued the following statement to seek clarification in the light of press reports today." Surely they are trying to give clarification rather than seeking it or do they actually not know what is going on at their own club!

Perhaps this usage is correct in the same set of dictionaries and reference books that contain 'footiball'?

still, a freaking club statement, just to clear up a made up story.. unbelievable!

Bloody funny isn't it. The club's daft statements to daft occurences is the only thing about Rovers that makes me smile these days. Imagining that collection of incompetent buffoons scrambling round manically for a response to something they don't even need to respond to, in my head its like a Monty Python sketch. Agnew and Shaw are sat in the boardroom trying to figure out which way up the newspaper goes so they can read the article, then Shebby runs in with his tracksuit and boots on, shouting that his control has been compromisd, before Mrs D rings up and Agnew pretends she's got the wrong number, puts on a silly voice and hangs up. Then they all decide they can't figure out what to do and give the job to the tea lady to draft a response.

Berg will do it! Believe! well unless that guy from Malaysia does something daft again, and spoils it for everybody.

Unfortunately, the heart of the story - the manager being asked to do something he was uncomfortable with - wasn't made up according to the quote from Berg in the statement. The unbelievable part is that he was put in that position in the first place. A new manager trying to establish his authority at the club shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable in front of all the staff.

Poor move by the entertainer or deviousness?

According to Cryers twitter, Singh had left well before the incident, could backfire this one aggers .

Wonder if the PR contract with the club charges per statement released?

Haven't there been sackings when things have been leaked before? Time for some consistency to be applied and get rid of the complete knob who once again has discredited the company that pays him a small fortune.

I might start making up some stories and seeing which ones the club release a statement for.

besides the statement being put out there, my gripe with it, is why was Berg made to explain what happened? Where was our PR Director, our chairman, MD, our Global Assvisor? Would JW have allowed his man to have to explain things, which happened at a club event? In fact, Agnew was a no mark when his company was running the PR side of things when JW and Finn were still at the club. He is considered the worst PR guy around, and rightly so. We allow our players and management to handle all the difficult questions, which just adds more pressure. Amazing stuff this, and somebody will surely pay for this incompetence

Berg is a decent man and a good manager. I believe he'll get us to a playoff spot, provided the board doesn't sabotage him.

On the subject of the board, they're a collection of weasels. Agnew, Shaw and Singh should be shown the door ASAP.

Have you had the (mis)pleasure of seeing us live and in the flesh? It would change your opinion dramatically both on the teams play-off fortunes and Berg's management credentials. He may be a decent man, I don't know him.

drog: you didnt leave any stone unturned, in your mission to blast ince. He was a mumbling dummy, who you thought were dyslexic. So were you too, enjoying his and the clubs demise.?

Gav: the amount of retarded posts you´ve made about allardyce, calling him fat, whalrus and what not, was insane. You even posted you´d rather go down, then have allardyce in charge, with his boring football. Were you enjoying the clubs demise too.?

i dont know how old you guys are, but im guessing pretty old, as it seems like dementia has set in. Quite pitifull to see you guys attack jim, when you´ve done exactly same.

i dont think either of you guys were or are enjoying it and neither is anyone else, so why even discuss it?

Our club is in a mess, so getting succes is definetly harder under those circumstances, but lets not forget, that both kean and black worked under those circumstances aswell and did much better. So we can easely compare their results. Jim´s and other posters critisism of berg is spot on. HE HAS DONE WORSE THEN KEAN, UNDER THE EXACT SAME CIRCUMSTANCES:!

regarding this dinner incident, who gives a flying @#/?. I´m amazed a bunch of grown men, sitting behind their computer screen, are trying to impersonate dr phil or freud, while analyzing the situation.

I would rather see Berg make a statement about the suppose incident which is now not happened. He is trustworthy and honest person. plus i wouldnt be surprise if Berg ask to make this statement about the non incident.

I wouldnt trust Agnew to make the statement.

Shebby n Shaw should be trying to find out where and who is leaking these rumours and suppose incidents!!! Dont think they got to look too far away!!!

Club staff have been reminded today not to make any comments about Rovers (staff Xmas do I presume) to anyone, including fans. To do so is a breach of contract and may lead to disciplinary action.

Why Blackburn Rovers should have shelved their Christmas party

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/dec/19/blackburn-rovers-christmas-party?

The party (catered for by Northcote) was mainly for staff, not the players.
