What has that got to do with it, do they know him personally? No, there is a million miles difference between the Norwegian league an the English ones, Steve kean was a thinker but failed when it mattered, much like bergs overall record as a manager

To be fair he is using facts to back up what he's saying, you're using faith.

I hope he's the best manager we've ever had but I'm going to be realistic with my expectations. At least he's not Kean I keep telling myself.

Regardless, there's been enough negativity around here to last a lifetime.

Am I the only one who's sick of it?

Some people would find fault with a lottery win!!

Definitely, how long can we continue bitching and moaning about everything.

Is Henning Berg the right man for the job? Nobody knows and only time will tell. So for the time being why don't we do something revolutionary and get behind the manager and the team.

Completely agree. Some people just don't seem to want to see anything positive in this appointment, not even a tiny bit. Why? I have no clue. Maybe they applied for the job and got turned down... :D (jk)

Give Berg a chance before slating him. Some of you are negative but willing to give him a chance and that's fair enough but some are just picking holes in anything and everything just for the sake of it.

I read a lot of the comments on the Lancashire Telegraph, and frankly a lot of them disgust me, particularly those by SmelltheCoftee. They persistently tried to hound Venkys, Singh, Agnew and Shaw out of the club, posted about stupid conspiracies and agents, and accused anyone who was posting optimistic comments such as Forever Blue and White of being undercover PR agents or Kentaro people or Venkys' mouthpieces. Okay, I get it that people want Singh et al to go, but the manner in which they did was offensive, plus the attacks on other fans were uncalled for. They aren't even willing to give Berg a chance, and all of them are writing him off and slagging those who gave Berg a chance as deluded, PR agents, blind, etc. I'm surprised the LT doesn't ban their comments.

And there area few deluded people who think that a rich oil Arab merchant who so happens to be a Rovers fan will come and buy us one day. I get it that they want Venkys to sell, but to who? Please don't say the rich oil merchant I mentioned earlier, that has a lower chance of happening than a freaking apocalypse. Some people have to wake up and stop dreaming of another Roman Abrovmich or Abu Dhubai, and if they are trying to force Venkys to sell, please consider this: will the next buyer be better or be worse? We all thought Venkys would be better than the Walker's Trust, and while they have shattered that dream they are trying to pour money back to invest in the club. Any gurantees the next buyer will be better than Venkys? Might be worse for all we know.

So let's calm down and think before posting those comments on the Lancashire Telegraph.

Maybe you should preach this message on the place itself. People have a right to think and say what they like even if I don't agree with them (which I don't in this case, I'm all for supporting the new manager).

Preachy? Yes, very. Are you right? Erm, partially.

I was thinking similar Ivan.

I read that diatribe thinking "so BRFCS posters are all getting a ticking off for our negativity as evidenced by comments from non-BRFCS members on a non-BRFCS site...?".

Have I got that right?

He's here, he's not Kean, he's managed before, he's got Rovers previous, he's got my qualified support.

If he pulls the Rovers through this current mess, he'll be a true legend.

Perfect summary.

I stopped reading the Lancashire Telegraph comments ages ago. This forum has generally approved Berg's appointment.

Every Rovers supporter should get behind Rovers and Henning Berg. Why discuss other manager targets when we have our legend back! He's played for us twice. Won Premier League with big clubs as Rovers, Manchester United and also played 100 caps for Norway! Look at Sean Dyche's cv at Burnley........Im really happy with Henning.

You've made countless assumptions in there Black Burn, too many for me to be bothered to counter. As for the bit in bold. Come on, I like a laugh as much as the next man but really?

So, let's take a look, relegation, loss of millions of pounds in income, lost all sponsors, no paying kit sponsor for the second year in a row, ridiculously took the advice of Agents - flying in the face of any semblance of logic, lost a good percentage of the fan base, removed all experienced Board members and replaced with clowns, created a totally dysfunctional not fit for purpose infrastructure with no leader, removed an experienced Premier League manager, employed Kean, gave Kean an extended contract and wage rise, stuck with Kean for far too long before eventually losing patience and allowed him to resign, sold experienced Premier League players, stood by and watched while a pathetic PR campaign was waged against the fans. I could go on. On the plus side they bought Jordan Rhodes and gave us a free pie away at Wolves. So could the next owners be better or worse? Do you want to take a guess?

Er, no we all didn't and no they are not pouring money back into the club.

I wonder if we are looking to get a Norwegian sponsor now, just thought some of our games may end up on Tv there

The problem with the sponsor situation is that Venkys have (not through design) connected their own brand name and lunacy with the club so strongly that any proper sponsor won't have anything to do with us. They won't give it to a Norwegian sponsor cheaply or anyone else as they won't want to devalue the price they would get in future. They might as well put Venkys on the shirts or a picture of Balaji with Akon and Lennox Lewis.

The last Crown Paints deal was worth £5 million over 3 years, if we don't get a sponsor this year, we will have missed out on around 3-3.5 million over the last 2 years.

I'm sure that they would have got a hefty tax break for having a charity on the shirts last year. I don't see any benefit of having nothing on the shirt though.
