I can well imagine most of our new players are on very good contracts even the ones signed and not playing.

I doubt that Fabio Nunes, Diogo Rosado, Paulo Jorge, Edinho Junior, are on very good contracts.

Craig Short mentioned by a few on here as a possibility for Berg's no 2. Now that he seems to have lost out to Brown for Hartlepool job, we could soon find out if he's in the reckoning.

His odds is Shortening :)

........ I will concede that the pattern elsewhere with foreign owners seems to be that they accept huge losses as a matter of course for a limited period, then very quickly seem to tire of it and pull the plug almost over night. Not too far removed from what happened with the Trustees really although their withdrawal was a more gradual process.

Thats the moment reallity kicks in and common sense prevails.

Cryer was tweeting the other day about his fears for rovers finances - rumours suggest the club is losing 2-3m per month.

Think the club have until 31 March 2013 to file 2011/12 accounts.

Would anticipate they will max out on this !

That is absolutely terrifying.

Absolutely nothing for you to worry about. Just keep cheering on the lads with Ewood Spark!

Another 70000 fans per home game and we'll soon cover that!

(On a serious note not really about fans' "loyalty" is it after all? We're in a mess and the fans didn't do it!)

What's that about? Of course you can have an opinion different to mine and of course I can respond to it.

Not my fault if you can't back your's up though. What do you think this MB is for? Better to consider what I've written and try to find any flaws in it!

Ok, I appear to have misunderstood. What do you mean that I have absolutely nothing to worry about in regard to Rovers reportedly losing vast amounts of money?

Not from the point of view you've expressed hitherto. Our job as fans is to get down to Ewood every home game and be the twelfth man.

Matters of finance and admin are for our betters. Don't be negative.

I am also terrified about Rovers finances.

It really is an all or nothing strategy. If we don’t go up this season then next season it will require the owners to inject more money into the club. If they do that then with the parachute payment of £19 million we’d be ok, but if we didn’t go up again then we’d be in serious problems.

I don’t know the exact figure but Rovers are incurring big losses each month from what people are telling me, these are I guess being offset by the bank of India overdraft which I believe is secured against Venky’s India Assets.

However, with the current liabilities that we have (players on big contracts), coupled with the commercial side of the club seemingly broken and a big chunk of fans not wanting to return to Ewood then I do genuinely fear for our future if we don’t go up.

I reckon they're all on above 10k a week easily, perhaps more for Nunes & Rosado.

Cryer wouldn't have twitted what he did unless he'd heard it more than once. The other factor to consider is Kean and his mate are hardly the most honest of people.

Olsson thinks we look like a different team under Berg.

I am not going to say anything bad about Kean, he was good in his way as well, but Berg was a legend when he was playing.

“I always watched him play and the way he speaks we listen. We can learn a lot from him because he has been in the same situation. He is always positive.

“It is still very early, he has only been here a week, but he does a lot of tactics like working the whole team instead of the back four.

Shame.

Kean couldn't get the team shape correct in his whole time here. Sounds like Berg is working on that but that last line sounds like Kean basically got the back to work on defending and no one else? Our midifled was always woeful under Kean could this have been a big factor in that and why we shipped in so many goals?

Well, as a supporter of the club I would have thought I'd have every reason to be concerned but there you go.

What is your better idea than backing the players and being "the 12th man"?

I can only liken it to the situation at Liverpool when Gilette and Hicks were there. Liverpool fans hated them with a passion. But they stuck with the Club whereas many of our fans walked away. Their fans pack out Anfield with 42,000 fans in the middle of August for a meaningless European preliminary round against DNS Airbus of Wales or whoever.. If we have a Cup tie we're lucky if 1/3 of the normal League attendees show.

I commented about the die hard 7000 elsewhere but your criticism of the supporters is a taj harsh cos only a fool in that padded cell would not react to the demolition of all that we cherished by the goon in Pune. BUT as for making a comparison to Liverpool!! Not much difference between BRFC and Lpool FC is there? Pop of Merseyside is 1.3 million with no big team south of them till Madrid! Thats equal to the entire pop of Lancashire and 10x the pop of BwD. Pro rata if we only had a 5000 seater stadium no doubt we'd fill it every game too. Not only that but in the 90's it was established that BRFC had the largest %age of supporters from the town/city of any Prem club... and thats with in a depressed area with a massive immigrant population who are only warming to supporting BRFC at a snails pace.

Kean and the owners didn't set out to naff off the fans deliberately, they were incompetent and naive respectively. But no - one outside of a padded cell should think either WANTED to go down and lose 25m of Premiership TV money and the attendant publicity.

Nobody has yet come up with a valid reason for their incompetence. If they had tossed a coin each time they had to make a decision they'd have had a 50% success rate. As it is they got just about every decision way wrong. Ranulf Westwood couldn't possibly have been more destructive!

I must admit...I'm quite amazed to read that Kean didn't work on defending with the whole team. I think many people pointed out that the midfield offered no proteciton to the back four, and now we know why.

Nice to hear Martin Olsson speaking positively too, doesn't sound like a player that wants out in that interview.

One hint in the Lancs Telegraph today, Martin Olsson saying Berg works on tactics of the whole team instead of the back four!!

I may be wreading wrongly here but the suggestion appears to be, do we need a defensive coach now??

Never did did we? It's a simple tactic... when the opposition is in possession we should have 11 defenders and they should all get between their individual opposition and our goal. Under Kean and as with any poor team we had too many flat footed ball watchers.

I am also terrified about Rovers finances.

Nothing new Kamy....... I've been scared since the Venkymob took over and terrified once dastardly and Muttley assumed total control and replaced Allardyce and Williams.

Needless to say, our matches up to Jan., and opening of the window, are all even more critical.

Good results and in a challenging position then Venky's might just hold their nerve. However, I dread to think what might happen If results go the other way.
