tonyoz Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Please please can we discuss rovers finance and our owners elsewhere, this is a thread about Berg Danny seems impressed: "It has been very positive," said Murphy of Berg's arrival. "I think the atmosphere went up, there has been a spring in the step in training, the intensity, everybody is keen to impress. "The new gaffer changed the training a little bit in terms of making the intensity a bit more and the sessions a bit shorter, which seems to have benefitted us. "The way we have played in the last two games has been largely down to the manager and the fact that he has been working hard on the training pitch in getting the ball out from the back and playing from the back. "I think it has helped everybody, the possession stats and the passing stats from the last two games have probably been our highest this season. http://www.rovers.co...ome-489366.aspx

bypass06 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Quality is crucial to any deal says Rovers boss Berg http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/10054547._/?
thenodrog Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 10,000 fans each paying an average of £300 per season for their ST's = £3 million. Just enough to pay Danny Murphy for a year. Frightening. Correct and that is the base of my resentment. However we cannot defy gravity for much longer and soon when the Prem parachute money has run out and the high rollers like Murphy and Ped and Dunny and Robbo etc etc have keaned off we will have to live within our means and the revenue from the fans will become all important.
booth Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Thing about Venky's is that their incompetence knows no bounds. There was never any logic behind their actions. Like I once remarked, it was equatable to a Dingle taking over Rovers on Football Manager purely for the chance to sabotage us. I don't know how they could have done any worse. It's no wonder Venky's time here has fuelled so many conspiracy theories - from the crackpot to the not-so-crazy. It's the nature of the beast. Venky's are that out of their depth in running a football club they took on the first person who was willing to "help" them out with advice and look what happened. The real incompetence comes from not taking action sooner.
Mr. E Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Lost all faith and hope in Berg after today. We needed a manager to come in and start flipping tables over and make drastic changes. If last week's tragedy vs Brum was understandable because it was one of his first games...the fact that he would actually award that dross, particularly the defenders, by playing the exact same team again is a nightmare. Play a bunch of 16 year olds if you need to, it doesn't matter - it can't get worse. But make a statement, make that overpaid dross that passes for a defense know that it can't continue wasting field space like this,

When was the last time we went 3-0 up before half time?? And you're moaning about Berg? Strange

LDRover Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 mr e been swallowing an E Now that's funny.
Clitherover Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Happy Days is all I can say, unfortunately only watched it on Sky but the Rovers fans sounded amazing on telly. We passed the ball around like a team with different class and our star man got a hat trick, what more could we ask for. Onwards and upwards from here. Mr E I know Burnley lost but no need to take it out on us lot, try kicking the dog instead?

philipl Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 So pleased that Henning got that first win after coming so close in the two draws.

Whichever........you clearly don't know a thing about football, so why don't you just run away and play with your toys or something.
JAL Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Does it really look good for Henning and Rovers immediate future when all they are doing at this moment in time is talking about loan players in January and Berg still hasnt brought in anyone for his backroom team.
AndyC Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 the finances are well documented Jal. We cant afford any big signings in Jan. We desperately need that new prem league deal money next season. Id be happy with a few of fergies boys on loan who need to get a few more games under their belts... Im happy black is staying on. If he had no impact when kean left, Id want him straight out of the door, but at least he recognised that the team needed to actually defend as a unit. He shored us up a bit and so he clearly wanted to do other things when kean was in charge. hendry on the other hand.....

tonyoz Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I like Bergie and I like his ideas. There are no guarantees in this business but he has had a big impact already. Rochina, with all his faults, had another highly influential game yesterday and who's this guy wearing No. 10? He looks a lot like Formica but this guy can play! Rhodes has remembered how to score again and Danny has shut up the boo-boys. Long may it continue. Yes, the real test will be whether the team can maintain these standards. Was he the right choice? It's never clear cut at the time the appointment is made. IMO there are many factors that go to that make a winning team......the players have to get on board and gel with the new ideas for instance and there needs to be some strong characters in the dressing room. It's amazing how many times successful managers tank when they move on to pastures new. Maybe you thought these guys would have been a better bet for BRFC: On Saturday, the players assembled by Hughes carried the appearance of hired hands, many not appearing to have the stomach for the fight, certainly judging by their timid efforts. QPR were dismal and their supporters vented their feelings, chanting for Hughes's dismissal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20278600 MARTIN O'NEILL insists he will quit if his Sunderland nightmare continues. The Mackems boss travels to Fulham today desperate to end a confidence-sapping run of just ONE Premier League win in 18. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4650340/Martin-ONeill-Ill-quit-Sunderland-if-I-cant-put-this-right.html Leicester City 6 v 0 Ipswich Town Town fell to their second successive hammering on the road as Mick McCarthy's men were thoroughly outclassed by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/21894/leicester-city-6-0-town

The Rover of Finland Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Has there been Norwegian players linked to Rovers in Norwegian media? Joshua King on loan? I doubt Henning will bring anyone because of nationality but of course he knows everything of the Norwegian league.
Stuart Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Does it really look good for Henning and Rovers immediate future when all they are doing at this moment in time is talking about loan players in January and Berg still hasnt brought in anyone for his backroom team. I thought the loan debate was about the potential to bring in someone before the emergency loan window closes this Thursday? January hasn't been mentioned yet. Whilst it's very possible we are now skint, he may be able to sell to buy. As for the back room team, isn't it possible that they are happy working with Berg, and he with them?
