Puffsan Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 he was subbed on in one of our international games as a wing so i guess he could be used there. he is fast and strong and has good dribble ability. not too sure of his finishing skills though. if he is ls brought here to be used as a striker im doubtful of how much playing time he will get. will rather use nuno and rhodes ahead of him. Hes good to put on as a sub though when the opposition is tired his pace can wreck some serious damage
LeChuck Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Is Joshua King an out-and-out striker or can he play on the wing? Given his pace I'm just wondering if Berg is looking at him to play on the right. He certainly doesn't seem like a goalscorer from his current record anyway. To answer my own question, after a quick look around on Man Utd messageboards discussing him, it seems that many Utd fans see left wing as his best position. Could be a replacement for Marcus in that case. That would be a very wise move. Edit: Cheers Sverre and Puffsan.

den Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I find this a bit uninspiring. In 27 career first team appearances he's scored just 2 goals.
Backroom Tom Posted November 21, 2012 Backroom Posted November 21, 2012 I see it as a CKR replacement as his time seems to be up

Sverre Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Henning Berg likes wingers with pace, King fits that bill as he is a great athlete and a decent footballer. He is better than Marcus Olsson in my opinion.
Plastics Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 A little early to be writing off CKR. I'm not sure if this guy will be playing week in week out.
CapeTownRover Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I find this a bit uninspiring. In 27 career first team appearances he's scored just 2 goals. urgh, come on Dennis cheer up
Torgeir Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I find this a bit uninspiring. In 27 career first team appearances he's scored just 2 goals. I think that's predominantly as a winger. Besides, he's only 20. Comparatively, Thierry Henry didn't really start scoring until he was moved in as a striker, and flopped at Juventus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry).
AndyC Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Anyone else just enjoying being linked with someone that we don't know much about, now that we have a quality manager? I trust Henning to be able to spot a player and because he's always conducted himself with integrity, the likes of fergie etc will no doubt try and help out I suspect he's working v hard behind the scenes to get a defender, midfielder and attacker on loan. Keep the faith guys
den Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 urgh, come on Dennis cheer up I'm fine thanks. Maybe he'll be the next Thierry Henry?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I find this a bit uninspiring. In 27 career first team appearances he's scored just 2 goals. Let's hope he's better than the last few loanees we've had from Utd. Danny Simpson and Diouff the younger were Bobbins. I think we had another striker from them not long ago, he was that good I've already forgotten his name !

RE Mame - 17 goals in 25 games for Hannover.

Salgado Is A Hero Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Danny Simpson isn't doing too badly for himself now. Neither is Mame in Germany. RE Mame - 17 goals in 25 games for Hannover. 17 in 25? Great return....he must have hit them all first time. Simpson is just older so now has experience....pretty awful when he was here....Arshavin used to tear him a new one if I remember correctly.
1864roverite Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Arshavin, when he can be bothered could tear anyone a new hole if he wanted to !!!
CapeTownRover Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Franco Di Santo was here, but he was from Chelsea.
Hekla Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 It's just a loan signing, nothing to lose. Talented guy from United, Berg obviously knows his talents.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 you don't mean Russell Beardsmore, do you I'm sure you don't, but that name's a blast from the past Tyrone - innit! No Den I remember Beardsmore, Kenny got him on loan when he took over from Don Mackay. Not a bad little player. My memory must be playing tricks but I thought we loaned another striker from United who did nothing besides Diouff in the last few years. Simpson may be doing O.K. In Newcastle and Diouff in Germany but my point was they were both very poor at Rovers.
Sparky Marky Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 King is a poor man's Hoilett. Seen him a few times in utd reserves and on loan at nob end(which was a disaster)......not overly impressed.
LeChuck Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 King is a poor man's Hoilett. Seen him a few times in utd reserves and on loan at nob end(which was a disaster)......not overly impressed. A poor man's Hoilett is about the level we are at. Hoilett is playing in the Premier League, we are playing in the Championship.

Seen him a few times in utd reserves and on loan at nob end(which was a disaster)......not overly impressed. Are you not the guy who disparaged Hoilett and Phil Jones anyway? (If not, I sincerely apologise).
