Plastics Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 why do you post ...your sig says you DONT support rovers ffs. That's like saying if you didn't support Kean then you don't support Rovers. Are you Braddock in disguise? Are you Bra-addock in disguise?!

USABlue Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I may disagree with Merceman, but I think everyone is being far too harsh on him. He's not being overly negative, there are valid reasons why he thinks the way he does. He is sharing his opinions with us honestly, but I personally do not think he deserves to be slagged off as being overly negative. By the way, for anyone thinking Shebby Singh is an idiot who has absolutely no clue about English football, this guy has this to say. http://www.skysports...8213320,00.html I don't know if it's true or if it will change anyone's mind, but I'll just put it up here and leave the conclusions to everyone. I hope you'll continue to post honestly, Mercerman. Please do not be deterred even if other people think you come across as being negative. As there are valid reasons I post my opinions in reply to his. No harm or malice intended here, I disagree with you but that's life. Mercerman seems to handle it well, he expects it I think. It's just an airing of views on a messageboard I'm certain he gets that. I hope also that he is not deterred and continues to post from the heart if that's what it is.
martonrover Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Berg is the man. Tell that to Paul Robinson.
blueboy3333 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Shaw, Aggers and Singh pick a s h i t manager shocker! Only joking but Berg needs to pull his finger out. 1 win in 5 is not good enough for a team where 'promotion is the minimum requirement'.

Think you're one whose been carried away in thinking that these players collectively are good enough.

The worrying thing this is that there does not even seem to have been the usual 'new manager bounce'.
den Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 The worrying thing this is that there does not even seem to have been the usual 'new manager bounce'. You need players who have been underperforming for that to happen MM.
USABlue Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I told you we should never have hired Berg. Just kidding. I wasn't there so my comments maybe wide of the mark but it sounded like a very frustrating afternoon, everything just not quite coming off, crosses a bit high, shots a bit wide, things just not working well. Sounded like the endeavor was there, it was a game we should have been able to win and that maybe cause for concern. I am not worried about the new manager bounce bit, rather that we steadily improve.
John Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Poor return, results wise, since Berg took over. Need to somehow put a side together who can grind out results. Lack of mobility in central midfield also an issue.

Lack of mobility in central midfield also an issue. He can only work with what he has inherited. January can't come soon enough and I really expect some Rednapp type wheeling and dealing.
Athlete Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Think we all know the real problem That problem is Venkys

Lack of mobility in central midfield also an issue. Thank God someone else can see the problem with midfield. Only one of those two should be in the team. January window can't come quick enough but realistically we are looking at play offs at best.
Steve Moss Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Think we all know the real problem That problem is Venkys In part. I think having a 40 member squad, most of whom contribute nothing, is the major problem. And Venkys ebabled the bloat and blight under Kean, so they're responsible. Berg has to be given free rein. If he's trying to replace Robbo, then we should support him. Ditto anyone else he feels should go and anyone else he believes needs to be brought in.
G Somerset Rover Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Get Givet back in ASAP, drop Hanley and bring in Simon for Marcus Olsson or Formica. Hanley and Marcus Olsson haven't been good enough, while I'd also be tempted to bring in Lowe for Etuhu.
rovers11 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 The big news today that many people haven't noticed is that the latest accounts show that Rovers are indeed debt free and even made a small profit of nearly 2m.
Blackburn Ravers Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 The big news today that many people haven't noticed is that the latest accounts show that Rovers are indeed debt free and even made a small profit of nearly 2m. no wonder considering the amount of players we sold

Mercer Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 For quite some time, some supporters have been thinking we have one of the best, if not the best, squad in the Championship and all we needed was a decent manager. Well the manager has changed and Berg has to be given a fair crack. However, I have said many times that, IMO, the squad balance isn't right. We do not have enough players with that mean and ruthless streak - too many 'fancy dans'. Unfortunately, for Berg, Rovers and us supporters, I fear things will soon get worse rather than better - look at our next 6 fixtures: Bolton Home Burnley Away Cardiff Home Blackpool Away Brighton Home M'brough Away I think we might be lucky to come away with 6 points from that lot. Givet and Lowe would give us a bit more physicality and aggression, whilst Simon would give us some much needed guile. If Henning, doesn't sort things fast, he's going to find himself under the most enormous of pressure.

Mercer Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Those accounts are until 31st March 2012, and not representative of the current situation. Are these the club's 'operational' accounts or those of a 'holding company' ?

It must be hard to form such an opinion when you don't go to games, come on mercer post something positive, I dare you
Mercer Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Don't tell mercer, that news will ruin his night Ruined already, all my bets went down today, two attributable to Rovers not winning !
