How come he needs an "excuse"? Its not compulsory. Should his mother come on here with a "note"?

He volunteered that for his reasoning behind not going. If you're going to pass up games based on that, then I can't help but feel that he's looking for excuses given how many other reasons a fan could have for not going.

He has others to consider, that he takes with him to Ewood. So, they have needs. Perhaps accessibility, perhaps they're kids and its a nicer atmosphere and better than the family stand.

He has his reasons, leave him to them. It doesn't make you a better fan.

Henning Bergs Blue and White Army. There is hardly any fighting, except arguments by those who were against his appointment. Anyway, even if we dont go up this season, i hope Berg is given a chance to bring his own players in, and have a full pre season. Time to kick some Notlob and Dingle Butt Now.

But since you've brought it up, surely a supporter who forks out their hard earned to go to a match does have a bit more credibility than someone who lives in the area and can afford to go but "doesn't want to"?

<p>I really think nothing much has changed in reality,we are still a club deep in limbo.

We have lost roughy half our support with to date no sign them returning as the club had hoped. We have a squad that is not as good as we would like to think paying crazy money for average players and if brutally honest,we have just appointed a manager who in all matter of fact is a total rookie at this level.

it took how many weeks too appoint a rookie without the added cost of his own backroom staff ? Really do hope it works out for Henning as he seems a geniune bloke but he is going to need to need help and a bit of luck + no interference along the way...anyhow onto Wednesday and lets hope were not playing catch up too much after tonights games

Used to be a 'Riversider' before ground redevelopment. Been in JW since built and don't see why I should change where I sit just because, IMO, the club has screwed-up its pricing of mid season tickets for JW. Not only that, I have others to consider who I take to Ewood.

I know I keep banging on about this but I think it's utter madness to price supporters out of the JW and unnecessarily cost the club revenue. The consequences of this will continue with thousands upon thousands of seats remaining empty in the JW. IMO, no wonder our club is in such a mess with such commerical idiocy.

Stupid though it is it's probably influenced by the need to fill the Riverside for the camera's. Shame cos most casual observers will not see the splendid 3 main stands and have Ewood down as a povvie ground with scruffy downtrodden northeners traipsing off with hunched shoulders well before the end. First impressions will always last longest I'm afraid.

I don't think it's as clear cut as that. Of course it's admirable that people fork out money to follow the club, through thick and thin, but when you bring in factors like (and I'm still guessing here) having kids, accessibility etc, it's a different matter. I don't buy the "better fan" thing at all. I, personally, think that if you leave before the final whistle, it's a poor do, but I'd never tell someone they weren't a proper fan. I just wouldn't do it. I might disagree with them and might call someone out on it, but questioning the level of their loyalty just seems a bit like pointless one-upmanship, to me.

Yep, especially when the Riversiders leaving are massively outnumbered by the 'real fans' in the blackburn end who leave early. They have cover the of the tunnels to 'sneak' away into unnoticed, but I see them ;)

IMO, what a feckin joke - blatant discrimination, again, against those who sit or would sit in the JW.

All they needed to do to extend the offer was to say £10 all areas of the ground other than JW which will be £15. Fair to everyone, covers all angles.

You do worry for our future with, IMO, such commercial clowns running the business.

Would have gone to this match if JW had been part of the offer but will stay at home now and watch on Sky. So that will be a handful less at Ewood on the night and more revenue lost. Not sure this lot want, or deserve, our support.

Can only assume they're trying to empty the JW stand. I mean, if you really wanted to do that you would put the prices up more than anywhere else and you wouldn't make any offers available to those customers. I reckon they'll succeed. Unfortunately, I believe many of those fans will just pack it in rather than move elsewhere.

can see next season if we don't go up only 3 sides of the ground open to save costs

but as you say people just will not move elsewhere in the ground why should they ??

No.

No supporter is any better than another supporter, regardless of how many matches you go to.

If you've never been to a match, but love Rovers, you're a Rovers supporter.

If you go to every match and Rovers takes priority over your wife, kids, job and life then...well, then you need to get some therapy...but you're still a Rovers supporter.

No such thing as 'more of a fan' or 'superfans'.

  Mercerman you really crack me up. You and GAV should be a double act; you being the straight man obviously.

Hence why I deliberately used the word 'credibility'.

They are not 'more credible' fans either. They are fans whose opinions of matchdays are more credible, that's about it.

Correct, and that's obviously what I'm concerned about on a mb.

But as a side issue, one is, by definition, supporting' the club (financially), more than the other.

Mercerman.....if it offends you so much just go in another stand, mate. Seriously. If you're going to keep finding conspiracies and such shoddy reasons not to attend then it's probably best for all parties that you just don't go. But it also means you should stop bitching about it.

You're starting to sound like a petty, whiny ex of mine who continues to nitpick and criticise long after we split (ironically, about 2 years ago).

I don't need to find any reason or excuse not to attend, it isn't compulsory !

I don't wish to go in another stand and neither would the folk who I take with me to the match.

This is not about bitching or personal cost, it is about principle and my gripe is that JW supporters seem to be being unfairly discriminated against, again. Well, if those, IMO, clowns at Ewood continue to treat supporters with such contempt then they haven't a cat in hell's chance of filling those thousands of empty seats in the JW.

And by the way, I don't give a shyte what you think about the matter so if it's bothering you that much then put me on ignore.

It's not on Sky is it? Wigan V Man City is tho

Cardiff match is live on Sky on Friday 7 December.

Performance of new managers in Championship:

  • Holloway 6 matches, 13 points, averaging 2.2 points per match
  • Dyche 6 matches, 10 points, averaging 1.7 points per match
  • McCarthy 6 matches, 10 points, averaging 1.7 points per match
  • Freedman 5 matches, 7 points, averaging 1.4 points per match
  • Berg 5 matches, 5 points, averaging 1.0 points per match
  • Appleton 4 matches, 4 points, averaging 1.0 points per match

Feels like we need a minimum of 4 points from Bolton and Burnley matches to get some momentum and confidence going.
