SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Usyk the better Boxer and the right result. Furys comments about the Ukrainian war influencing scoring was utter classless. Knock him clean our Usyk in the re-match and teach him some respect. 1 Quote

Gav Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 Josh Taylor looked a shot fighter against Lopez in his last outing, fingers crossed Catterall can shut him up this time around. Quote
tomphil Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 (edited) Looked better on the scales so i expect Taylor to start better this time but if Jack can match him i think Josh will start to fade in the second half of the fight. The Chorley mon has to make it count this time and finish the stronger. I was wrong about the big one last week though ! Edited May 24, 2024 by tomphil 1 Quote
tomphil Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 Right result this time but 2 scores a bit wide, never mind though that's 2 nil Jack !!! Bob Arum is boxings Joe Biden the only guy more cringeworthy than him is Fury's fat old man and his fake act hardman act. In the bin the pair of you 1 Quote

tomphil Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Some interesting fights on this although it isn't really as billed the best 5 v the best 5 it's more of a 'best of the rest' type event. Dubois v Hrgovic should be the pick of the bunch i can see that being a good old ding dong and quite fancy Dubois to take it. 1 Quote
bluebruce Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 41 year old Zhang battered Wilder. With 4 losses in his last 5, that's essentially Wilder's career over. Quote
tomphil Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Wilder would've been found out years ago if his opposition hadn't been cherry picked but he might have actually learned something. For a brief example comparing him to another big name puncher, Mike Tyson fought 9 of the guys who made up the top 10 (and many others aside who made up the top 10 in the years after) from when he was first crowned WBC champion in 1986. Beating 8 including several title holders and other former champs before eventually losing to another regular top 10'er Douglas 4 years later. Witherspoon was the only one from 86 he didn't fight after Spoon was frozen out by Don King over money owed to him. In no way could the same be said about Wilder yet he goes in the record books as having 10 straight defences of that crown. Boxing is an illusion at times particularly where the likes of Bob Arum are involved. Quote
Gav Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 (edited) Good fight card tonight from O2 in London, headlined by War Chisora who keeps taking about retiring but wants to make it to 50 fights, this is 48. Chisora v Joyce on next. Edited July 27, 2024 by Gav Quote
tomphil Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Proper old school dust up that two old big lumps throwing boxing fundamentals out the window and just slugging it out. Didn't even pretend to hate each other in the build up either, great example to other HWs who make up the top 15 but never fight each other. Hope both these two retire now neither is beating anyone else who is any good but we need more to step up to the plate and give that kind of entertainment. Quote

Chisora wants to get to 50 fights, so 2 more for Derek I would imagine But yes tomphil, a proper old school dust up, I loved every minute of it, if he fights in Manchester next I may go, he deserves the support. I was there for his first tear up with Whyte and it didn't disappoint it was a belter which he was very unfortunate to lose. He takes way too much punishment but he always dishes back as much as he can as well. Arguably the best HW journeyman of all time if there is such a thing given hes fought most of the top tens of the last 15 years. 1 Quote

tomphil Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Good to see Bakole end the Jared Anderson hype train, something i never jumped on although allegedly he got the better of Fury in sparring. Not seen the Ruiz jnr v the walking pharmacy fight so wondering if it's worth watching back ? Quote

Gav Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Got a house full later today for the boxing at Wembley, a stacked card with the likes of Joshua Buatsi and Josh Warrington on the undercard, its set to be some night for the boxing fans amongst us. For the main event, I can't see past AJ myself, Dubois looked nervous at weigh in, he's a tremendous jab on his day but nothing much else from what I've seen, but you never know with the heavy weights, AJ to stop Dubois in the middle rounds would be my prediction. ABBEY Posted September 21, 2024 Author Posted September 21, 2024 I'm hoping dubois puts the self confessed white hating racist to sleep and finishes his career. Warrington is one of my fave fighters of all time however I think he should be retired , don't get me wrong I'm shouting from the rooftop tonight for him . Quote

He’s not a white hater, you’ve taken a quote out of context and run with it. He was paraphrasing someone else when he was reading the words you’re talking about. Quote
