Paul Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I've just been reviewing Glen's comments and the response from Dan and myself. As I'm sure many people will read this thread I think it worthwhile to mention other points: Rovers Trust elections legally have to be run in a form which meets the approval of Supporters Direct. The majority of trusts use the model election process provided by Supporters Direct, the sense behind this is it's far simpler to meet the Supporters Direct requirements if one uses their purpose designed election process!! Each trust is able to modify the model to suit their particular situation. All SD registered trusts elect using the same process and rules, there is no way round this. From the above we can see those who can and cannot vote are determined by SD. This is no different from a UK political election. One must be on the Electoral Role by a certain point to vote in local or national elections. There is nothing unusual in the process or rules Rovers Trust has followed. Second point is regarding the number of votes available to each member. I don't want to get involved in semantics but each member can "vote for up to six candidates" means one can cast one vote per candidate it does not mean a member has six votes, which implies those six votes could all be used for just one candidate. There is an important difference there. Members can vote online, by paper postal ballot and in person at the EGM. This covers all the secure options for voting to ensure every member receives an equal opportunity to vote. I suppose we might have considered telephone votes but that would have been enormously expensive to make secure, with pin numbers etc. etc.

Paul Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I have tried that , it says you have not registered yet , but I am logged in . Regarding the 6 votes the email I got states that any person who registered after the 31st march votes won't count . It also states you can have just 1 vote in person Meaning pre march 31st members get 6 votes and if people are like me and can't access the online voting and don't attend the EGM then they don't get to vote at all . At this stage I could not tell you who the nominees are as I don't have access to that information. Rather disappointed tbh Glen regarding the bit in bold this is not what the email states. The wording used is: "The results of the vote will be publicly announced at an EGM of the Trust on Wednesday 15th May at the Anchor Ground AFC Darwen BB3 0BB at 7pm. As above there will be a final opportunity to vote in person at this meeting if you have not already done so." This means one can carry out "the act of voting" at the EGM, it does not mean a member only gets one vote at the EGM! The GM ballot paper will provide anyone who uses it with the opportunity to vote for up to six candidates.
glen9mullan Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Glen, you signed up in February using one email address and user name as a full member, and now you've just reregistered yourself as a free subscriber under a different username and email address. I am 100% sure this is why you are having a problem. You probably are logged in under your new free subscriber account, and thus cannot vote. I will PM you your original username and email address so you can log in. The deadline for being able to vote in this election has been the 31st of March since the beginning, and this has been in all communication since the announcement of the election. All members who don't have emails registered with us will be receiving their ballots in the post with clear instructions how to register their 6 votes and where to send them. Every member who comes to the EGM will get one BALLOT in which they can select up to six nominees for election, and we will also check to make sure they haven't already voted on our membership list. My first account was not working , hence I then tried registering again . All sorterd now through the PM you sent Glen regarding the bit in bold this is not what the email states. I then apologise re 1 vote in person , it's how i read the emai Re the 6 votes , I fully understood they couldn't be used on one person
Ozz Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I have to stress it is a piece of cake to use the website to vote-AS LONG AS YOU ARE ALREADY LOGGED IN to the Trust website before clicking the link from the email. If you have forgot your login details you can use the link to reset it on the site.
Robin Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 a question about the online voting : Is something suppose to happen after i have clicked "vote"? Seems like there is no confirmation that i have voted and when i click on the link in mail for the second time i can vote again?

No there isn't but if you vote for too many candidates it will tell you that
stuwilky Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Stuwilky, I saw your password change register for us. Are you still having problems? Email me at my Rovers Trust address and we'll fix you up. Hi Dan, No problems, I did manage to fix it quite quickly - either user error, or the wrong link or something. Im good, not voted yet, but we are all sorted. Stuart

Wayne Wild Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Following a recent interview conducted in the Blues Bar by a London based American journalist, The New York Times have written an article on the situation at Ewood. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/18/sports/soccer/blackburn-rovers-once-a-top-club-have-fallen.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
Paul Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Just a quick heads up guys. Lots of news re the Trust in this week's podcast. Plus we have some interesting, and I personally feel very exciting news, during this week
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Paul, shebby 'da man says the trust couldn't even run a pub..what's the trust's view on this please? ^_^
CapeTownRover Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 hahahah SG194, i just mentioned on the Shebby thread, that they should refrain from any sort of communication with him
Paul Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Paul, shebby 'da man says the trust couldn't even run a pub..what's the trust's view on this please? ^_^ Errrrr we are currently thinking about this. I can vouch for me and Wayne as we've both run bars!!!! Not sure about the others but I suspect one or two might have some "experience"In all seriousness though we are chatting about it internally. We try to avoid shooting from the hip and to give a considered response to anything which we feel us worthy of comment.
ABBEY Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Was it a local village bar ? A city rough bar ? A lap dancing bar? Or an iron bar?
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I only hope he is put right in his place Paul, the mans arrogance is astounding. A massive kick in the gonads and a two fingered salute for the trust and the two Ian's who are looking to set up dialogue with these so-called owners imo.
den Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Don't be drawn in by him Paul. (Singh, not Abbey). He's doing a great job of demonstrating how bad things are down at Ewood. Leave him be, he's doing any potential owners a big favour.
Paul Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Don't worry Den, we know. Which is why it simply gets discussed to begin with.
Backroom Mike E Posted April 22, 2013 Backroom Posted April 22, 2013 You could point out (for example) the experience Singh has at running a club ofc. Ie: None, and the one he is vaguely attached to has been relegated to battling for survival in the Championship from a stable Preier League position.'We CAN run bars, Shebby. But it appears you can't run the club.'
Ozz Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Today is the last day for entries for our competition. The prize is a brilliant trip to Brockhall, to see the players train, and meet some of the staff. It's a wonderful and rare chance to see what actually goes on behind the scenes at Rovers. All you have to do is A-Be a member, and B-Answer this question. "Who is Rovers all time leading goal scorer?" Send your answer to competitions@roverstrust.co.uk. See our website for the Ts and Cs etc. Also, this Saturday there will be a chance to meet a couple of the Rovers Trust steering group, as we will be having a stall in the Mall in Blackburn town centre. We are there from 10am till noon. The aim of this is to be available for anyone passing by who has any questions about the Trust, and there will also be sign up forms to join the Trust there and then (£10 a year for adults, £5 for juniors). There will also be some of our fast selling Rovers Trust Replica shirts, which are £29,99, seen below. So if you are in town this Saturday, and have questions, then call in and see us before midday.
CapeTownRover Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Paul, after this latest outburst from Shebby, would you guys still use the "being nice" tactic or would you now consider having a pop at him? i know you guys are trying to build some sort of dialogue with these people, but is it worthwhile to continue trying to let this guy continue with his ridiculous comments? its never a good thing to go down to his level, so i understand that, however, it is a very insulting comment to tell the fans who are trying to help, that they are unable to run a bar, let alone a club. To add insult to inury, that comes from a guy who himself has never run a club of this size before, actually he hasnt run any club before of any size, to come out with this @#/?. would really like to get a joint view from both the Trust and the 2 Ian's, either through a joint statment in response to the clown, or as 2 seperate responses.
Blackburn Ender Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Here's the difference between the Trust, Seneca and Singh: http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/10372402.Pair_hit_back_in_Singh_row/ I'm pleased Simon Garner has been asked his opinion though. He's the right man to answer Singh's comments. Very sensible and heartfelt words and shows the gap between Garner's obvious love for Rovers and Mr Singh is a rather large one.
