As a trust member id just like to say I'm happy with the dignified and professional way they've responded to Shabbys latest bs ramblings.

And I would say they happy to have such an anti brag dignified geezer on board

pot kettle! your a 1st class gob#####

I'm not quite sure how not being a fan of brag(post relegation and their ugly be-friending of Shabby Shyster) has anything to do with my support of the trust.

Perhaps the next bit of merchandise should be T-shirts with the Trust logo, and 'Tom' 'Dick' or 'Harry' printed on the front.

This will seem off-topic now (given the posts that have been hidden), but a reminder, personal attacks, however justified people feel they are, are not acceptable.

No wonder people complain about the atmosphere and community on here going to the dogs when every thread is littered with pointless bickering.

I've just voted...Would have been easier if the candiates has let us know more about themselves, like: Their favorite holiday destination, what they like for tea, what car they drive, colour of underpants and other interesting stuff. Kind of assumed they all liked Rovers and had already done lots of trust stuff. Boring!

Good Afternoon everyone,

I think all the fellow BRFCSers know me well enough to understand I always post exactly what I know to be true. Secondly I think you all know I would not hide a post without good reason. I have hidden BPF's and 47er's posts because there is NO BIG NEWS about to come from Rovers Trust.

In the last 40 minutes we have had half the world's media chasing us because of this post.

I repeat there is no news about to come from the Trust. Wayne and I have just spoken, we would both know if this was the case. You can be sure if the Trust had big news we would be releasing it as a PR and would be telling the media from every possible angle. As far as any member of the Trust Steering Group is concerned there is nothing about to happen.

I must stress I only hid 47er's post because he quoted BPF. Nothing more or less.

EDIT: I now know some media people have picked up a tweet re the Trust becoming minority shareholders in Rovers and have interpreted this as the Trust having bought the club! The Press Release now follows below.

OK here is the Press Release we have just made. It seems the twitter feed has been misread and there is an assumption spreading that Rovers Trust have just purchased the club.

We are extremely proud to announce the Trust have recently received a donation of shares from Stephen Halstead which now makes us a minority share-holder in Blackburn Rovers Football Club. The Trust believe this is very significant news for the Trust, its members and the fan base in general. We hope other shareholders will follow Stephen's example over the coming months.

Supporters become shareholders of Blackburn Rovers – Official

Rovers Trust, the official Blackburn Rovers supporters group, has succeeded in its primary aim – to officially become a shareholder of the club.

Loyal supporter Stephen Halstead has donated part of his family’s shareholding in Blackburn Rovers to the Trust for a nominal sum to enable it to question the running of the club in an official capacity.

Rovers Trust is now one of the main minority shareholders in Blackburn Rovers and will use its position to enable
the financial experts within the Trust to monitor the governance of the club and ask questions at the appropriate meetings.

Rovers Trust has a short term aim of becoming the second largest shareholder in Blackburn Rovers (currently Blackburn With Darwen Council) through further donations from minority shareholders, of which there are around 340, not including the Rao family which owns the majority stake in the club..

In the medium to long term, Rovers Trust aims to take a significant stake in Blackburn Rovers to ensure proper supporter representation in the running of the club.

Stephen Halstead, who now lives in Cheshire, said: “Something needs to be done. Rovers are a shambles
both on and off the pitch.

“Rovers Trust is aiming to be the second largest shareholder in the club and I have transferred part of my shareholding to them.

“I urge other shareholders to do the same to help them achieve that goal and have a voice in what happens.”

Dan Grabko, finance officer for the Rovers Trust, said: “We are tremendously grateful to Stephen for contributing a part of his family’s shareholding. We understand this is a decision made with consideration and care.

“And we are pleased he recognises that the Rovers Trust can do a lot of good work as an official shareholder.

“If other minority shareholders will donate their shares, in full or in part, to the Trust we can build up a stake in the club that will always be in the hands of supporters.

“The Rovers Trust will be the long-term repository of shares and will always use its position to legitimately question the running of Blackburn Rovers, on behalf of the supporters whoever owns the club.

“We can act in a unified way to press for answers particularly at times of turmoil within the club.”

Fans who are not shareholders can still help the Rovers Trust by becoming members. Hundreds of new members are joining week-by-week, but more members are needed to give as big a voice as possible to the club’s fans.

It costs just £10 per year (£5 for juniors) to gain full voting rights and a say in the direction Rovers Trust takes in its bid to take control of Blackburn Rovers.

Why hide posts though ? It's rumours and counter rumours etc that keep forums going ? Surely you could have posted the post you did with their posts still on ?

Edit ... I must have a good browser I can still see them ;)

I've been a Rovers supporter for over 50 years, but I must admit I have no idea who Stephen Halstead is, it was also news to me that Blackburn Council were the biggest minority share holders.

I'm sure this is available somewhere (perhaps someone can post a link ?) but how many other minority shareholders are there, and who are they ?

Just to echo Paul's comments, this is a good milestone and we thank the donor very much.

It is part of the very sensible strategy we have - active on several fronts - to become more involved in the club.

We will, of course, use this shareholding extremely responsibly, but also actively.

Shareholders in any company have a duty to question the governance of said organisation. We intend to to do so and would be happy to talk to any other shareholder who wants us to act on their behalf.

Neither should you. He is a private individual who has agreed to help the cause.

See the press release above, but around 340.

The info is available from Companies House for a very small fee.
