I wonder how he will remain accountable whilst in office, presumably he will claim that the election was the accountability test.

It's the old 'pin a red rosette on a pig' truism at work in these parts. The consequences unfortunately are there for all to see when they stroll around most towns in this area. Unfortunately only people my age and older can remember what a fine and prosperous old town Blackburn was in better times.
