David vaughn please. Cracking centre mid at subderland who's been told he can go. Great drive, comnitment, passing and a great shot! Wouldn't break the bank and that left foot would add balance to our centre midfield.

Good footballer Vaughn, behind Charlie Adams was BPools 2nd best player in the EPL. If he's available Id happily take him.

I know we need some championship players but we aren't half being linked with some @#/?. Wes Thomas can't get in Bournemouth side but hello,,, been on loan at Pompey and Blackpool. Scott Wiseman, in and out of relegation favourites Barnsley's first 11. Lee Williamson - injury prone 30 yr old - we've had enough of them.

Why do we only seem to be looking at ex Pompey, or Blackpool players?. New head of recruitment not setting world on fire.

If we can't entice any good, proven championship players in this window, then lets not fill the squad with dross, wait till summer.then we can spend the Rhodes money

I have no doubt that scenario is on the Venky agenda !

But no where near the full fee ......

I'd get rid of Robinson, Givet, Jorge, Edinho, Henrique, Rosado, Vuckevic and Goodwillie. Add that to the players who have already gone - Formica, CKR (?), Ribiero and Anderson.

I'd keep Nunes, Etuhu, Gomes. Pedersen has done pretty well under Appleton so far and is probably worth keeping for his set pieces. Dunn is a Rovers legend and part of the future coaching staff so I'd keep him.

Nunes will be a future star for us, Etuhu will come good and Gomes is quality when he plays.

Why, he's second top scorer in the Championship? When we bought him we were buying a player only proven in the third tier. Not sure whether you were saying it in jest but his value would have surely increased on what we paid for him by the summer.

People might argue that Rhodes hasn't enough in his all round game about him to play in the Premiership but I could quite easily see one of the newly promoted sides next season taking a punt on him.

I think what Waggy's saying is that there's no way Venky's will let us spend the full amount of cash we get for Rhodes.

Undoubtedly he's worth at least what we paid for him. It would be more if we hadn't overpaid by at least £2m!
