Looking at getting my wife a digital camera for Christmas mainly because we are expecting a new Rover in May and I expect that she will go photo crazy when it is born.

Basically looking for a reasonably priced digital camera, easy enough to use, that takes decent photos/videos.

Anyone got anything they could recommend?

i will suggest that you look at the Canon range of digital cameras, as well some of the Sonys and Samsungs. i know you are looking for an affordable camera, but i would seriously consider the SLR camers if you can afford it, as it deffinately takes better pics, and also its a real good investment imo. Im looking into that, but not to purchase right now, as i just recently purchased a home lol

It is still an IT at the moment as we haven't had the second scan as yet. Although that is next week.

A quick Google suggests it's available around that price everywhere. Amazon's RRPs are a load of nonsense.

Incidentally, so is there policy on tax payment. I spent hundreds there last christmas. Haven't spent a penny this year. Shame more people are boycotting.

Depends if you want a DSLR or just a normal compact digital camera.

If it is the latter then I would recommend Lumix camera's very highly. I've had mine for nearly three years now and if/when it breaks I'll be getting another one.
