Brown nosers only invited today??

What a load of sh!te that was, typical Animal Farm, Venkys Agnew are playing the fans for fools. The sooner we go bump and start again the better. Slow deaths arent good for anyone.

Do you think that some people there tonight were 'pre-selected'?

And you know his not .. Right ?

So there's gonna be a mrs D statement .... Can't wait ;)

I didn't say he was or he wasn't - I don't know - but I am prepared to see how this pans out before totally judging him. At the moment - I think things have improved since he became involved - doesn't undo all the bad done by our owners, but it is a start. At least he appears passionate about football.

Lots of different opinions on here.

However, the root cause of all the bickering, unhappiness, anger, frustration and confusion is pure and simple – Venky's.

Until they sell up and bugger off, more fans will have a problem with them than those that don't.

There's no way back for them. Everyone that's associated with them is largely despised – no matter what they say or try to do. While I have a small amount of respect for Shebby putting his head above the parapet, his efforts have been and will continue to be futile.

Look at the people at the heart of the club right now:

Shebby is Venky's puppet. He's largely hated for that reason.

Agnew was Kean's biggest fan. He's hated by everyone.

Shaw was recommended and brought in by Agnew. He's largely disliked for that reason.

Brunskill was the first team coach under Kean. He doesn't have a large support.

Eric Black was employed by Kean. I think he's an honest bloke, but history largely precedes him.

Until there's a complete change of administration, our club will always be blighted by suspicion and questions.

A far cry from the good old days.

Shebby is what he is, a go between - the club & everyone connected and Venkys and also a firefighter at ground level- nothing more and nothing less. I don't doubt he's a decent bloke with the right intentions unlike Kean/Agent etc but he's a complete amature who's just flapping around hoping for the best. The way the club is now run is small time and that's were we will end up. Every lower league club wants to get young players and mold a young team and sell them on, most lower league teams try and give rookie managers a go hoping they will cut the mustard.

Two comment's really stood out tonight - we've not discussed names for transfer window even though it's only two weeks away.

We can't go and spend 20 mill on a player but if we see a young player we think wil be worth 20 mill we be after him.

Refusing to acknowledge the real problems again, which has been a catalyst of Venkys rein and their obsession with signing young players hoping they strike it lucky whilst failing to realise that's been one of the reasons the team we have is so under performing !

Didn't listen to it but if you read the comments around pages 3-5 in this thread and then the recent ones, it sounds like Shebby did well. So either things will improve now or it will become apparent that some fans never learn...hmm, wonder which.

Eh? I did listen to it but you seem to be talking about something entirely different because it gave me no confidence in the future but confirmed my low opinion of Shergbeth

Well that directly cuts across Berg's statement of a day or two ago where he specifically blamed inexperience for our run of poor results and intimated he'd be looking to bring older players in in January!

Does Shebby think at all before he speaks or is he intending to do what he wants irrespective of what Berg wants? Shambles!

Actually no; "brown nosers only" weren't invited. If you look at the original post - you had to email in. And it was first come first served. So it was a fair and diligent process from the BBC's and Andy Bayes part. There was a good cross section of fans. Some old, some young (Jack being one) some middle aged. Some affiliated with groups, some not. So was a wide selection, which was vitally important so as to get a wide scope of opinions and questions across.

Well it failed

It certainly seems to be the case for most if not all the people on here, that it failed. If Andy arranges another, strongly urge you and others if you're local to Blackburn to make the trip, so as to get answers to your questions.

My personal opinion is Shebby is full of hot air, more so than a hot air balloon, but he's making an effort by agreeing to do this sort of thing. Last year at the first radio forum, noone from the club turned up and it was just Alan Nixon and Mick Rathbone. To me that was more of a failure than tonight - in that the club weren't represented so nothing could be asked like tonight - even though we did get a load of Kean!

Didn't listen to it but reading on here that is the part that stood out. Two days after Berg calls for more experience, Singh says we've got 3 young CB's out on loan who could come in to the team. We'll see in january who is the puppet and who is the master.

Also, Singh slagging the loyalty of the fans is frankly disgusting. We averaged 20K last time we went down, so we can't all be glory hunters. Kean slagged the fans too. Nothing's really changed. Venky's and Singh are a disgrace. They're lucky that 10k turn up. They deserve an empty ground.

Did you not read the thread on here inviting people ???? If you dont like those who went, then you cant really criticise them if you didnt get off your own arses and do something.

Firstly I'm no apologist for Shebby or the Venkys but there is a need to correct a part of the general impression on here, thoughh I suspect people don't really want to listen

Could you explain why I'm a "brown noser" in your view. I find that pretty offensive and it's also completely untrue. If you mean we all treated Shebby, the presenter and the programme with respect then perhaps it just demonstrates the right people were there?

Well it failed

The objective was to give fans the opportunity to have a live Q&A with Shebby. How did it fail? If in your view it did fail the answer is simple, next time apply for tickets and ask your own questions. None of the audience attended with any sort of mandate or claim to represent any other supporter, we were there to ask our personal question.

It's difficult to question in a really logical way. For example Shebby made several contradictory statements that related to potential January signings. The difficulty with questioning this is one might have t wait twenty minutes to get in by which time the opportunity has passed by. Secondly the presenter tried to ensure everyone got in a question which just increaaed the problem of people apperaing to go off on a tangent

Did I imagine it or did he mention that the next manager could be chosen by fans via a poll or similar?

Yes he did but this is another example of fans taking the point out of context. Shebby established the room was split on who should have been appointed manager. He then made a joke of it about an election. There was a serious point behind the joke, namely the club have to make the decision and it won't be universally popular.

I don't feel there were real answers last night but we all have to face the fact that under the present ownership and with Shebby in charge we are not going to get those answers under any circumstances.

Was this exercise going to end any other way?

At least they did something.

I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist anyway. I reckon that while everyone is looking at Shebby and trying to work out where he is coming from, the real action is going on elsewhere.

Shebby the Blue Herring.

Paul , shabby doesn't deserve any respect whatsoever after saying non attending fans are not rovers fans but football fans.

There is an element of truth in that Abbey, I work with a few guys who used to go to Ewood who now go to Wigan, they just want to watch affordable Premier League football.

Please, Paul is no brown nose, he was the only one to have the clown SS on the ropes with a well thought out question re finance.

Stop trying to criticise the likes of Paul when your aim should be Venkys, SS, Agnew ans Shaw.

totally agree everyones anger should be Venkys , SS , Agnew , etc ...thats why a 24 hour protest like last year needs to be at least discussed and then put in place

Apologies to yourself and anyone else who did ask any searching questions of Shebby.

My anger should be directed at Venkys but cant understand those who appaulded their spin doctor.

Whilst Shebby is a fool and I greatly resent any praise given to him for his role in this mess, I do agree that most if not all ire should be directed at Venky's and/or Paul Agnew. Shebby is just a comedy sideshow distraction and not something the fans should be focusing on.
