Backroom Tom Posted December 7, 2012 Backroom Posted December 7, 2012 Good news. Lets hope it doesn't emerge that he has a £2.50 release clause
USABlue Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 And let's hope the contract does not have him drop the effort as it sometimes does once players get a fat contract.
Kelbo Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Adam is not that kind of lad and has a very supportive family who wont let him forget his roots, I think I can be pretty confident on that!
Muddboy Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Really pleased about Henley committing his future. A great prospect and a level-headed kid to boot. A superb combination. Love the way he turned up to sign his contract in a suit and shirt. Obviously has high standards and is a proud lad. Good luck to him.
davulsukur Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Great news. This needed to be done as I could see vultures circling with him getting a run in the team.
bluebruce Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Provided there isn't a stupid release clause or a ridiculously disproportionate wage (both very possible at our club), this is fantastic news. Far too many times even before venkys, we've signed our players onto contracts that are far too short. I'm very pleased this one is five years. Gives us security and means we won't be under pressure to renew and boost it in a year or two.
Mercer Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Hope this is a sign that lessons may have been learnt from the Hoilett debacle. Seems a level headed lad with a fair bit of potential, let's hope he kicks-on and develops into a top class player.
Adam C Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Brilliant news. Too much to hope that he will spend his entire career here but at least we will hopefully get some decent money for the lad. He looks like he has a great career ahead of him, it is a source of pride for me that Rovers constantly produce some real gems through the youth system.
chaddyrovers Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 great news for rovers and Adam. will be rovers right back for years to come
47er Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Look how close we were to losing him. Didn't even train with the first team after his outstanding performances last season! I'm convinced Kean was put on this earth to destroy our club! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20692765?
Athlete Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Look how close we were to losing him. Didn't even train with the first team after his outstanding performances last season! I'm convinced Kean was put on this earth to destroy our club! http://www.bbc.co.uk...tball/20692765? may still do if someone comes in with a bid as we haven't many more prized assets left to sell
Sparky Marky Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Thought today showed its far too early for this lad to be playing first team football. Delphonso bullied him proper today and his decision making was poor. Maybe in 12 months
John Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 The fans too fall into the hype of a young prospect - some cream themselves far too early.
Hughesy Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Thought today showed its far too early for this lad to be playing first team football. Delphonso bullied him proper today and his decision making was poor. Maybe in 12 months Yes because nobody else has a bad game.... To be fair to him, he's done alright so far this season - experience will improve him, id keep him in the team
Sparky Marky Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Keep him in the side and you risk him being targeted. Blackpool started to send most of their high balls over that way once they sussed delphonso had him. It could be too much too early...just doesn't look ready to me. The rest are just craap and can all feck off....
Salgado Is A Hero Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Well Orr, Salgado, Emerton, Jacobsen and Chimbonda have all gone meaning Lowe and Ribeiro are the only ones who can play there. We need Lowe in CM and I don't think I've seen Bruno play RB although I've seen Henley there and he's generally impressed me and we could do with as much pace in the side as possible.
Howler Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 he's a young lad learning his trade, will have good and bad games. Seems talented and mobile enough, just needs games to get experience and a good right winger to help him out, both going forwards and defending. Good luck with that one!!
den Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 If we had an option at RB, now would probably be a good time to give him a break.
riverside returns Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 If we had a cm enforcer protecting the back 4 then it would be less of an issue. He is good enough and oldenough and the experience gained will be invaluable.
mhead Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 We badly need a Group of young British players who decide "WE are going to do it as a group" Henley,Hanley,Rhodes,Kean(GK) and 3 others with Dunny showing some leadership. Get Gally back and some of the Blackburn/Lancs old boys. It will be in league 1 BUT at least it will be OUR Club.
Andy Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 The only thing Dunn could lead is the queue at the kebab house. However, having a core of talented young British players would indeed be the ideal scenario, as per the last time we were promoted from this division. We have a number of players in the youth team who surely couldn't so any worse than the likes of Dann, Etuhu and Murphy. If we're heading downwards we might as well ship out the high-earning deadwood and start playing the young lads.
chaddyrovers Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I believe he is out for 3 to 4 weeks due to the injury he picked up on Saturday really shame for the lad. been excellent since coming in to play at Right Back
JAL Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Gutted for Henley, the team and the fans, as hes a key member to a winning team.
Amo Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 So who'll be playing right-back now? Lowe? Vukcevic?
