Wayne Wild Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Burnout? Not quite yet and if it were ever to happen it would not be because of footballing matters but because of endless nonsensical conspiracy theories, fans plotting against the Club from within, fans who would rather see the current owners fail than the Club do well, fans who'd rather see us go into administration than the current owners do well, fans splintering into different factions along the Judean Peoples Front and Peoples Front of Judea lines, and fans who think a top flight football club can be sustained by other fans raiding their piggy banks and savings accounts. I feel compelled to reply to this. To accuse fans who had and still have genuine concerns for the future of their club of plotting against the club and wanting the owners to fail is at best naive and and worst utterly hurtful and disrespectful. However various groups interact and have some issues with each other, ultimately they have been formed due to the exceptionally poor way our football club has been run. The people leading these groups plough hours of hard work and effort into their causes, as well as great personal expense. To add to that a derisory comment about piggy banks is even more disrespectful. Help where you can, ignore if you want but please consider your comments before posting on a public site critical comments about the fans when clearly the world knows the problems start with the people who make the major decisions, not fans who pay hard earned money to follow their team.
Ewoodbhappy Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 RividgeBlue & Wayne's comments above just show what the current regime have done to our club & it's supporters. Both are passionate fans & both want the best for Rovers. When - and it will happen eventually - the cr@p ships out of Ewood, it will be us fans who have to pick up the pieces. Don't let the bast@tds grind US down.
PAFELL Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Venkys have destroyed the club as we knew it One fallout from this has been the absolutely pathetic fan politics which in honesty is now contributing to making me want to walk away from the whole thing at times None of this would have happened if they used common sense and let John Williams continue to run things at Ewood I've also wonder if destroying the fan base. Is also part of venkys plans. No fans would mean no reason to have a club. So they could close it down. Sell club assets then.
Pedro Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 All the indications are that we are facing supporter burn out. For most supporters, Rovers are a combination of a source of entertainment and of local pride When this combination works together it is an incredible and potent force for both the club and community. However, it is critically reliant on both elements being present and the passion engendered can become destructive in the anguish of loss. We have been suffering that pain for a long time now and my fear is that we are all becoming immune and dulled. Rovers Yep, I agree some feel like that. Personally, I'm conditioned to losing, totally devoid of belief and excitement on matchdays and I have a massive gap in my life where I used to feel pain and worry when we lost, or euphoria whenever we won.
philipl Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 Yep, I agree some feel like that. Personally, I'm conditioned to losing, totally devoid of belief and excitement on matchdays and I have a massive gap in my life where I used to feel pain and worry when we lost, or euphoria whenever we won. Sadly, this is by far the most dangerous situation for the club. Thousands and thousands of supporters are being lost forever.
SamTheShrew Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 You nailed it right there Pedro. There is no enjoyment to BRFC anymore.

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 16, 2012 Moderation Lead Posted December 16, 2012 For once I agree with the OP (Philipl), who'd have thought? It takes so much energy out of me watching Rovers, I can't just walk away easily like some can as I don't want to be driven away...Rock and a hard place and all that!!!!
RoverScot Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I will never tire of following the 11 players in the Blue and White halves representing Blackburn Rovers football club. They can be 11 awful players playing the Blue Square North league. However, I want them to have the best possible chance of succeeding by the people running the football club when they go onto the pitch. No matter how much Venkys spend they can't and won't get it right without the best structure possible being in place. If Shebby is their answer to relegation, they will never get it right and should exit the club in a professional manner that has been sadly lacking so far during their tenure.
old darwen blue Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I'm not going anywhere no matter what. I'm not letting the owners think that I would give in before them and that is precisely why I personally would never boycott a game. Its my club for life, theirs only temporarily.
broadsword Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 How do you know it's theirs only temporarily? They may still be owners in 50 years. Who will force them to sell?

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Have we ultimately been spoiled by what happened under Jack Walker, have our expectations been raised way above what they should be?.Under Venky's I fear we are returning to what we once were,a run of the mill average club with little expectation beyond a decent cup run.I think a sad reality is dawning on most fans and that is being reflected in general apathy and gates at Ewood. Its sad to say but the good times we did experience under JW were never going to last...cherish those memories.
mhead Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 No! SG194 we have been vandalised. The Venkys want promotion....we are on the way to League 1. The Venkys want to use BRFC to enhance their brand....the BRFC brand has been keaned The Venkys want to Internationalise the Rovers....even the 20,000 hard core are disillusioned, dispirited and totally depressed. In 2 short years most of us do not care about the results,or whether we attend or what match is on the television. In 1966 England won the World Cup.....Rovers got relegated. In 2012 Britain had the finest year of sporting success in living memory....and the Rovers went into meltdown. No energy,no spirit,no leaders,no heroes and no 'crowd'.
broadsword Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The whole thing's so painful, and it shows no signs of ending. It's just absolute torture. There's nothing any of us can do, I don't think.
Mr. E Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 It's astonishing really. Venkys have come in like the grim reaper and raped and pillaged this club beyond all recognition...but it's all legal and accepted under FA rules because Venkys "passed the ownership test" when taking control. It's not just Rovers, the whole sport has been tainted for me. More like dropped into a pool of acid. The American sports might be silly with their franchises, but they actually have rules and regulations that protect teams from being destroyed like this. I don't know what Rovers will be like when Venkys finally leave us be, or even if there will be a Rovers, but seeing these ********* leave our club will at least offer a minimal, albeit sad satisfaction. Have we ultimately been spoiled by what happened under Jack Walker, have our expectations been raised way above what they should be?.I fear we are returning to what we once were,a run of the mill average club with little expectation beyond a decent cup run.I think a sad reality is dawning on most fans and that is being refelected in general apathy and gates at Ewood. Its sad to say but the good times we did experience under JW were never going to last...cherish the memories. Not at all. Look at all the new clubs currently competing in the Premiership. Many can describe them as "run of the mill and average," but they are stable and operating under a good football model. One we exemplified and perfected for many years even after Jack was gone. Then Venkys came and basically cut off our head where we stood.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The whole thing's so painful, and it shows no signs of ending. It's just absolute torture. There's nothing any of us can do, I don't think. So very painful indeed when we remember how hard JW and everyone at the club pushed for succes back in the 90's...we were nigh on unstoppable with good decent people at the helm, how proud were we all! Venky's have shat all over JW'S legacy,a once proud club...that for me is totally unacceptable and unforgivable.A 134 year old institution is being destroyed and as you rightly state, there appears sweet FA we can do about it.
Athlete Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 IMO the protests should never ended until Venkys depart the club but along came Shabby the fool and a few fell under his cheeky charm....1st time I saw him on SSN being announced as global advisor ...I cringed ...just look how far we've sunk under these clowns ! Venkys have torn the club apart from top to bottom every major decision they have made has been wrong and detrimental to the club ( apart from the free refreshments at wolves + stand naming )... Shabby Singh , Shaw , Agnew and the Rao's have to go before this club begins to pick up again
