Paul Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 At the BBC Radio Lancashire evening with Shebby Singh my question revolved round the club's financial position now and in the future. The accounts show a loan from Venkys / the Raos of £21m. My understanding of how this is secured is rather vague but it seems to be there. Prior to my question Shebby emphasised three times the family were prepared to back the club financially. I requested a confirmation from the owners this would continue. Initially my question received an answer regarding the AGM and the accounts being filed. I had to point out this information - a £9.8m operating loss and loans of at least £21m in the last financial year - was published in the Telegraph. I asked him to request a statement from the family, not the club, within two weeks of the broadcast, confirming Venkys / the Raos would support the club financially. That would be due by 26th December. I guess we should appreciate the Christmas holidays may get in the way but it would still be good to see a response by the end of the month. At first Shebby offered a statement from the club but after some insistence from myself understood the supporters see a difference between a club statement and one from the family. I await the out come with interest!

AggyBlue Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Would you believe it if you got a positive statement? I wouldn't
Kamy100 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I have asked via Pune regarding this, no answer yet.

CapeTownRover Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I think we all know the outcome of this, there will be no statement from the V's... Cleared off all the debt when they bought the club, yeh right. All they did was put more debt on us, instead of using their own money
dr_awol Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Would you believe it if you got a positive statement?I wouldn't *** So what does it matter then if they release a statement?
Eddie Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 ...because if they dont release some sort of a statement then we will no for sure that the answer is no.
Rover_Shaun Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 The Rao's are still in a state of confusion from back in May

OJRovers Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Yes, I don't think we've heard from them since their less than inspiring "confused" speech.

Torgeir Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 It doesn't make a difference how money they pledge unless they start making some right decisions on how that money is spent. So far their money has been going down the drain. Venky's out, football in.
watford-rover Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 i think we all know here deep down that there will be no message from the family regarding our financial implications. even if there was i personally wouldn't believe it.
Exiled in Toronto Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 The absence of any statement will mean nothing more than the believeability of a statement, anyone remember Mr Egerton-Vernon's one and only message telling us there was a pot that was topped up by the other businesses and there would be no change in the fulfillment of Jack's wishes? Of course the Raos may just not like being told what to do by random fans and say nothing anyway. And back the club for how long? Next week? Forever?

They will NOT be told what to do by anyone, this was the case when they took over and is the case now and forever The predicted culture barrier is in place and unbreachable
John Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Yup, don't like being told what to do and don't listen either, that is why we can never progress under these owners.
broadsword Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 They may get told what to do by the administrators. They'd have no choice then I'd suspect.

Stuart Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Yup, don't like being told what to do and don't listen either, that is why we can never progress under these owners. Progress? Right now I'd settle for halting the decline!
John Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Guess the problem I was trying to make is that with fundamental structural problems/issues we can never do well - short term gimmicks from the owners etc don't wash.
Athlete Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Think we are all starting to come to terms with we are a club which is crashing in slow motion
