How these people can even show their faces, or what they can even say is beyond me. How is it possible to take a mid-table former Premiership champions club and send them firmly on their way to League 1 in such a short period of time is astounding.

Derby's away form is pretty desperate, (but then our home form isn't the best, either ...) and the same for Huddersfield. A week next Tuesday I think everything will be much clearer.

We'll only be taking a maximum of two points form the last 4 games methinks.

The annoying thing is all it takes is some of our players to show a bit of fight and we'd survive relatively easily

Problem is without doubt we have the biggest bunch of yellow bellies around and we will go down without even a fight which is totally unacceptable

Players have had such an easy ride

Won away to Leeds last time out, I think.

Partly agree but we do have some real dross now & players not equipped to produce / take chances.

A desparate lack of pace & width.

Rhodes cannot play on his own uptop, he's just not that type.

We're basically gonna have to 'get lucky' to take a point off anyone we play. Both sets of fans will be watching the Huddersfield game peeking through their fingers.

Yes, quite correct, Jim. However, that's the only one of their last 8 they've won away:

Drew 1-1
v CHAR..
Lost 2-1
v BRIG..
Drew 2-2
v SHEF..
Lost 2-1
v HULL..
Lost 2-1
v WATF..
Drew 1-1
v CARD..
Lost 3-1
v BIRM..

Won 2-1
v LEED.

We should be looking to get 4 points from them and Hudds, but I doubt we will.

Here's Hudds' away record:

Lost 6-1
v LEIC..
Lost 4-0
v WATF..
Lost 3-0
v DERB..
Lost 6-1
v NOTT..
Won 1-0
v BURN..
Lost 4-1
v BRIG..
Won 2-1
v LEED..

Lost 1-0
v BOLT..

Leeds have really gone downhill, clearly.

Here's our home record:

Lost 2-1
v CHAR..
Drew 1-1
v BRIG..
Won 2-0
v BRIS..
Won 1-0
v IPSW..
Drew 0-0
v LEED..
Lost 3-2
v PETE..
Drew 1-1
v BURN..
Drew 1-1
v BLAC..

I know things look desperate but I honestly think that we will win our next two home games (Derby & Hudders) and therefore survive.

This might fly in the face of logic but I can't see us going down - it's just a gut feel.

no fight, passion or desire left in the players and management alike. face it gents, there's some good aways to be had next season when we'll be seen as a big club.

harsh, but true and the sooner the it's accepted then the better it is.Nobenders and Oldham will be rubbing their hands

Is that the same "gut feel" that said we'd avoid relegation last season and that we would "walk" this division after our good start to this season. Sorry old chap, but you're a clueless twerp.

What's your predictions for Derby and Hudds. Tom?

Gut instinct is draw with Derby and then a pathetic home loss to Huddersfield effectively sending us down

Looking at the next two fixtures, things are retrievable and could look a lot better next Tuesday evening. Huddersfield and Peterborough are the two I think are in the most danger.

Peterborough have Watford and Brighton at home next. Two very tough games. I can see them losing to watford and drawing to Brighton.

Huddersfield have Wolves and Rovers away. I expect them to lose to Wolves.

I honestly believe we'll beat Derby. If Peterborough do indeed lose to Watford we could go 3 points clear of them and if Hudds indeed lose then we could go 2 clear of them with the chance to open up a 5 point gap if we beat them. I actually think we'll draw against Hudds which would leave us 2 clear with a game in hand.

I don't know why but I'm actually feeling a little more positive about getting out of this with Hudds and Peterborough going down with Bristol.

As this is Rovers though, I'm prepared for this optimism to disappear pretty quickly but if we do survive then I think we'll look back at the draw between Peterborough and Hudds as being a key result.

call yourself supporters?? The first time in nearly 20 years that the club is threatened and you're all ready to either look away or pretend the club doesn't matter. You are PATHETIC.

Natural to be bit bipolar in this situation.

I thought losing on Saturday had condemned us, but now I think there is a chance we could scab a win over derby. The essential point is we're only one game away from getting out of it, but we have to win, and thereafter pick up points. And that's the issue. Winning is a habit, but so is losing.

I still think we'll go, but we still have a chance to save ourselves with these next two games. Realistically, this is our last chance saloon.

It is still certainly retrievable. Every week now I just think we're gone but then you look at the table and one win takes a team out of it and one loss puts you back in it.

If we take 4 points from the next 2 then we'd only need 4 points from the last 4 for survival. Once we get that win we may just win a couple. That's what happened to Wolves. We beat Derby and we have a real chance. Lose or draw and we can forget it.

The problem will come the week we have Watford away. We'll lose that one whereas Hudds will beat Millwall, Wolves will beat Charlton, Sheff W will beat Ipswich and Peterb could beat Derby.

Win the next two and we're pretty much safe I would say. Surely we have to pick up a win soon?!

Yes, I'm almost tempted to say that we'll beat Derby because even the worst teams win every so often, law of averages, etc.

It's incredible that I'm dreaming of us beating Derby at home, but this is the situation we find ourselves in. Bowyer thinks that 55 points could be the target, I can't see us getting that. 53 points, yes.

Saturday is too difficult to call. We could just turn up and run up the white flag and get done by 2, or we could play so-so and scab a 1-0.

My head says we'll go down without a fight. Even if we stay up, it's against a backdrop of civil war in the boardroom, gross incompetence and lingering questions about finance.

Bleak times.

That's rich coming from someone who posts so much sh1te and clearly doesn't know his ass from his elbow.

Keep taking those pills !

That's the problem, Bryan. In the grand scheme of things it probably makes no difference whether we stay up or go down this season. If the bigger problem that is the owners and the boardroom remain then we'll be in the same situation next year. We're going to be in constant decline until they leave. Staying up would just give us a slight reprieve but wouldnt stop the decline.

Going down and getting rid of venkys would be far better than staying up with the bigger picture in mind. However, there's of course no guarantee they would sell if we went down. Just have to keep suffering the pain until they leave and then we can start to move forward again.

Bryan, come on you are a long standing fan. You know that we (Rovers) always cure what ails them (the opposition) If they haven't scored for a year bam they score against us, havent won whoosh win against us. It's always the case. I predicted 4 points in the last 7 games, now six. I wonder if we will even hit that.

Take some antacid, it must be gas Mercer. Everything about this team is roll over and die. Hudds will come here and simply want it and be up for it more than we will. It will be like Wigan all over again. I can not think of a single game where where this lot has raised there game for an occasion (the Arse excepted). The two games against the dingles are perfect testament, Sheff Wed would be another, Millwall with a chance of an FA Cup semi another. After all their talk of heroics we fell flat on Saturday. Cometh the hour and all that, sadly do we have men in Blue and White halves anymore. I don't think so with the odd exception. My gues is right before kick off against Derby and Hudds many of our players will be discussing their holidays and where they want to play next year.

The time for talk has ended, step over that white line and show us.

I know, I know. But all this negativity's getting me down. I'm trying to be positive knowing full well I'm likely to be disappointed.

At least come the 17th we will be (more or less) put out of our misery. Because if we haven't got at least one win by then (and in all likelihood, 2 will be needed) then it's goodnight Vienna.
