Plastic Head Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Advertise, interview (with an older experienced ex-manager on the panel) mark the candidates on their interviews and also on their past performance and experience and offer the job to the successful candidate. How hard can it be really? Why are nobheads pulling names out of their empty brains and putting them on short lists as is reported? You could find someone wandering around outside the old market who could do that.

perthblue02 Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Everything goes through Ewood. Nothing comes direct to Pune. If anything tried, it would be redirected back to Ewood before the family saw it.A certain agent continues to try, but it all goes back to Ewood and is filed in Shebby's office under 'Trash". Wow, two crumbs of comfort in one day, In your personal view obviously based on what you hear etc , do the family understand the importance of this appointment, what's needed and the standard of manager needed, and more importantly is any appointment subject to any financial constraint or is money no object to get the right person etc?
AlanK Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Still fully expecting everyone to know who the new Manager is going to be before the day ends. Does not look likely The owners have not selected one off the list, so how could I possibly know the final name? If they aint picked one yet So how will they appoint one by the end of the day?
Proudtobeblue&white Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 So MG, who are the other 4 or so? At least we can have a proper debate!
AlanK Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 The latest I know is the Manager appointment has been sanctioned and will more than likely occur after the cup game. Changed your mind? I`m sorry Glen but for someone in the know you are as much in the dark as the rest of us. Stop believing your own hype.
Dunnfc Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Thank you Bob, finally a proper questionNo im not confirming Peter Taylor as Manager and have not even stated he would be Manager, I was trying to get involved in the debate. It appears everyone else thinks Peter Taylor is the new Manager. I simply stated people are asking for an experienced Manager then when one comes up for discussion they say not that one. Announcement has been delayed Yes, and this is all being done out in Pune, hence leaks are not leaks but just rumours I think allot of people respect what you have tried to achieve Glenn, i sure do! What i'm saying though is that your views regarding Taylor (Give him a chance) seem to be a 180 turn from when McKinlay was linked. Do you concur with that? If so Why the sudden turn around? I think the term experienced manager needs to be addressed to Singh on our behalf Glen, We want a successfull proven experienced manager, with a decent transfer and sports fitness record... not some experienced failure. Whilst i appreciate its only a rumour you seem to have extinguished the flame for Hughes and Di Matteo without chucking water on this Peter Taylor fire... Hence the climax with people thinking you know.

All I can say with 100% certainty is that whilst they are very impressed with Gary Bowyers work so far, they are still looking for a new permanent manager. More potential names come in every day - This is likely why the announcement day keeps changing.
ABBEY Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 venkys tick tock tock ...its the transfer window ticking.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I don't get it, manager ready to be sanctioned, Taylor a wild card via knowing a W*nkys employee, MG sez he's one of a few, wow! At least now we know we know nowt (northern word)
koi Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 So MG, who are the other 4 or so? At least we can have a proper debate! John Barnes Peter Reid Bryan Robson Glenn Roeder
wazzarover Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 John Barnes Peter Reid Bryan Robson Glenn Roeder Stop giving them ideas!

They are children in need of guidance and evidently open to exploitation.
47er Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 It seems the owners are as stupid and arrogant as we thought they were. What makes them believe they have the knowledge to make this appointment? Club is just a plaything in their hands. Disaster beckons.
chaddyrovers Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Someone must be intent on self destruction if Taylor appointed:Rishi Sikka @Rishi_Sikka Informed that the likes of Roy Keane, Southgate and Curbishley all applied for Rovers job, however it won't be any of them. #Rovers Curbishley and Southgate would be good appointment and should be at least get an interview. dont want Keane tho. As others have said on here, don't think that Taylor is Shebby or Shaw 's choice, seems that he has found a way to go direct to owners. Alan Nixon has said this aswell Taylor's name has been thrown into the ring.... Along with at least 4 others which I know of.That's as far as he's gotten. IMO he's unlikely. would be interesting to see who those names are? Everything goes through Ewood. Nothing comes direct to Pune. If anything tried, it would be redirected back to Ewood before the family saw it.A certain agent continues to try, but it all goes back to Ewood and is filed in Shebby's office under 'Trash". good and the way it should happen Thank you Bob, finally a proper questionNo im not confirming Peter Taylor as Manager and have not even stated he would be Manager, I was trying to get involved in the debate. Waggy76 Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Mark Hughes for me or give it Bowyer ! All the rest of the names fill me with forboding !

I also don't know who is less deserving of the attention. When can we next see you on the telly saying absolutely nothing of interest to anybody?

More potential names come in every day - This is likely why the announcement day keeps changing. Thats all well and good MG, but who is vetting these names? I mean i live for football. I watch it at every opportunity and when i can't watch it i listen to it. But i'm sure as hell not qualified to chose the best man for the job. Your bosses seem to easily favour a candidate based on personal circumstance or simply level of friendship. We hear a very patronising message from your bosses today asking for full fan support and the hope of a brighter 2013, yet the very same day we are strongly linked with Peter Taylor. A manager who has proven himself to be poor in the transfer market (Ade Akinbiyi) and unable to build on a favourable media image from his England exploits. They need to learn that a football club will only prosper with a successful football manager and the recruitment of such a manger should be left to somebody who has worked in the game long enough to make the correct choice more often that not. FFS why can't they play things safe and appoint a proven manager such as Curbs? It is this needless recklessness which is a large reason they haven't been welcomed at Rovers.

Hence the climax with people thinking you know. With Mckinlay it was down to him being a coach and the members wanting a statement going out they wanted a Manager not a coach We issued a statement last week sayng an experienced Manager was now needed, which is still the case. Shebby has already been told, experienced proven Manager is needed not only by us, but by many. This was also stipulated last time but we ended up with Berg which for the life of me I will never understand why So until someone is appointed no-one can know for sure if that will or wont be the case.
Andy Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I didn't go today, had other things to do, but on speaking with mates who did watch the game, apparently the players were big on Bowyer and even CKR ran over to him after his goal. My brother in law who worked for Rovers at Brockhall for years has said that Bowyer is a top bloke, genuine and - in his opinion - a potentially cracking manager. I'm warming to the idea...

Thanks for answering, would it be possible to do a 48hr poll on this board regarding Peter Taylor, if a vast majority don't want could it be feasible via you Glenn to issue a no to peter taylor statement?

The action group represents the action group alone and not the majority of fans This board isn't an action group board so a poll wouldn't be accurate as to their views
chaddyrovers Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Will people please face facts that Hughes isnt coming back. not interest in Rovers if Curbishley is interest in the job then he should get it for me. Other people I would have on a shortlist is Southgate, Karl Robinson, O'Driscoll, Davies. Amo Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Other people I would have on a shortlist is Southgate, Karl Robinson, O'Driscoll, Davies. Southgate... Whose only managerial achievement to date is getting Boro relegated?
