I didn't go today, had other things to do, but on speaking with mates who did watch the game, apparently the players were big on Bowyer and even CKR ran over to him after his goal.

My brother in law who worked for Rovers at Brockhall for years has said that Bowyer is a top bloke, genuine and - in his opinion - a potentially cracking manager.

I'm warming to the idea...

he said he didnt want it and the pressure that goes with it ..radio rovers

Not heard Radio Rovers but the other two interviews I've heard him give he gives the standard answers of "what will be will be". Never says he doesn't want it.

That's unlike Kean who, according to a Guardian article from a couple of years ago, " disregarded the time-honoured rules of caretaker management diplomacy, which dictate that coaches in his temporary position say they do not want the position full-time, at least at first. ..... (Kean) said he does want the job full-time – an apparent sign that he is emboldened by having the confidence of Anderson, his agent and adviser to the new owners."

The article is an interesting read in hindsight. It was from December 2010 and entitled:-

"How an agent came to hold so much power at Blackburn Rovers"

The action group represents the action group alone and not the majority of fans

This board isn't an action group board so a poll wouldn't be accurate as to their views

The action group are now winding fans up they never achieved their aim and all to cosy with Shebby at the walk in centre they don't represent the majority of fans only their own ego IMO they should disband and yes I went on the protests but now some individuals seem boxed off by a certain GA

Nail on the head, @#/? off BRAG

Just think, I was once a lone voice who said that. How times change.

Though to be honest - I read this information has not come via ewood. But Bahrain. Heard taylor has friends out there, who put his name forward. If it is true expect a reaction from shaw and singh as Taylor not either of their choice.

Will people please face facts that Hughes isnt coming back. not interest in Rovers

if Curbishley is interest in the job then he should get it for me.

Other people I would have on a shortlist is Southgate, Karl Robinson, O'Driscoll, Davies.

I notice this about Kaz running over to the bench.

looks like Bowyer has put confidence back into the players

Clearly they would not play for Berg. Whether that says more about them than Berg I'm not sure. They are playing for Bowyer so lets go for Taylor!

Taylor's name has been thrown into the ring.... Along with at least 4 others which I know of.

That's as far as he's gotten.

IMO he's unlikely.

MG.....I do hope this is right. My favourite post on this thread tonight.

Well your guess is wrong Eddie. We've been through the figures before. Come across to these parts and ask the fans who have left the club and you'll find a "decent percentage" [your words] have left because of one factor alone - Venky's.

Where's Blackburn exactly?

That in no way goes against what I said.

Blackburn's caretaker manager Gary Bowyer has ruled himself out of taking charge of the side permanently, despite guiding Rovers to a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Ruben Rochina, Jordan Rhodesspacer.gif and Colin Kazim-Richards secured a second successive victory for Bowyer but he revealed he has no desire to succeed Henning Bergspacer.gif on a full-time basis.

"I'm just giving the club a bit more time and then we'll see what that brings and what happens to myself and Terry (McPhillips)", said Bowyer.

"We've been here a long time, myself and Terry, and we care about the club so we're just helping out as much as we can.

"We're just carrying on and we'll keep carrying on until we're told otherwise and that's all we know."

Wont say too much on the matter apart from people have been asking for an experienced Manager, its not the supporters job to pick who that Manager is.

Whoever came in be that Bowyer, Davies or Taylor I would support, until they gave me reason not to. I.e they was shocking like Steve Kean

Peter Taylor has had success and failure, he has 7 promotions or so to his name. Has a great record with young players, is not a yes Man and is both a well respected coach and Manager who was even given the Caretaker role of the National team, whilst he was under 21 Manager.

He has had failures at a going out of business Bradford, not the best of times at Leicester or Palace, however what are people expecting?

We are currently a mid table Championship squad and resemble a banger from the bargain section at the car auctions after the last 2 years of distruction.

Hughes , Di Matteo dont want the job.

I have seen some asking for Billy Davies, but at the same time I have seen loads saying over their dead body. The same about O'Driscoll similar comments.

Whilst tonight on Twitter I have seen many asking for Bowyer to get the job, Is this not what got us in the mess when Kean was sacked?

As I stated last night, all the rumours were a million miles away.

The latest I know is the Manager appointment has been sanctioned and will more than likely occur after the cup game.

Ideally I'd like the new guy in now as it gives him over a week to look at what he has before seeing were he needs to add to the squad and who needs to go.

Any appointment is a gamble and brings no guarantee's, however as supporters all we can ask for is a Manager with Experience, and in Taylor he has bags of it.

Supporters dont pick Managers the club does, and I hope when the new guy comes in, he aint tried and committed before he even gets a chance to show us what he can do

???????????????????????????????

I dont normally comment on here anymore and prefer to give information to kamy or glenn. Seeing the comment by glen has made me change my mind, since when has a supporters group felt so popular that it endorses a potential manager choice that isnt proving universally as popular. Peter taylor started promising but ultimately was terrible down mainly to decisions he and he alone took. Im not here to endorse any candidate but would have to say billy davies and even phil brown have a more desirable track record. I feel the day supporters groups cross the line and try to justify a choice then its a bad day for club affairs and for the rest of the fan base. The manager will never get a hundred percent support but endorsing quite poor candidates smacks of there being something not right. As a fan not a businessman glen you are right to say we want experience but the best possible one and a man who clubs have been offered and run a mile from doesnt seem to be the best choice.

I agree.

This is getting ridiculous on here. Every time a name is tossed in by anyone everyone lines up to rubbish them and state how they will never darken the door of Ewood again if they get the job. Then you get these other people pretending to know what is going on and half the other folk seeming to believe their hype. Surely it's up to whoever is making the decisions to make a blimmin decision and I am certain that they aren't going to consult with any random self appointed fan spokesmen before making a decision. Then again I suppose this is Blackburn Rovers were talking about here so maybe I'm wrong.

I can't believe how influenced so many people are on here by the words of journos, betting odds and glorified fans.

Regardless of the odds, Peter Taylor isn't going to be the next manager of Blackburn Rovers so chill out. If you take a deep breath you with realise that the likes of Cryer and Glen simply exchange rumours and guesswork and are fed loads of bull...which they then filter back into the system on desperate supporters requests for...well, guesswork.

An informed guess should tell you that Savage is referring to Mark Bowen (if we go down the new to management/coach route). I personally think we will go for a compromise - someone with experience who can abide working with interference...I can think of a couple who fit that mould. History tells us that we can forget about an established, strong minded manager because the Venkys sacked one of those and have since only employed underqualified and inexperienced 'managers'.

Of course it does Eddie. You were making an argument that the fans who have deserted, have done so because of Championship football - rather than their dislike of Venky's.
