ABBEY Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I sometimes go depends on the price if I'm honest and I think that's pertinent, had this been £10 a ticket we would see less of a 'boycott' than we will now.Don't get me wrong we could give them away for free and still not sell out at the moment but I think the £15 for BBE will be putting a lot of season ticket holders off Ive always paid whatever it was tom, its down to making a stand for me this time.Ive convinced myself its an away game and cant arsed going. Think you guys have picked the wrong game to boycott Ewood tomorrow. One would think that you are using this as an excuse because its not such a high profile a game, silly really, when the young lads trot out tomorrow with a new inexperienced senior management team out there as well. excuse? not at all .

Ben-2000 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Not an excuse from me either. I aways attend the cup games usually, just have no intentions of doing so tomorrow.
Rover_Shaun Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Just my opinion of course... but the Burnley game should be the exception to any rule. Local pride is far more important than trying to prove a point. We need to fill the ground for this and put everything to one side even if its just for that one day. Like I said we will never force change because people don't have the stomach for it. The dingle derby is the ideal time to let them know the full force of our discontent when the attendance is very low DESPITE it being the one game all Rovers fans would love to see. Hence we are destined to suffer this fragmented madness until the bitter end
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 5, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted January 5, 2013 Not bothering with the Bristol City game, but I absolutely will not go and watch anyone instead of Rovers.

Ffs - it's like banging your head against an effin brick wall! It's not just this game - it's every home game. Because of recent events, ie. appointing Berg, sacking him, drawing up a managerial shortlist of absolute horse dung, extending things as they are until the end of January after implying the new man would be named on the day of the Forest game and generally everything that's happened over the last two years, I have been tipped over the edge.....finally! If nothing happens (fan action), nothing will change...........how hard is that to understand? In an ideal world two things could get Blackburn Rovers on course for a PL return :- (1) Venky's to sell the club to willing owners who are prepared to appoint football people to do the football jobs from boardroom to coaching and managerial positions. New owners to put aside modest amounts (as befits a mid table PL club) each year for player purchases. (2) Venky's to remain owners and being prepared to stay in the background, adopting the measures outlined in number one above. Now if anyone believes either option will take place without any action from the supporters they are living in cloud cuckoo land. So it's back to the point I've been making since the original post....do nothing and nothing will change. If any of you lot out there can suggest anything different I would be pleased to hear from you. The pitch at the Anchor Ground has beaten the weather and the game is on.
Claytons Left Boot Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 You're dead right CLB. Cheers den. Not too many on the Anchor today, att 93, yes ninety three. Nothing against Chorley, I used to work in the town in the 80s, and I want most of our local non league teams to do well, but why the love fest with them last year? Were there really 250 or so Rovers fans there when the call came? I was talking to a Rover at the game today who was boycotting Ewood like me, but out of an attendance of 93, there could only have been around 10 max doing the same. Great game, Darwen won 6-0 to go top, some decent players playing for the Salmoners. A good, honest game with no feigning injury, cheating or rolling over like little girls. How the game should be played. Think I'll be visiting again and soon.
Exiled in Toronto Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Glad you enjoyed it CLB, take me along next time I'm back there
Claytons Left Boot Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 Glad you enjoyed it CLB, take me along next time I'm back there You bet John, Tony as well. A couple of my mates go now and again (Rover and Stanleyite) so we'll have to see if we can get the gate over 100! There's a nice little clubhouse with seating, Sky TV and bar. Seating (albeit basic) down one of the sides and tiny open terracing behind the goals. I am told that there are plans to improve pitch drainage at the end of this season and also that an academy should also be on the go thereafter as well. AFC Darwen seem to be on the up and I'm really pleased for them. x 6!

Good to see that the history lives on
