IMO - If all goes to plan and this deal goes through I'm guessing there'll be a 60/40 split between people preferring Bowyer to the new man.

I can't see anybody being terribly unhappy about it though.

MG

if you're suggesting that 60% would rather keep Bowyer than go for this guy then what's the point. Of course we'll be unhappy if a sizeable majority would rather keep an unproven caretaker than take whoever you think it's going to be. The only reason to replace Bowyer and McPhilips if they are happy to carry on atm is to bring in someone that the majority of the fan base will be pleased to see come in; not someone who will not make us terribly unhappy. I'm not advocating keeping the caretakers in charge but if the Raos are pratting about and not bringing in anyone worth having, someone to reunite fans, players and those who are currently losing interest in the club, then honestly, why bother? They could spend the manager's salary/compo/whatever on a couple of loan signings who might just help us to play a bit better and earn the club some cash if we get more the higher we finish.

Came across the below on Twitter just now, apologies if already posted:

Had a great lunch with my old pal Shebby Singh. #brfc fans you are in safe hands! A great young manager is set to be announced ..#BHAFC

No idea who this fella is, but he thinks Paul Ince is an amazing manager and that Shebby Singh knows a lot about football so if his sources are as reliable as his opinions probably a dead end.

Pretty sure it's a fake account, he talks tripe.

He also said the reason Ince failed at Rovers was down to Venky's, which says it all!

The more I think about Gary Bowyer as our manager the more I think it is unlikely.

If they do make him our manager and results turn sour, the fans will be in uproar saying it shouldn't have been him (even the ones who have said he should be given a roll of the dice).

This will be bad for Venkys as the protests will re-emerge and the media will turn on them saying "Why didn't they just get an experienced old head in?"

It will be bad for us as we will be the football fan equivelant of a panto villain again.

The only way I can see Bowyer getting the job is if he wins manager of the month or something like that.

On a different note, why is there a group of about 5-6 Twitter accounts all devoted to Judan Ali - people posing as fans saying how he should get the job and posting nothing but information/endorsements of him? It seems very weird. Started debating with one person and now there's loads of them giving me grief. Very strange!

They seem sure he's the one pulling the strings at the moment and the reason for our recent success.. absolutely ludicrous I know! https://twitter.com/JamieCochrane4 is the main one anyway.

Back on topic, I have no idea who will get it. I think Dickov would be very poor, he's done little at Oldham. Sven wouldn't inspire any confidence in me either.

Well for the first time in my life i've just had 2 private messages with the whole 'a reliable source told me' thing... I don't really understand how they came about but posted them for you to see anyway...it's from a Blackpool fan I haven't spoken to in person since I left the UK 7 years ago. Anyone heard anything similar?

  • Lewis Sowerby

Appleton to walk out of Blackpool and set to take over at Blackburn, you heard it here first!

  • Dave Gresty

eh!? That doesn't even make sense...why would he?

  • Lewis Sowerby

He's had enough of oysten and the pitch, my understanding is that oysten won't allow him to bid for any of his promised targets, and is point blank refusing to sort the pitch out, out groundsman was buying grass seed out of his own wages and he quit,

A very reliable source who has told me he applied for the Blackburn job, and is very close to being done, he will just walk out from Blackpool with nothing.

  • Dave Gresty

wouldn't surprise me about Oyston but not sure what qualifies him for either job to be honest although i do think if Holloway was still there you would be in the bottom 3 by now

EDIT: Sorry chaps just seen all the twitter talk about this earlier. Long day at work....missed it all
