3 wins out of 3, which much improved effort from the players - id say Bowyer should get the planned extended period (End of Jan) and then we should re-evaluate. If by the end of Jan we are still unbeaten then he should get it until the summer.

IF the players are happy and working for him, then why change it?! They showed with Berg that they wont perform for just anyone.

The fact that Appleton is better than many of the names strongly linked to rovers just shows how bad the names have been.

He's better than the likes of Taylor and MacDonald. Tbf, I think he will be a decent manager in time but we need the finished article - Curbs would be my choice. Still, our opponents on Friday appointed Saunders so there's always someone worse off!

That is a huge problem then.

They are paid a feckin fortune and should run their b o l l o c k s off for whoever is in charge whether that be Mickey Mouse or Jose Mourinho.

Clearly, the calibre of manager reflects the team organisation, structure, tactics etc but these, IMO, primma donnas have a duty first and foremost to the club and its supporters. Nothing less than 100% commitment in every training session and match will do.

We need to face up to it, on the whole, IMO, our squad is vastly overrated and we face a long, long haul back to even respectability.

It's time for many blue eyed optimists to wake-up and smell the coffee.

But proper managers don't take the sh*t from players - they drop them for dissent/underperformance/strops - we don't conform because too much pressure from beyond - SAF doesn't let Glaziers run the team. Our manager should shout from the top of Darwen Tower - I pick the team, judge me - just not happened for 25 months. That's the problem.

Just asked my friend about Appleton as he is a season ticket holder at Blackpool and he said he would personally drive him to Ewood and he is totally uninspired by him. May as well appoint him then.

I think he is having problems working with their Chairman and people have use his link with Shaw(being at PNE together) and put together a story

all Crap again.

As much as I don't think keeping Bowyer would be ideal, it's obvious he's got the players galvanised and playing in a sytem that works.

While this may not last forever, giving a 6 month deal to someone almost as inexperienced is complete madness.

My Pompey supporting friend says the same. When Appleton was down here every match was written off and every point was a bonus. Even in those circumstances he disappointed. By that i mean he had free reign to have a real go at every team they faced and the football world would understand if the result was crap. Every sports media outlet gave him slack because of the horrendous situation he found himself in at Pompey. Who does that remind you of? Thats right folks, Steve Kean. The popular consesnsus outside of Blackburn was Kean was doing a good job. I kid you not. Appleton my or may not be a shyster like Kean, but his reputation has been built solely on the pity vote for how he handled the Pompey fiasco.

Avoid.

Oyston will take the money. Welcome to sh!t street muscles. You must have enjoyed your Pompey experience you sadistic f#@k. Because i suspect you'll be re-living that particular dream pretty soon.

I'd sooner stick with Bowyer thanks very much
