Derek Shaw, Managing Director of Blackburn Rovers: "I can confirm that we have made an official approach to Blackpool FC about our interest in speaking to Michael Appleton. This is the only candidate we have approached for the managers job”.

Even if Oyston wants rid, considering his recent appointment, he'll take us to the effin cleaners. I bet all things considered, Poyet might look like a bargain at £2m.

Out of curiosity, who has the authority to sanction stories like this on the official site? It just seems like that this is the kind of thing which gets published after the deal is done.

No truth in Appleton Rumour

Looks like you have been completely removed from the loop !

Holy Kean, what must bowyer be thinking !

Screw him what are the bloody 3 clowns thinking.

Are they actively trying to get the average crowds under 10K and the next decade in the wilderness

The owners would have to sanction this in my view.

no way would Shaw been allow to make a statement on website with Mrs D and Balaji agreeing to the approach for him

Yeah, terms with Appleton probably pretty much agreed so now time to approach Blackpool. Wonder how much they'll have to fork out for this one.

So MG was right when he said an approach had been agreed and not the end of January business

And Glen promised to step down as well. Bad day at the office.

You could argue he is experienced to be fair

I had never heard of the bloke till very recently I must admit

Looks an awful potential appointment, happy to proved wrong.....to be fair know little about him apart from what I have read/heard.

What happened to the end of January timeframe and why the need for the statement?

Would've taken a monumentally inspiring appointment to get everyone on side, Appleton isn't that but hey ho, thems the breaks kids!

Not surprised by this, but also have nothing against Appleton either, it would just be a strange one considering he has been at Blackpool for such a short amount of time. Clearly some issues over there between him and the chairman.

And lol at Glen but his denial of Appleton. With the club divided down the middle it is unlikely to be able to get everything correct, this being one of them.
