You can actually see us going to Wolves in Appleton's 1st game and losing !

Not going over the top due to the reasons I stated earlier today - I honestly think we could have done a lot worse ! Brown, Taylor, Dickov anyone ?

What happened to the end of January timeframe and why the need for the statement?

It's called lying, they've done it since day one and will do it until the day they leave. That's what happens when you're owned by the likes of Venky's, unfortunately. Disgusting people if you go by how they've treated the club, most of its employees and its fans.

As for the statement... who knows. Bizarre, just like everything else at the club.

You could argue he is experienced to be fair

I had never heard of the bloke till very recently I must admit

No you can't. He has experience from managment, but he's not experienced - far from it.

It's almost like a message to Shebby rather than the fans from Shaw.

Very good point. Shebby shouldn't have messed up last time when we had a better pick of managers. I think he will be back to Pune developing an academy again very soon.

We could have done a lot worse. Appleton is decent. He would be wba boss by now if he hadn't left for pompey.

Mercer, you're correct that there were worse candidates out there. But this position at this point in time calls for experience. I'm sick of our club being used as a training facility for young managers to learn their trade. The risks are too big.

Baclpool 'Cryer' has his say:

William Watt@WillWatt

I for one hope he stays, he is a top manager who will be good for the long term of BFC. Tomorrow will be yet another interesting day

It says it all that during Venkys disastrous reign the 2 most promising managerial appointments have been Black and Bowyer.

I am convinced now they are positioning to sell with this appointment.

Unfortunately, we now shop in a very limited market segment.

Our finances dictate that, in no small part to the, IMO, millions squandered on paying off the good (Sam, JW, TF etc), the bad (Berg) and the ugly (no name needed) !

Wonder who made a killing with the ibookies ?

Lot of us could have if we'd gone for it when the name was first put out on here. And MG Road, most of us are terribly upset by the stubborn refusal of the rao family to learn anything from the last 2 years and their continuing to fly in the face of reason.

whats interesting is that he has fallen out with karl oysten who at least has his head screwed on right inside 2 months so how on earth is he going to cope inside the blackburn mad house?

Who really cares? Did anyone honestly expect Venky's to do a 180 and suddenly start running a pro football club?

Didn't think so.

Manager who's primary experience is as a young coach. Main management experience under chaotic management, faceless ownership and cost cutting.

Fits the Venky bill perfectly.

why oh why didnt we go for laudrup when we appointed ince? he has taken swansea to another level from that overrated rodgers

Tbf, Venky's would have probably sacked him too

Totally underwhelming appointment.Ticks none of the boxes of experienced, connected with the club, motivates the fans blah , blah. The only box he ticks is that we are only likely to be able to have a conversation through Shaw/Agnew as every sane manager is running a mile knowing Shebby is around. So presumably through him being a player at Nob End, Shaw /Agnew know him and basically there you have it.- the shortest shortlist of all time. These twots wont be happy till they have tunred us into Nob End ie a mid table league one outfit cos they are incapable of managing anything any better.

Bet Balaji and Mrs Witch really wanted Appleton all along.Looks like it could be the end for the Shebster with this being a Shagnew production .

What in gods name have we become?? They may as well have kept Bowyer for whom the players seemed to be working with ok.

The club is just going down the nick with every passing day and decision.

For Christs sake Mullan if ever you needed to block another appointment , then this is the one!!
