Bowyer staying in charge makes defeat at Wolves this weekend a nailed-on certainty and fans in apoplexy again.

The three-headed monster running Ewood needs to be slain - and quickly.

Can't see Wolves beating us this weekend though.

As for the transfer window, we've signed King, hopefully Best will be back and we've got more than enough to have a tilt at the play offs already.

If we can get rid of some overpaid dross like Pedersen as well, so much the better.

Simon I realise that your rather bizarre hate for Pedersen cannot be quelled but what exactly have you seen that would convince you that we can achieve promotion?

I take the Forest game for example. Was I the only who thought we were absolutely bloody dreadful for the first hour? Forest were allowed so much space in the midfield whilst we couldn't hold on to the ball for love nor money.

The vital part of that game by the way, not that you'd have recognised, was bringing on pedersen. Their left back was pushing further forward all the time due to Rochina drifting inside. When Kean made that match winning save on about 65mins (i believe if we concede then, we lose) it was because their left back was given too much space. Having seen this Bowyer brought on Pedersen who is very good at tracking and helping the defence out. He also went on to assist Rhodes for the goal and played quite well. So you call him overpaid dross all day if you want to but I think there are far finer examples throughout our squad, wouldn't you agree?

We will not get promotion with this squad, it's unbalanced, timid and shaky at the back, not to mention completely ignorant of how to accommodate one of the leagues best strikers. Scott Dann has aimed for his head more times than West Ham have aimed for bloody Carroll's this year for gods sake!

The only funny thing of the whoe saga is how all 3 of the clowns in charge constantly leak rubbish to the so called ITKs who then hint that they know what's going on and are then made to look like complete tubes when the opposite happens. If this was any other club I for 1 would be loving this.

That must be the overpaid dross who's been one of our best and most consistent players for the past 10 years.

You also disapproved of Sam so your opinions aren't worth much to be honest.

You posted a few days ago that whoever took the Rovers job would have to job share with Shebby.

Is this just a personal view?

What does Balaji think of this?

How do the Rao family feel Shebby is doing?

Can you give us any feedback from Shaw's meeting with the family in Pune?

It's based on what I heard coming from Ewood.

IMO Balaji doesn't want a repeat of Berg. He feels that if Berg's permenant replacement is clearly out of his depth, then somebody should have the authority to step in and make decisions for the benefit of the club before we start racking up more losses.

IMO The family would like him to be a little/lot quieter with regards to media interaction. They like the way he is handling many of the problems within the club, but they cringe when he is interviewed live. I think they'd prefer it if he talked to fans off-camera and only gave written interviews.

I wasn't there for the meeting. All I know is that they were summoned by the family (The Mirror article was BS) and that they were told to toe the Club line. Apparently they said, 'yes' a lot and nodded their heads a lot unitl the family were sure that everybody was on the same page RE club hierarchy.

You know consistent doesn't mean 'good' right? He was our best player in Hughes' first 2 years and has hardly done anything since. Even the stuff he has done is not worth %0k per week. I've not taken Pedersen seriously as a player since Hughes left, tbh. Only now am I starting to think he may be useful at championship level and only because Etuhu has proven himself inept and Murphy inconsistent. I'd include Lowe in that but I think he tidies up the loose balls well. A Savage mk2 if he keeps his stamina up.

Pedersen is overpaid and while consistent, he's consistently average and is often caught ball-watching. When Rochina is putting tackles in, it shows you how decptively work-shy Pedersen actually is these days.

On topic:

Billy Davies has been my first choice since Berg was sacked and he seems to be interested. Hope we get him, don't care when as long as it's soon. As great as Bowyer and McPhilips have been, we need to keep them in their reserve roles or at most 'only' as coaches or assistants to a new manager imo. Where they've done their good work is with the reserves and youths and that's where we need them. Don't want Venkys sacking them from being manager and assistant when we need them in SOME capacity at the club.

My vote was for none of the above - of those available outside of the poll, Curbs/O'Driscoll perhaps. Having said that no appointment is preferable to a bad appointment. I still have no belief in them getting it right long term. SS needs to learn some respect of the fans and then we will perhaps show it in return. If he has rooted out a lot of what was wrong, fair dos, but his interminable mutterings are embarrassing. He should be reminded and re-reminded of how well run we were before his friends took over. Learn some humility and stop treating the paying public as idiots!

Agree with RoyRover's earlier post, seems a ploy to shut us out of the window and move a few people on. Although Givet and Robbo have been criticised for their performances of late, we haven't exactly got a stellar backroom team motivating our players these days.

With nobody at the helm, we are utterly rudderless. With Singh around, its wag the dog. Unacceptable but we must have the rest of the championship in stitches. Jim is right, Wolves will nail us to the nearest tree (and most likley turn their fortunes upward as we plummet)

Alot of confusion seems to come from Balaji saying this or this will happen through Shebby and then the next day the decision being taken to Mrs Desai and being rejected.

Mrs D must have lost faith in Shebby's decision making and not surprising after a 5 week manager search produced a manager who had to be sacked and unused Portuguese players adding millions to the club's debt.

Gary Bowyer will get the job as he fits in with Mrs Desai's 'vision' of the manager bringing through young players. He actually fits the description of the manager Steve Kean pretended he himself was.

You may well be right about that, but with one massive difference...........Gary Bowyer doesn't need to pretend!!

If they said to Bowyer "the 6 month contract Is yours" am sure a lot of people would at least be content knowing what was going on.

Instead they are waiting until the end of January which means they want to skip the transfer window and still they bang on about "promotion"

If I was Bowyer I would refuse a 6 month contract, unless it had a clause in it saying if I did really bad I would still be employed with the young uns'

Who knows how hostile the fans will turn if the right man isn't chosen for the job.......yet again.

Glen Mullan stated in the previous thread we would hire a manager after the Forest game. Then he stated it would be after the cup game.

Glen Mullan also stated with a lot of confidence that if Rovers did not hire an EXPERIENCED manager he would resign from his position at BRAG

Glen must be getting worried.

Perhaps Shebby told him confidently that Rovers WOULD sign an experienced manager and that's why he said what he did.

I'd assess what I believe and what I don't if that was the case.

Bowyer probably has an existing 6 month contract Dwayne, hence it would mean nothing to him.

So what does a 6 month contract, with targets, mean to any prospective manager? Well, a clause with targets is a bit strange, because surely if a club likes what they see they would offer him a new contract anyway, regardless of whether any target has been achieved. On the other hand, if someone like Billy Davies came in, did well and achieved this "target", but lived up to his previous reputation of not being someone you would want around the club, the club would be legally obliged to give him another contract. Why put ourselves in this position? To me, it's ridiculous and is the idea of an amateur.

Surely we need to appoint someone who we believe is the right man. Tell him you believe in him and give him a 12 month rolling contract, that could be renogiated at any time - something rovers have done in the past. That gives the new manager a promise of being given at least some time to be able to wheel and deal within the club's financial constraints and also ties the club to only 12 months notice.

Yes, having made rather bold statements it is getting close to put up or shut up time.
