ABBEY Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Abbey was being sarcastic. Shebby Singh never said anything like that. In fact, the guy hasn't said anything for a very, very long time unless you want to include the unofficial informal diner Q and A session which was more of a joke than a real interview or press statement. wasnt being sarcastic...in the you tube footage he said Appleton would be judged after 6 games. Well hes had three ,so in three more shabby will know if hes a good manager.Thats what he said.

Everyone was bursting into laughter after he said that, including himself.
otto man Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Another one who many fans wanted to sell, but if we had kept hold of, we might still have been in the PL. Which fans were they and can you name them? Samba wanted out for two or three seasons. The fans had nothing to do with it.
Gav Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Another one who many fans wanted to sell, but if we had kept hold of, we might still have been in the PL. Many fans wanted to sell him because he threw his toys out of the pram at the end of every season in the hope of a pay rise. People just got sick and tired of it in the end and who can blame them?

1mattjansen Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 not one for stealing songs but this ones a belter
den Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Which fans were they and can you name them?Samba wanted out for two or three seasons. The fans had nothing to do with it. Probably the same ones who wanted Nzonzi out for the same reasons.
jim mk2 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 QPR MAKE MOVE FOR SAMBA 1 SOCCER QPR Samba QPR MAKE MOVE FOR SAMBA By Simon Peach, Press Association Sport Harry Redknapp is closing in on the signing of Anzhi defender Christopher Samba after QPR triggered his release clause, Press Association Sport understands. The 28-year-old has been with the Russian club for less than a year, having joined them from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee last February. Samba could now be on his way back to the Barclays Premier League as Press Association Sport understands QPR have met Anzhi's release clause.
Black Burn Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 He's a joke , end of. You know he was joking because? He sacked Berg after 10. . Apparently Shebby Singh hired Berg. He didn't hire Appleton. Venkys did. Furthermore, it seems that Appleton answers to Venkys directly this time and Shebby Singh has been sidelined (I thought you of all people will be happy about that), so Shebby Singh wouldn't be sacking anyone any time soon. He's more likely to leave.
Andy Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Samba to QPR? That wouldn't make a great deal of sense. Well, other than financially for Samba...
bypass06 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Vukcevic close to Cyprus loan switch http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/10195194._/?
LeChuck Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Vukcevic close to Cyprus loan switchhttp://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/10195194._/? Another smart move. If we can get a proper right winger in we'll have gone some way to addressing the balance in the squad.
M-K Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Samba on his way to QPR - Do Rovers have an sell on fee on him ? 10m and with 10% sell on fee that would give us 1m He's finally going to get the relegation he bailed out of with Blackburn. Wasn't he a target for Arsenal at one point? That's one hell of a career nosedive (although maybe not so bad for his bank manager / agent - two quick moves to clubs owned by rich idiots)
pick32 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Looks like Appleton is backing his comments up about signing players for the way we want to play and balancing the squad. Think he is going to go for a more solid 442 and that's why we are seeing players who dont fit into that system like Formica, Vukcevic and Rosado departing.

That's one hell of a career nosedive (although maybe not so bad for his bank manager / agent - two quick moves to clubs owned by rich idiots) No mate, a nosedive is what's happened to Rovers since we sold players of his ilk.

That's one hell of a career nosedive (although maybe not so bad for his bank manager / agent - two quick moves to clubs owned by rich idiots) His use of the ball was never good enough for a top team. For a club battling relegation he'll be fantastic. I can see QPR staying up if they sign him. Especially if they add Crouch to that as well.

He has been playing Champions league football as well you know. Don't underrate him, he's a very good centre half.
Black Burn Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 So venkys had nothing to do with berg? I'm happy about nothing about the venkys !! I'm assuming they didn't, they probably just listened to Shebby Singh and let him appoint whoever he wanted. And when it turned out to be a disaster, they said screw it, and took matters into their own hands and appointed Appleton. By the way, how did this Appleton thread turn into one about players like Samba, Kazim-Richards, our departing and incoming players? Shouldn't those be on the transfer talk thread?
JAL Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Blackburn Rovers in talks over Kazim-Richards dealhttp://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburn_rovers/news/10193742.Blackburn_Rovers_in_talks_over_Kazim_Richards_deal/ Cryer doesnt mention the name of the agency representing CKR ...........why not ?
Backroom Mike E Posted January 30, 2013 Backroom Posted January 30, 2013 Cryer doesnt mention the name of the agency representing CKR ...........why not ? Because he has no need to? Or are you going down the needless and pointless sem/kentaro scaremongering route?

ada2020 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Samba to QPR?That wouldn't make a great deal of sense. Well, other than financially for Samba... It would make a lot of sense, his family still live in England and he would escape that racist shithole he plays in currently. Let's be honest, he would have gone to QPR 12 months ago but for venkys refusal to sell to a rival. He only went to Russia in utter desperation to get away from rovers. The move makes perfect sense. Financially, he'll probably make less money in England, rather than more He's desperate to leave Russia, simple as.
thenodrog Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Don't know if this has been mentioned but Murphy's wife said to me on Twitter that Danny is very happy with the new manager. Markus Olsson seems pleased too. Hopefully the rest of the squad like him too and so far they seem to. What did you expect her to say? Whoosh............The point is (which I didn't think I'd need to spell out but will do so for the intellectually challenged) is not so much the cost (although the cost of removing Ince, Kean and Allardyce and their teams and paying off Berg ran into millions and millions) is the cronyism in football and short-term nature of the job because most of them are useless. They all move en masse around from one club to another more often than not leaving destruction and a mess in their wake. You are still guilty of fiddling whilst Rome burns though aren't you? But if cronyism exists then it's a lot like politics and especially so with appointments within the Cabinet. How else would your hero Gordon Brown have risen to PM without cronyism? He certainly wasn't elected was he?
RockinRover Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Considering the conversation was about a house they had built I didn't see a reason for her to randomly point out that Danny likes the manager.
