Rover_Shaun Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 It's not Appleton's fault Norbert Pick one or several from this list It's Kean's signings It's their lack of fitness All the amazing players are injured He hasn't had time to train properly because actual football has the temerity to get in the way It's the players playing long ball all by theirself It's Kean/Berg/Shebby/Swampy/El Nino/the Jet Stream that's to blame None of the first XI are Appleton signings (because they are all sh.t) It's all going to come right if we just cross our fingers and hope to god almighty in the heavens every day

47er Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I wanted the Arsenal game to be a catalyst but it wasn't. It's not Appleton's fault NorbertPick one or several from this listIt's Kean's signingsIt's their lack of fitnessAll the amazing players are injuredHe hasn't had time to train properly because actual football has the temerity to get in the wayIt's the players playing long ball all by theirselfIt's Kean/Berg/Shebby/Swampy/El Nino/the Jet Stream that's to blameNone of the first XI are Appleton signings (because they are all sh.t)It's all going to come right if we just cross our fingers and hope to god almighty in the heavens every day Don't forget that the crowd want the ball to be played upfront too quickly!
Guest Norbert Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 OK Blue and White Army, we're not that far apart in our views on Appleton (you hate him, and I'm merely sceptical), but let's say he was binned tomorrow. Who would be better and available? I'd like names please.

JonnyBRFC Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Jack Gaughan The Sun are reporting Michael Appleton has been sacked by Blackburn Rovers. 15 games. Two months. Derek Shaw's man.
EPF Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4849324/Michael-Appleton-sacked-by-Blackburn.html
Lathund Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Surely not? If true I wonder how they will mess up the search this time.
47er Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Wow? Didn't see this coming, not yet anyway. Mrs D obviously didn't have him down as a thinker! Will the next idiot please step forward!
Lurid Coat Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Appleton sacked, apparently. Venky's - the owners that just keep on giving! League One next? Or is a takeover on the cards?
JonnyBRFC Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Andrew Cryer Unofficially it appears to be true. Appleton has been sacked. Club offering no comment though
CapeTownRover Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 ive just been asked by 2 friends of mine, if we have sacked Appleton. I just replied im not sure, and dont know. it wouldnt surprise me though, but if true, then im officially done for this season.
LDRover Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Wow! Unsurprising at a normal club but we're hardly that. I won't miss him though, can't think of anything he's brought to the table apart from a lowering of expectations and hollow words.
LeChuck Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Round and round we go. Please put Bowyer in charge until the end of the season and take a REASONED decision in the summer.
Muddboy Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Holy crap. We really are a shambles. Any stability that Appleton brought has now gone out of the window. Relegation a real, real possibility now. There must be something bigger going down....
mckenny16 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Well done Rovers. Never in a calendar year have I felt so embarrassed to be a Rovers fan. This is the club that just keeps on giving!
Guest Norbert Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Hopefully, this and the Probiz nonsense means we'll be ytaken over by some reputable group/person and a decent manager will suddenly come in. More likely it'll be the result of some boardroom battle, family argument or whatever and then the club will crumble a bit more.
rovers11 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Shocking decision!!!!!!! Absolutely ludicrous. Hope the fans who wanted him gone are happy now!
moerpho Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 If this is true it's getting beyond ridiculous! What manager would want to come to Rovers?!? Relegation is looking more and more likely......
donnermeat Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 As if the club couldn't be cheapened any further.
tomphil Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Probably cheaper to sack Appleton than pay off the likes of Murphy, Etuhu etc. Wonder who's influence this has come from ?
LDRover Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Shocking decision!!!!!!! Absolutely ludicrous. Hope the fans who wanted him gone are happy now! Why, was he doing a good job? Must have missed that.
Rover_Shaun Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 OK Blue and White Army, we're not that far apart in our views on Appleton (you hate him, and I'm merely sceptical), but let's say he was binned tomorrow. Who would be better and available? I'd like names please. I have answered that already. I have no idea as I no longer follow football to that extent. Everyone is potentially available. I just think that keeping the status quo is the worst option.
