Signing Rochina was fine, a good prospect. Paying £400k to Barcelona and £1.6m to an agent, Manuel Salamanca Ferrer is what has upset people.

But £2m for him is still about right regardless of who gets the money. Compared to what we paid for Grabbi it's a bargain.

I struggle to understand the arguement some people have on here regarding who we pay etc. because we seem to think that it is our money they are giving away...it isn't, it's theirs, they own the club. It is our happiness and sanity they are ebbing away though.

I don't believe JA would go on record saying he advised us NOT to sack Sam if the opposite was true.

Once Venky's had gone ahead and done it anyway, presumably as a misguided costcutting measure, I wouldn't find it surprising he would put forward the name of his client at all.

Back on topic, Appleton. According to wiki his overall managerial record is 64 points from 63 games which more or less equates to 2 relegation seasons.

I think it's a bizarre and extremely poor appointment regardless of whether he has links to JA or none at all.

Well said.

If our fans boo any manager they don't like then we will never be able to attract a decent manager as they will probably know they will be treated in exactly the same way if a few results don't go our way.

Not really a problem, we don't approach decent managers anyway.

I know little about Appleton to be honest but his managerial record is poor and by all accounts he is a downbeat guy who is unlikely to inspire the dressing room.

This appointment if it comes about can be explained only on one level: the Shaw - PNE connection.

Shaw is playing political games to make a point to Singh and we as Rovers fans are likely to be the ones to suffer again.

It looks like this Kentaro hook is the way Shebby is fighting back.

Think it is all too little too late.

Being out manoeuvred by Shagspew takes incompetence of enormous proportion.

What we will find is everybody emerges damaged.

And Rovers and the fans suffer.

Agree.

Regardless of agent issues, or being underwhelmed by this appointment, I will get behind Appleton, and like every other manager judge him on results.

Our owners are crazy and we can't control what they do, what we can control is the way we support the team.

exactly.

Personally not bother who his agent is tbh.

Im only bother about him winning and improving rovers as a club.

Appleton has agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal, worth up to £500,000-a-year, to become Blackburn’s new manager as the boardroom divisions at Ewood Park were finally solved on Thursday night.

Blackpool on Thursday gave their Championship rivals permission to speak to their manager, who has only been in charge at Bloomfield Road for two months, and Blackburn managing director Derek Shaw was ready to conclude negotiations. But Shebby Singh, the club’s global advisor, was understood to be cool on the idea before finally being talked round.

Appleton will take first-team coach Ashley Westwood with him to Ewood Park as part of the deal.

Have you discounted the involvement of Rothschilds Simon? They were the ones assigned that task.

Also unless I'm mistaken wasn't Anderson the stadium announcer at Arsenal? At City he was much more closely involved with the Shinawatra debacle that almost ended in huge debt and impending bankruptcy than he was with the current owners.

+1

Pulled a serious fast one on Thaksin, by all accounts. Can't see how his relationship with The Raos is in any way different. Except, of course, City were a club based in a major city, with lots of potential suitors attracted by the profitability of a large, loyal fanbase.

Where does it leave us? I half expect to lose most of our high-earners, replacing them with sub-standard SEM-affiliated players, again, but I hope nothing of the sort happens. Difficult to not read into Appleton's management of a vaguely similar situation at Portsmouth, though. He has experience of working with a depleted/ing squad and we're living beyond our means.

Appleton's agent according to this article works for this company who happen to have an office in India.

hold on.... Appleton was interviewed by video call to India days ago, coincidentally a couple of days ago he shot from nowhere in the betting to clear favourite 1-12 at one point.

What did they ask him. "Can you put us together a team for nothing like you did at Portsmouth while we sell all the good players and anything of value. Will you stick around till the parachute payments run out cos then we'll be off" Something along those lines.

Really is one extreme to the next with these feckwits. It would be hilarious if it was happening to anyone else's club, just sod's law that it happens to be ours.

I wonder what their next batsh1t crazy move will be?

Sack him in 9 games and pay him off, pay compo for another managerial no mark.

Deal was struck just under a week ago, all interviews been done by videolink direct to India.

Moyes (Davids Bother) and Anderson have been driving force in deal.

Its looking like statements done today were all part of a paper trail to cover the truth.

Source of this info is directly from India and from inside the Appleton camp.

No wonder everyone at Rovers were in the dark.

Agnew is on Holiday and Derek Shaw has been tieing up the paperwork, but this decision was taken out of the hands of everyone at Ewood Park

What is the purpose of this. Why is this done this way. What about Bowyer till the end of the Month. Does three wins in a row really go against their master plan.. Why are they back in bed wit the Kunt. Why do they hate us this much. I hate them, every thing about them. Something needs done there ARE irregularites somewhere. Again the JA and Venkys as a front will come to the fore. I don't think I even want to back Appleton. I don't think he is up to it. Hell even the Dingles did not want him. Burnley reject. Feck off Venkys I'll hate you till I die.

Can't say I'm too bothered as to whether Appleton is represented by Kentaro or whether he has any links to JA or not, all I'm bothered about is whether he is any bloody good or not.

The only information suggesting that JA might have any input into this process are an unsubstantiated statement from Glen and Kamy thinking Appleton may recently have changed agents but that he doesn't know who to.

I'm led to believe that Glen was completely incorrect in asserting Shaw met with JA before Shaw went to India so I'm not putting too much weight on his latest claims.

Back in the real world and away from conspiracy theories I would suggest Appleton's record is far from encouraging despite any extenuating circumstances.

More to the point from my point of view, if Appleton was any good, why have Blackpool allowed us to speak to him and more or less waved him off with their blessing after only 2 months in charge?

If he was any good they'd be reporting us for illegal approaches and fighting tooth and nail to keep him etc.

Ba Da Boom Bada Bing. Exactly, A young Sam Allardyce, is that like a Young Chris Smalling, a young Wayne Rooney. It's gonna end in tears.

Who will Rovers go for in the summer when Appleton is potted?

If JA is involved with this then you can expect Appleton to be here for a loooooong time regardless of results. And this time I don't think there will be the stomach for another "Kean out" movement. People will simply stop coming.

All we can hope for is that, against the odds, he is a success.
