Good luck Michael Appleton.

I think you will prove to be a good feckin appointment and believe you will take us back to the PL providing Venky's and the board give you the backing you need.

Yes but why are we paying over the odds? What's he done at Blackpool to deserve it?

The fact there are better managers currently out of work is obviously concerning. But nothing we can do now except pray this works out.

Nothing to do with his playing career, its the chronic lack of experience of coaching, let alone being an assistant manager:

4 months coaching at Pompey, 2 months at Blackpool - that's it.

Bring back Ray Mathias.

I've said before, we've got the highest wage bill in the league on players, why are we skimping on proper experienced coaches.

The above is nonsense. Lack of management experience? Yes could argue that but he has been a coach for nearly TEN years.

Got all the badges, pretty much done every role at West Brom including assistant manager, a premier league club. He has then managed two teams, one of which in horrendous circumstances. Do I think he'll succeed? Don't know but he certainly will get them fit and make them defensively sound- a big problem in our play which if corrected we stand a decent chance of play offs.

The trouble is, this one now has to stick. If he goes on a Berg run, we can't be looking for a fourth manager in 10 games. This is the last throw of the dice.

he's already on a BERG RUN ...2 wins from 12

But he did learn his trade off one of the best and most respected and successful managers in the world who had managed Porto, Barca and England amongst others.

Appleton is apparently a student of Ferguson so we have to hope he is the Batman in this particular dynamic duo.

or his red whisky nose.

I know what you are saying but Kidd had never managed before, Ince was never a coach, Kean was never a manager and Berg had no English experience.

Everyone is a risk but Appleton is a combination of a top coach who has some managerial experience, may come good.

Good luck MA. You need it with the Chicken Loons and Spagnew.

You have my support.

PS. Where and what is our next home game? I will come along and give you and the team my support

I think it's at Ewood. :P

I don't have a good feeling about it but welcome, good luck. You really need your head testing though!

I'd endure any kind of poisonous atmosphere at work if someone quadrupled my wages and gave me a three year deal. Set for life.
