Its a bit late for that Pete, anyway I couldn't careless what other fans think, the ones I've spoken to think Kean was doing a good job!

Is it Aprils fools day c'mon Gav Kean doing a good job, well yes if you think about it he did a magnificent job, took a top ten/twelve PL outfit and made them championship fodder inside of 2 years, thats some going. --- you were joking weren't you.

Are they going to bother with a press conference to announce Appleton?

I wonder if we can afford to keep on doling out tracksuits with manager's initials on them. Don't forget we've also had to weigh out for a tracksuit for Slimey Sh1te.

Derek Shaw will be doing his nut, it's one thing getting the chairs under control, but the tracksuits must be a nightmare. SK,EB, HB, GB and now MA. To say nothing of IB, BM, JJ, TM, and someone else whose name escapes me.

Perhaps in future putting "??" instead of initials on the tracksuit will be better, especially if the name changes by the month.

Because...Appleton's relegated Portsmouth and done worse than Holloway at Blackpool? Its hilarious that anyone thinks this guy is even close to being a good manager. Well, it would be hilarious except we've already been through all this once with Berg, now its just boring and very weird that many fans are failing to grasp the similarities.

Portmouth started the season with -10 points and would have been safe. He had a hell of a lot to put up with at Portsmouth and that should stand him in good stead with our own band of loons. You have an absolute right to be worried and sceptical, I am too but [ersonally, I'll judge him when he's been in charge for a good few matches, rather than slate the guy before a ball has been kicked. We are relying on a lucky appointment because common sense decisions don't often happen at Ewood anymore.

Heard on the radio this morning that the 'Presser' is taking place tomorrow, presumably this gives MA and AW a chance to get their feet under the table and also to decide what to do with GB and TMcP.

I imagine Appleton introduced himself to the squad this morning and after an initial meeting, took training.

I kid you not, spoke to a Derby and Bury fan at the weekend, both thought Kean was the victim of the owners incompetence and:

"Why did he leave? he had you in a great position to get promoted, they should have backed him not consider sacking him"

I put them straight!

I keep hearing the same thing from fans of other clubs.

How can any of us feel overjoyed at the appointment of this nonentity. I hope he does well but I can't help thinking that we should have kept to our word and kept GB on at least until the end of the month.

Appleton might not be the appointment fans were looking for, but he has far more experience than the last 2 bald blokes we had in there. Rovers fans need to support him, and give him a chance.

What is baffling is why anybody would say that he relegated Portsmouth. Going into administration and losing ten points relegated them. They would have been a few places away from the drop zone but for that, and that is quite an impressive feat considering the disaster that Pompey are. Yes, he only won 2 at Blackpool but he only lost 2, as well. Berg lost more in less games with us.

He might not be the answer, but at least let´s give him the chance to try and prove otherwise.

Sorry Gav, i thought you meant Rovers fans were saying he (Kean) shouldn't have left, now i understand your original post,

Yes, he only won 2 at Blackpool but he only lost 2, as well. Berg lost more in less games with us.

But Berg was absolutely atrocious, being better than him isn't good enough, being miles better than him might be.

Drawing games isn't good enough either. Kean, Black and Bowyer have shown this isn't a difficult league to win games in with the players we have. 14 points from 12 games with Blackpool was it? You'd have to add 10 onto that points tally to get more like where we should be aiming at, anything less than play-offs is a disaster this season and its about time we started treating it as such and stopped acting like a charity for struggling managers.
