Exactly right. It is way beyond time that the club (owners, directors, manager, and players) need to ALL get their heads in order, and for the first time in over two years start to behave as any normal football club, and give their long suffering fans what they want to see and enjoy. Viz: a properly run football club with all those involved pulling in the same direction.

And in the unlikely event that the Venkys are inclined that way (or even capable of it), then, and only then, will peace and stability return to Ewood Park. to say nothing of the many hundreds/ thousands of stay-away supporters like myself.

There is the challenge for Mrs D and the brothers........during your visit this wekend, just have a good look around, then go away into a quiet room and have a serious think about it. The future of BRFC is in your hands. Only you can rectify the many, many serious mistakes that have been made over the last two years. And by the same logic only you have the power to stop the rot, and the inevitable slide into oblivion. The choice is yours. Please make the right one.

Yes +1,000 that is the only way forward, good post!

Wonder why Appleton seemingly has so much control?

Didn't Kean and Berg say the same thing?

Good luck to Appleton. He's going to need it. He's been in a highly pressurised situation at Portsmouth, so that should stand him in good stead when it comes to our circus. I have no idea why he's been chosen and why was the only one who was pursued. But you shouldn't ask logical questions at Rovers these days. If he can get us into the playoffs, then he will have done well.

MICHAEL APPLETON APPEALS FOR CALM

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/293891/?

The article is a bit naughty as his quotes don't say stop slagging off the owners at all. They say the owners can't understand why they are being slagged off. Appleton seems like a sensible lad and can hopefully explain to them that making every facet of a football club worse over 2 years normally leads you to being slagged off by fans.

"The success you get on the field normally reflects what you are getting from your supporters."

Incredibly badly worded. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and suggest he means lack of on-the-pitch success = fewer people on the ground.

It does make me wonder what percentage split of the stayaways are doing so because of relegation or because of Venkys (who previously had said Kean).

Does he not say that in the very next sentence?

“The success you get on the field normally reflects what you are getting from your supporters.

“There has not been much success on the field over the past couple of years, and the amount of fans coming through the gate pretty much reflects that.

“We need to get a feelgood factor with the fans.”

I think there are a few that still blame Venky's for staying away - but in truth wouldn't have gone post relegation anyway.

IMO the biggest impact is still Steve Kean - their refusal to sack him in the summer meant vastly reduced ST sales. Not having a ST makes games optional - and with more home games anyway - and less attractive opposition - I am sure people and picking and choosing their games. Also - it is far more expensive to buy on a game by game basis - and also feels worse than just paying up front.

Come on Its the daily star, MA probably never spoke to them, their jurnos probably picked up the story and made their own spin.

He's not going to win me over with that sort of stuff. Let's hope he can get it done on the pitch.

What he said about success on the pitch reflecting what you get from the supporters is very badly worded.

I hope he didn't mean what I think he means.

Shut your gob Appleton as you are ignorant to what has gone in the last 2 years and try to win games to stop being sacked by summer. If you set your teams up like you talk you are buggered.

Oh well done, great attitude there.
