T.J.Newton Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 It was in fact Michaels first ever book, he had never written one before or been involved in one being written me again Sorry I stand corrected, what happened was i clicked on his name in his amazon listing for 'Agents, Rovers.....'and Michael Blackburn was referenced as a author/co-author on many books, stupidly i didn't realise they where not all the same Michael Blackburn'(especially if you look at the randomness of the books associated ) still the guy is a relatively talented writer & storyteller, personally id much rather read something co-written by Abbey, Ricky, Glenn(the voice of reason!) and you could get Chaddy to do the research(come on Chad, you know you'd love that ).
Hughesy Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Honest opinion..... Would I write a book if I was you? No Would I write a book which could damage the club? No Its ok saying the club is already broken, but its still the town team, its still the club of many fans - and damaging it further will only make things for yourself more difficult.
Ste B Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Why shouldn't glen or mark or anybody from brag write s book ? The audience will come from those who think the subject is interesting.. if they took the advice on here and wrote it in conjunction with henry winter David conn or nick Harris for example it could work.
Backroom Mike E Posted January 13, 2013 Backroom Posted January 13, 2013 I honestly think it sounds a 'not-so-quick buck' kind of scheme. Get what you have online at it's own webpage so it's readily accessible. Whether different or not, I can't see many ppl shelling out 7/8quid if they've read Michael Blackburn's book.
Henwah Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 My cousin is a ghost-writer. Here is his website if you are interested http://tomhenry.biz/
Reedy You're A Star Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Even if your intentions are good, some people just love a good conspiracy and love shooting people down. So, if you wrote and published a book about the goings on at Rovers, given some peoples perception of you and BRAG, etc. I think that a lot of people would spin it as you trying to profit from Rovers fans suffering or trying to make a quick buck. Even if you made it perfectly clear that you wouldn't make any money out of it and the profit went to charity, etc.you would still get people concocting theories about what was really gong on. So, personally, I would save yourself a lot of hassle and expense and not bother. Just rest easy knowing you've done all you can and at least tried to help. And balls to anyone else.
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I think it's a good idea, but as others have said, you won't make back what you put in, and more to the point you won't be able to tell the truth - as you see it - about the club.
Stuart Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 You should remove all reference to individuals and the club, and write it as a fiction novel. Trouble is, no-one would believe it.
Andy Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Just write a series of blogs. Costs nothing, will take less of your time, more people will have access to it and nobody can pick apart your spelling, grammar and use of the English language.
mhead Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Suggest you re-focus your considerable efforts, energy and experience of the last 2 years and work in a united way with the Trust to replace the Venkys. This speedy spiral of decline is breaking our hearts. Writing a book with the 'evil gang' watching and waiting for the book proofs is an ego-trip.

This is the Interwebz!! There shall be hell to pay for a misplaced semi-colon and you know it
