Still don't think it'll be on.

Snowed during the night, can't even see the kerbs anymore where I live (5 mins up the road from Ewood Park) - and it's still coming!

If a bit of rain cancelled it the other week, what chance do we have with snow?

Blackburn Rovers@OneRovers

Good morning everyone, we've had very little snow overnight so there are no problems at Ewood Park. The game is definitely ON! please RT!

I can't see it being off, no chance

Rovers fan, it is an incredibly difficult and emotive subject. I am sure that gilly agrees that the owners deserve some pain for their mistakes however, and I am in agreement that during a match the focus should be on supporting the team and making it a positive atmosphere where they enjoy playing. Once the game has finished or before it starts then shout abuse.

Fair comment, as long as they get both barrels during intervals.

Do you think it makes any difference ?

At the moment it doesn't look like they are going anywhere - there could be an argument that protests will stop any chance of future investment (or at least under writing the bank loans) - they could just sell what few decent players we have left, recoup their money - and just leave us to fall down the divisions without a glance from Pune !

They could do that anyway that's why it's important the owners of the club have the best interests of the club at heart, Venkies have only their business interests at heart !

I'm sure the venkys will get abuse and will deserve it. But they wont get anything like the amount of abuse they deserve. Also that doesn't mean that the team won't get support as well.

Really don't understand why "fans" like you can't understand that you can support the team AND also give out well deserved abuse to the owners. It's not like its one or the other it should be BOTH!!!!!!

You must be the type of bloke that must just appease everyone all the time in spite of what they do to you. I dare say if someone came into your house and raped the wife you'd make them a brew while they finished off.

Let me tell you one thing, that last comment is a disgrace. Disagreeing with someone is one thing, but scumbag comments like that add nothing to the debate.

Knowing Gilly1, it would be interesting if he bumped into you at the game today.

Suppose its what you want that dictates what we all accept.

For me closing down is a small part of the game as I want to witness players not only closing down but also winning the ball, thus turning the team from defence into an attack, getting the fans out of their seats, providing more opportunities to score goals. Non of which I think poor Jason is capable of at this level.

Closing down does win the ball, probably about as much as tackling does in the modern, increasingly non-contact game. If Lowe pressurises an opposition player into a pass lacking in the correct amount of force or direction, and our next player can make a tackle/interception as a result, then Lowe has won the ball for us. As I said, just look at our defensive record in the last 4 games. The defensive midfielder should be classed as part of the defense, thats his job, then you have 5 men defending and 5 men going forward. If you want an exciting, bums off seats, defensive midfielder then you'll have to wait until the next Roy Keane, Patrick Viera or Yaya Toure arrive at Rovers, because only about the top 1% of them can do it.

dunny will be fit for the brighton match spoke to him on wed ,jason lowe has been playing fantastic recently works very hard for the team and closes down play, which games have u been watching

so u will be one singing anti venkeys songs get your head down and get behind your team and new managwes first game in charge

Did I mention we shouldn't back the team?

We need to mirror the support we had a Barnsley - plenty of support for the team and plenty of anti-Venky's and anti-Shebby.

I seem to remember all the players showing a their appreciation for that support...

River Darwen at the back of the riverside is higher than the pitch, river Darwen overflowed, water flows back onto pitch = waterlogged, simple physics really.

Not sure why anyone's bothered about the tone of the support, as the volume at Ewood is so low these days that it hardly matters either way. I think the root of the problem is that the singers are split between the Blackburn End and Darwen End, as they have been since the Darwen End got going in 09/10. That didn't matter so much in the PL because there was enough in both sections to still make a decent amount of noise overall. The Darwen End would be fairly low level, but still audible and pretty much constant, and the Blackburn End would have its brief periods of being very loud. Now however you've got too few singers left in the Darwen End to barely make themselves heard at all, and the Blackburn End's sporadic increases in volume have fallen to just once or twice a game.

It can't be like Barnsley because there were 500 singers stood together at Barnsley, and there'll be about 100 split between opposite ends at Ewood.

Looking forward to my third match this season.

Will give a warm welcome to Appy but the Raos will be treated with contempt and derision.

Rovers to win 3-1. A nice lttle bet that at 16/1 !

Oh jal, I am getting the impression you don't like Jason. Maybe you also didn't like Jason Wilcox as he used to get awful treatment.

Had to laugh at this, the arguments I use to get into defending Jason Wilcox.

Disagree on Lowe, I think he's improved a bit recently. His job is to protect the defence, personally I don't ever wanna see him get on the ball and coming forward and I'm not too bothered about whether he can spray it around either. We've got Murphy to do both these things and one thing Murphy can't do is defend, he offers no help whatsoever. So you've got the same situation as say Tugay and Savage from the old days, all Savage's work was done when the opposition was in possession, and with an equally immobile midfielder alongside him, the same applies to Lowe. The last 4 games we've conceeded 2 goals, which simply wouldn't have happened had Lowe not been doing his job.

And personally I'd be very worried from a defensive point of view with Murphy and Dunn in the middle, quality in abundance but who's actually gonna make a tackle?

Have you been to the games like gilly1. Think your heads are somehwere else. Lowe was rubbish against Bristol City, rubbish against Wolves, mediocre against Forest.
