bob fleming Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 When's the draw for the 5th round?Luton at home please That'll do me. Something good is happening at Rovers. Long may it continue! Sorry Maj, entertainment can wait afer the sham that is the last two years. I'll take some good honest effort and graft coupled with some organisation. That's where we need to start.
Stuart Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 He means fewer (I assume) I was wondering if he meant "scored" but that would make more sense. And wouldn't have illicited a 'cheeky' response! That'll do me. Something good is happening at Rovers. Long may it continue!Sorry Maj, entertainment can wait afer the sham that is the last two years. I'll take some good honest effort and graft coupled with some organisation. That's where we need to start. TBF, it's Arte et Labore, not Labore et Arte. But I agree with you! Let's get points on the board, climb the table then worry about whether the football was beautiful or not!
neophox Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Great result.Rovers win, earns me a bob or two, equals a great Saturday night. Have said all along, got a real good feeling about Appy. Nice to see you're happy! Im happy too ! Also Leon Best soon to return.....
beanie Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Good match report but did Kaz not score at home to forest a few weeks ago
RoyRover Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Good win, good performance by the sounds of it and another goal for Rhodes. We just need to replicate this performance in the league. It seems like we have looked a lot better since Appleton has come in.
Stuart Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 I made a typo - my mistake! I meant fewer... Apology accepted.
dwayne cage Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Hope for more performances like today to win the people who are dubious or disliking Appleton over.
m1st Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Fantastic performances in the last couple of games now. Appleton is really getting the side organised and hard to beat. Always fancy us to get a goal with quality individuals like Rhodes so if we can become hard to score against then we have the real makings of a good team. That`s two games now where our opposition have failed to carve out a genuine chance against us. That is down to organisation and hard work. My Blackpool-supporting pals told me when it was all but certain that Appy was going to join us that the first thing he did with them was to work on their defence to make them more difficult to score against. If we can develop a reputation for keeping "clean sheets", then that'll be a good start for me.
rovermagic Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Rovers fans making plenty of noise, 2,084 in attendance. Away support for us so often is strong!
Eddie Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Good match report but did Kaz not score at home to forest a few weeks ago So he did, will update it.
Stuart Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 Away support for us so often is strong! Imagine those 2084 people in a safe standing section at Ewood...
TurkishDelightFan Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Just got back from the game. Rovers were awesome and could have scored more. Derby County weren't great though but you can only eat the team your up against. Hoping we draw a midlands team so I can hopefully go to the next match.
Amo Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Derby County weren't great though but you can only eat the team your up against. TurkishDelightFan by name...
TurkishDelightFan Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 TurkishDelightFan by name... Haha I guess I'm obsessed with food Scott Dann scored a cracker and if I remember rightly Rhodes scored a nice chip.

Maybe we'll be drawn against the Toffees in the next round? (Not sure I'd fancy trying to eat the Lions, though!)

I know we all wanted players who were hungry but bloody hell.
philipl Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Sounds like Appleton beat Clough all ends up tactically. We haven't out-smarted an opposition manager since the days of Big Sam.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Great result, made my day. I'd have taken 6 points in the league instead but I'll take today's result . Derby must have believed their own @#/? ! I was really worried about our midfield before kick off, sounds like their midfield was worse.
arbitro Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Very good team performance with a solid looking formation. There was a lot more hunger and desire today than I have seen for some time. I thought Jason Lowe was our best player at right back. Danny and Hanley once again looked solid and Pedersen in a central role suited him better. I thought that this enabled Murphy to get on the ball more and co tell the tempo. I spoke with several fans today with many years of ups and downs between them. The general consensus is that although nobody is getting carried away there are definite green shoots starting to appear.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Looking forward to Saturdays game - can't say I've said that for a while
m1st Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 What follows is a post from the Derby County fans' equivalent of this Board: CumbrianRam Moderator Moderators 11,734 posts Posted Today, 4:33 PM 0-3 now, fully deserved. Sounds like they were totally dispirited in playing against us. Let's hope that we can induce similar feelings in every other Championship team we play this season. Then, who knows what might await us?
doctorryan Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Time for a commercial i think. The only thing that would've made that funnier would've been having a bunch of Rovers supporters out there dancing while ABBEY did the milking.
