Mr. E Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Champions League next up, right fellas? What a joke this team is.
onlyonejackwalker Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Steady away 2.0. Rhodes clinical when the chances came. Good performances from MGP, Hanley, Dann. Another clean sheet. Crowd very quiet but good professional display.
dubdubdub Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Champions League next up, right fellas? What a joke this team is. We won and you've had six months to accept the fact that this team isn't Barca. What a joke.
patrickvalery Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Champions League next up, right fellas? What a joke this team is. You know we won right? At least try and enjoy the moment. There have been and will be plenty of other weekends to mope around after losing.
The Dart Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Clean sheets are something that have avoided Rovers since the Scottish fraud first arrived. If they come back and with a player like Rhodes we can steady the sinking ship.
jonv Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Champions League next up, right fellas? What a joke this team is. Sounds like someone needs a snowball directed at their cranium
Clitherover Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 No chance we'll keep Rhodes next season, as soon as the offer comes in he'll be off and who can blame him?, he's Premiership standard. Looking at the table there's one playoff place up for grabs i think, 7 points is possible to close down but the other three teams above Boro are looking out of reach to me, 11 points is a very big ask to catch now. It looks like a case of being the best out of nine teams which have a chance of getting that final playoff place, it's going to be tricky.
yoda's brother Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Sounds like someone needs a snowball directed at their cranium na, clicky ba would be better
Howler Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 i'm just happy to enjoy a routine 2-0 home win, our second clean sheet in a row and continued signs of progress under Appleton.
Backroom Tom Posted February 2, 2013 Backroom Posted February 2, 2013 Not sensational but a good win tro great goals from JR and strong performances from Mary Kate and Ashley, Orr and Pedersen Central midfield still poor mind you Appy days!
Majiball Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Think Rhodes chose to play for Scotland a little prematurely. Did he Kean, t'was a wise choice. Appleton is well known for getting his squads fit. You really can't improve fitness levels that much in one week. More likely better organised, motivated and that he's getting into their heads about how he wants them to play. The Psychology will have changed and so performance levels will increase, not fitness per say.
Rovers_Dan Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 appears we are grinding these results out now. playing crap and still winning. good lad appleton
Salgado Is A Hero Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Did he Kean, t'was a wise choice. Amen to that. Rhodes could be scoring plenty in the Prem and donkey Wellbeck would be getting picked ahead of him because he plays for one of the big teams.
rovers11 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Easy win today. Some will say its only Bristol City and we should win easily. But, in my view, how many times have we beaten weak teams easy this season? Very few. I think there`s 2 play off places available. Boro are sinking and I expect Palace to fall. We 11 behind Palace with a game in hand, plus we still have to play them at Ewood, and they`ve got Watford and Boro in their next 2 games. A lot to do but at least it keeps the interest in this season alive for a bit longer.
Stuart Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Really enjoyed today. It took a whole for the atmosphere to get going, probably the first goal to be honest, but there was little to complain about today. 100% from all the players and they were solid. Special mention for Hanley who did very well throughout. Rhodes just became our only real spark of excitement in a workman like team. As long as he is fit we are happy. If we lose him for any period we may struggle. If we can hokey-cokey-loan DJ and Goodwillie then we have back up but he is massive for us.

King is also a big spark. Appleton likes to keep it simple - win the ball back and get it out wide to the wingers.
RoyRover Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Good win, useful 3 points, 2 more goals for Rhodes, good day at the office.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Made hard work of it IMO, but after the second only one team in it. Still not good enough on this showing to make PO. We need fresh blood, and Best back to help Jordan. But happy with a win, and off for a pint at the New Inn!
1864roverite Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Does anyone have an update on Mr Best's current training status ?
Tugay-is-God Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Amen to that. Rhodes could be scoring plenty in the Prem and donkey Wellbeck would be getting picked ahead of him because he plays for one of the big teams.Rhodes is a great player for us and all but better than Welbeck?Im not sure about that.
ada2020 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Does anyone have an update on Mr Best's current training status ? Returned to full training yesterday I believe.
Amo Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Rhodes is a great player for us and all but better than Welbeck?Wouldn't take much to be better than Welbeck, tbqh.
Josh Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Returned to full training yesterday I believe. He did indeed, there's an interview on RoversPlayer talking about his situation. I imagine it will be 2-3 weeks before he makes his way onto the bench, depending on how he copes in reserve games
Stuart Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Best - CKR - Rhodes - DJ C An embarrassment of Championship riches up top (although you can still only really play 2 of them) and so lacking in centre midfield.
