Yesterday was rather special for several wrong reasons.

I think Venky's cannot Kean it up any worse and you have got to hand it to them- they have brilliant out performed even their numbskulled muddle noddled raja plated Rolls Royce of incompetent ineptitude.

I am in awe

I really didn't think it was possible for chickens to be so chicken kean thick.

A case of Live by the sword... die by the sword. Appeton sh1t on Blackpools owner and now Blackburns owners have sh1t on him. Can't think anyone connected with the Tangerines will be shedding too many tears. I wonder if this could be Shebby/Balaji's revenge in some way?

Why would they want revenge? I think the more realistic reason is because the whole board is run by mindless idiots who don't even know how to file.

well Tom if they try there will be riots down at ewood the supporters will not stand for that I think now is the time for the AG to ask the questions of the powers that be what went on and heads need to roll I can just see Appy turning up for work tommorrow and giving a good rollicking to certain people how they could have messed up is just beyond belief & as Kamy states heads need to roll for this latest fiasco and as the players were in the building well before 11pm there is no excuse it also highlights the incompetant administrators we have conducting transfer business at the club and how badly we need more qualified administrative staff who have a good record in concluding transfer deals. I feel sorry for DJ Campbell having to travel hundreds of miles down south back to QPR all because of the incompetent administrative staff who could not organise a p*** up in a brewery! Thoroughly depressed!. The play offs seem very far away now our last ray of hope is probably Best coming in and roughing up a few champ defences and providing the assists for boy wonder to finish off & score a few himself.

Providing Bests legs dont go again too. I echo a lot of this speech. It is the most depressing day I have spent as a Rovers fan. We got rid of some mediocre players some talented ones and yet replaced them with nobody. Our midfield was falling apart and now we have made it more threadbare. God help us.

Do recent events since the Shagnews went to Pune to be dismissed, the subsequent appointment of their man Appleton and the apparent sidelining and silencing of Motormouth Shebby not suggest as much to any half decent conspiracy theorist?

Perhaps. If I was to join a conspiracy theory group though I would jump on the theory that they are trying to sell all our assets to get some money back before ditching us.

The words to describe how despicable Venkys are have not been created yet. Nothing in the world can properly summarize the utter disgust I feel toward these people. But every time someone comes to Ewood to watch a game, it fills their bellies, and they continue to let our club due. Protest protest no matter what protest to the end.

Looking forward to the next podcast on the transfer window. Hopefully between now and sunday Wen & Kamy will be able to find out exactly what's gone on and more importantly who's to blame for the latest fiasco.

Pathetic.

Well for me it's not the fact that we haven't signed anybody but its the fact I actually dropped my guard and believed we actually would sign somebody! I've allowed myself to become quite immune to all the BS that comes out of Ewood but this time I actually believed we would sign the "3 or 4 players" the manager spoke about, like a few on here did. I watched players leave and thought well the majority of them are deadwood and we will be replacing them, then at about 10.50 when Cryer could get no reply from Ewood I thought ... We've been done again, I'm beyond angry with the club I'm just angry that I again allowed myself to believe anything that any Ewood Park employee has said.

I wonder if Campbell is being released from his contract at QPR? A little cost cutting might be needed considering their huge outlay this last few weeks. Maybe this can be resurrected.

Well thats my best shot at being optimistic. I tried my best. Sadly this window can't be thought of as anything other than a total failure. I'll be interested to hear how this is spun by the club. Even the new PR firm might be banging their heads against the nearest wall this morning.

Assuming Givet's head is still not right due to a lack of money in his bank account, i guess our strongest line up will be;

Kean, Henley, Dann, Hanley, Olsson, Richards, Murphy, Lowe, Olsson II, Rhodes, Gomes.

Not too bad really, but not a great deal as back up on the bench. Do we have any youngsters who play wide right?

Effin joke - absolutely fuming. We've actually gone and significantly weakened the team. Letting Formica, Vukcevic and Rochina go would have been one thing had we had replacements actually coming in, but now - with nothing but an Everton teenager having been signed - you can't spin it any other way that we're much weaker.

Do we even have a right winger in our squad? We do have Rhodes, Best, Gomes and Goodwillie in terms of strikers, but our midfield and wings, which were in desperate need of improvement before we let all our creative outlets go, are pathetically weak. Appleton seems to prefer a 4-4-2, which means we'll probably have to use Nunes, the bad Olsson and Gamst/Lowe (?!) on the wings. Edit: Forgot about CKR, but I thought he was off to Turkey?

Pathetic!

I now want us to go down to league one if it means those muppets in India selling us. What a complete and utter mess we are now in by letting our creative players go

I won't lose any sleep over Rochina, Simon, Formica or Rosado leaving. None of them have been good value and despite having potential in some cases, they haven't shown enough to make me believe we'll miss them all that much. I'm just gutted that we couldn't secure a decent right winger.

With this loan window coming up it does give us a second chance. If we could go back to QPR and get Campbell on loan plus a right winger (Bentley?) then the situation wouldnt be a total disaster. But i doubt whether the current regime have the gumption to pull this off.

Cant say in surprised by all this to be honest. Someone needs to hold their hands up and resign, its incompetence at its very worst.

We need to be going all guns blazing to get some good loans in now. Apparently Odemwingie can only be loaned to teams outside the Premiership, not that he'd want to come here.

I think they would have had to have released him yesterday before 11pm.

We are managed by amateurs, run by amateurs, owned by amateurs.

I won't lose any sleep over Rochina, Simon, Formica or Rosado leaving.

Two of those were deemed the best in our squad to feature in the team on match days, PV.

We've brought in no-one to replace them.

We have therefore downgraded our squad.

Again.

I won't disagree with your last three sentences Stu. The very fact we have lost 2/3 first team players is hard to stomach. But i'm sorry, none of them produced consistently enough to be missed.

Rochina has talent and potentially could be a good player. But all too often he was nothing more than a show pony. We accrued a mass of these players who supposedly played in the hole and all too often it seemed to me none of them produced a killer ball which opened up the opposition. Rochina may have done occasionally, but for every goal he created he gave one away by trying something daft when he didn't have to.

Simon was a mystery. I still believe he has the essentials to be a success somewhere. But it is no coincidence he has left under a cloud at all his previous clubs. I feel sorry for him as he could have done a job for us out wide. But he is another one who in our current position is a luxury we can do without. I'd rather have a winger like that lad at Boro (Carayol?) who tore us to shreds in Keans last game. Quick, direct and full of running.

Formica tried hard but offered nothing of note.

Rosado. ?????

Yes they needed replacing, but i can think of other players i'd have been more sad to see leave. The club needs some fight and some discipline. I can't see how any of the above would have mustered much of either.

I should add, i'm not defending the club for yesterdays debacle. To sign nobody was a disgrace (although not a surprising one). But the one who left were expendable imo.

Those saying they won't loose sleep over Rochina going need to have a really hard think about that. Yeah he does sometimes make mistakes, like other players do, but because he is/was our flair player he was the only one with the ability to unlock the door for Rhodes or other players and also he is our 2nd highest scorer. Stupid letting him go in my eyes. Lets hope we keep hold of him and not let him sign proper for them next seaso

Just woke up and read all the tweets from last night events....before I went to bed I assumed we had 3 players in the bag....I have to laugh...LOL

What a complete mess. I just want answers TBH. Is it Venky's fault? Shaw? Agnew? Players? We should be told. For all we know Venky's told them to spend spend spend and the idiots couldn't get it done. Maybe the Odemwingie saga messed up our deals and it was too late to find other targets. QPR very short upfront now.

Outgoings...not bad business. Players like that aren't really suited to the championship so a loan was a good shout. As for Vukcevic...clearly a talent but never really did anything. The question is why he was never handed the chance. People are quick to conspire BUT this isn't football manager. Maybe he didn't care in training. I've heard a lot about his attitude problems before he signed for us.

It's times like this i'm happy I have Sparta Prague and Ice Hockey to fall back on. I'm just hoping now we continue to perform well under Appy and the smaller squad pulls together and creates a work ethic to push for the play offs. It's not impossible when you look at the Burnley's and Blackpool's who have done the final push in recent seasons. One day we will get answers to this 2 year farce but for now we need to get behind Appy, his staff and the players.

Come on Rovers

Sorry I can't fully agree. The were only expendable IF replaced.

If, as part of some new start, we are supposed to trust Appleton then there's a contradiction somewhere. Players he was picking to go into the side - above those he will now have to pick - have been sold. If he's not absolutely furious this morning, something is very wrong.

Let's be honest, a lot of people saw this coming but cling to a hope things had changed. Looking at it objectively - considering actions and not words - we have just got rid of 3 first team players and reduced the wage bill.

When Nelsen and even Samba left people were similarly upbeat (in denial). "We are better off without them". "Past it, too old" and "overrated/bad attitude/refusing to play" (allegedly - but people took as gospel despite Salgado, Roberts being frozen out and Nelsen's phantom injury).

Well its déjà vu all over again - and some people seem pleased at the outgoings.

What did Appleton say last week? Something about: "I don't have a budget as such, but if I identify a player I want, I'll discuss with the owners and they'll back me up as much as they can. I need 3 or 4 players in", words to that effect anyway.

And he also said something like:

"The transfer policy needs to be 10 times better. The squad is totally unbalanced, I have ten number tens at my disposal."

Well, Michael, all I can say is, what do you think of the transfer policy now?

I wonder if he feels he has been misled. I know if I was him this morning, I'd be feeling mightily peeved. And he has only been here a month, he'll be a basket case by the summer.
