Sorry Beanie, i read it teamtalks paper talk, and it was mentioned that we are looking to sign some Australian striker. Could have been one of Nickos storys, as it was from the Daily Mirror

Blackburn are hoping to snap up

Australian striker Dimitri Petratos.

yeah its somebody Shebby wants us to sign.

personally only Appleton should be making signings not SS.

hopefully we will not sign any more players on his recomendation. most of those in the summer were awful. only Nunes looks good.

I looked up that Aussie on Wikipedia and it smells of Shebby trying to sign a player again. He should have no interference in these matters.

according to the petratos wiki page(!), he and another player (Faizol Nazlin) have signed on a months loan/trial, it also says petratos is another attacking midfielder/2nd striker(haven't we just culled a load of them!!!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitri_Petratos

theres a full article from goal.com about the deal here it also says Kelantan FA (the top-hahaha Malaysian club) is hoping to set up a partnership with rovers, it does smell very much of owd shebby no-nowt, at least it keeps him away from ewood though.

Are you mental?

it may not be shebby but in this case logic says it most likely is, also reports say their only coming in to train with the club, which again very much smells of shebster and ive not even criticized shebby or the players over the deal/arrangment here(they may very well be decent), not poop stirring so wind your neck in a little tough guy.

You can smell it, you say? I didn't really believe it but now I'm not so sure.

I guess when our football club is such a pantomime, there has to be a villain...

Even if shebby is involved, a trial will be assessed by the manager and his coaches. What's the problem?

Also you'd assume anyone coming in (via shebby or not) would be vetted to some extent by scouts and our head of recruitment?

Certainly could be a Shebby's recommendation (considering the malaysian link) but could also be a recommendation by Emerton who played alongside him last Season, anyway the guy who orchestrated his move away from Sydney FC is agent James Hardy http://jameshardy.net.au/ operates in Aus and the far east so no links to he who can not be named yet :).

must admit didn't really stand out in the Sydney games i saw , so can't really comment good or bad think Sydney supporters disapointed when his move was arranged here's a vid i found on youtube

Edit ; the 442 link is interesting , sounds a fiery little bugger after a training ground bust up http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/260003,petratos-set-for-england-trial.aspx

bp already beat you to it pb.

just seen it in the Appleton thread - oops

Anyway the guy who is coming along with the players while they are on trial is from this lot http://bumibolasports.com/ http://bumibolainternational.com/ as well as looking after players they do a lot of brand awareness in the Asian markets, could this be the start of the domination of the Asian market that the V's promised , wouldn't bet my house on it personally.

here's a facebook page with a few pics of them arriving looking a bit cold :) including one for the Singh out club https://www.facebook.com/theredwarriorsofficial , Looks like their Chairman or whoever is in charge at the club they are from is expecting them back for the start of the Asian cup in March so could be a Venky's PR exercise getting them over

Yep see no harm in trials, as long as manager has final say.

Got Samba and Nelsen that way.

Better than signing them (eg portugesers) and finding they are rubbish.

Also a work permit could be a problem as not a full international

Its indeed very important to get Thomas in. I think DJ Campbell would be a useful addition to the squad.

Lee Williamsson will probably sign too.

DOes the loan emergency window opens today?

Maybe we can get Odemwingie in on loan until end of season if Thomas move fails? I do believe Odemwingie can play on the wing.

I've heard Odemwingie is off to Palace on loan.

Edinho off to India

He was truly terrible

And Paulo Jorge gone to Bulgaria. Slowly getting rid of the Portuguese lot! I'm guessing all of them will be gone by the start of next season.

Hopefully this will help curb fears that Shebby is still sticking his ore in. If he was then I'm sure this bunch wouldn't be getting moved on so easily.
