Kelbo Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Sensible words 11 - we cant afford players needing to get up to speed, we need people to be able to come in and have an impact, Campbell did last week and made a difference.

AJW Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 i thought WBA were reluctant to loan him now , we'd agreed a fee but because we couldnt get it done and the Odemwingie/Hoillet deal didnt go through , a loan deal for Thomas has been scuppered , he's a free agent in summer so it could be sense that Bentley comes in now till end of season when we can have Thomas for nowt
den Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 On the other hand, if it's a loan with a view to buy, then Bentley for me. Far greater talent and younger.
OJRovers Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Is Thomas left wing or right wing? I would be happy with Bentley or Thomas to add to the very weak areas of the squad (left wing/right wing).
neophox Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Well, it seems WBA injury problems has eased and Mulumbu is back after african nations so rovers11 could be right, and also Thomas is a doubt for todays game suffering flu, but maybe he's due at rovers? I would like to see Both Bentley and Thomas at Ewood. Bentley could be good in central midfeld.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 11, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted February 11, 2013 Is Thomas left wing or right wing? I would be happy with Bentley or Thomas to add to the very weak areas of the squad (left wing/right wing). I've seen him play on the left side by and large. But he is right footed, so presumably he could play there also.
cravenblue Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Speaking to a baggies fan this morn. Says thomas can play on either wing and that he would be a loss to them if he went
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 On the other hand, if it's a loan with a view to buy, then Bentley for me. Far greater talent and younger. Agreed. If Bentley can still cross a ball it puts him over Thomas, even though Thomas has more pace. We need more of that end product and Bentley would give you that.
Plastics Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 How did Bentley do overseas? I didn't keep track. All I know is he made 7 appearances without a goal, but that's not enough to form any opinion.
danger19_80 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Wolves in advanced talks for Gorkss. We should be all over this imo. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2013/02/11/wolves-line-up-loan-of-readings-kaspars-gorkss/
rovers_rob Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 If it was a choice between Bentley and Thomas I think I would go for Thomas but why not get both if we can ? Its obvious that MA doesn't rate most of the players on the bench so if we can get rid of either Goodwillie or Nuno Gomes then I think Bentley would be a good option from the bench.
neophox Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 not much fancy dances left.... Nuno Gomes is hard working thats why he's here and Fabio Nunes is a true left winger...
LeChuck Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 not much fancy dances left.... Nuno Gomes is hard working thats why he's here and Fabio Nunes is a true left winger... Nuno Gomes has been told he can go out on loan. I imagine Nunes will be going shortly, he's behind Markus, Pedersen and King already. If we sign more wide players he'll be a goner.

It'd be wrong to upset Dann and Hanley are our recent run of clean sheets. Whilst Givet remains at the club we probably don't need another defender anyway. It would be helpful if he'd bugger off!

He will probably go to Wolves because he will walk straight into the starting line up. ......LeChuck just beat me to it ! agree with everything you said.

Whilst Givet remains at the club we probably don't need another defender anyway. It would be helpful if he'd bugger off! I see it differently. Even if Givet stays we need one more CD. There is a lot of matches ahead. Hanley´s body especially will have a hard test if he plays every match left. Givet can cover left side also. Sad to make to the play offs but lose there because squad is too small.
Plastics Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Which is why it will depend on the player and whether he wants first team football or not.

rovers11 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 According to Cryer, we are after Gorkks, Thomas AND Bentley. Hope to have one in by tomorrows game. Im not sure what the cut off point for tomorrows game is.
Backroom Tom Posted February 11, 2013 Author Backroom Posted February 11, 2013 As an aside, young Anton Forrestor scored two tonight as the under 21s beat Chelsea 2-1
