EgyptianPete Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Alex MacLeish has gone, at least he beats Berg by a few days.

m1st Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 So did I! Is this another case of a club's owners not realising what they have bought and how to manage it?
Backroom DE. Posted February 5, 2013 Backroom Posted February 5, 2013 Certainly looks like they're taking advice from the Venky's.
John Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Venky's have rivals - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2273813/Nottingham-Forest-rivalling-Blackburn-managerial-madness-Alex-McLeish-departure.html
MarkBRFC Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Be Interesting to see what the Forest fans do in protest to there owners (if it gets that far). Will half there fanbase disapear or will they turn up and give there owners hell?
CapeTownRover Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Thank goodness, at least Venkys have a friend now
Stuart Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Be Interesting to see what the Forest fans do in protest to there owners (if it gets that far). Will half there fanbase disapear or will they turn up and give there owners hell? It'd be interesting to understand how popular McLeish was with the fans before expecting a reaction. From the (admittedly few) sound bites I heard he didn't seem anyone's preferred choice.
Backroom DE. Posted February 5, 2013 Backroom Posted February 5, 2013 McLeish has become a bit of a Megson... nobody wants him at their club despite a fairly lengthily managerial record.
Amo Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 While not Kean for Allardyce madness, what was the point of sacking O'Driscoll (who had them within touching distance of the playoffs) for someone like Mcleish? You can sort of understand when foreign owners get starry-eyed for a continental import but...'Big Eck'?
The Rover of Finland Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Venky's have rivals - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2273813/Nottingham-Forest-rivalling-Blackburn-managerial-madness-Alex-McLeish-departure.html They even look like as idiots as the Raos.
CapeTownRover Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 What the Eck Toppers lol It will be interesting to see, who they bring in as a replacement. It will also indicate, if they are already planning for next season. I think this a role for a Curbishley or even a Hoddle type appointment. Then again, i wouldnt be surprised if Steve Umbrella ella ella McClaren rocks up there
chaddyrovers Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 No way would Curbs or Hoddle and defo a no from Steve McClaren to the notts forest jod. Hoddle was interview for the job in the summer but turned it down when offer it. Steve McClaren is managing FC Twente in Holland. I expect someone like Sven to be interest in the job or a head coach role for the new guy with the owners and a director of football buying the players
darrenrover Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Stevie should be a shoe in. What with all his experience and positivity. Not the one with the brolly though!
Ianrally Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Foreign owners who know nothing about running a British football club. Get rid of some long standing experienced back room staff. Sack a relatively successful manager and replace him with a recent unsuccessful one. This job is made for the bald headed kean.
The Rover of Finland Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Does anyone know if Forest fans were judging us for protesting against the owners and manager? Or was it just media?
CrazyIvan Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Forests owners are making a rod for their own back aren't they? Venky's are still worse by virtue of relegating Rovers but sacking O'Driscoll and appointing Eck was a catastrophe. IMO anyone appointing Eck is in for a rough ride, his managerial record is pretty woeful recently.
Plastics Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 They even look like as idiots as the Raos. Asian, you mean?
Sparky Marky Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Forests owners are making a rod for their own back aren't they? Guest Norbert Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 McLeish was a bad appointment. He was like McClaren, or Venables when he was at Leeds. Yesterday's man, with outmoded tactics and no drive. Billy Davies is odds on as I write, with the Kuwaiti manager Goran Tufegdzic (who?) and the owner himself outsiders! For the record Steve Kean is either 33/1 or 66/1. So it sounds like they're seen by the bookies as mad as Venky's.
Baz Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 The forest owners havent been there 12 months yet, so still relatively early days. Not a great start admittedly, but Venkys still out in front at moment.
CrazyIvan Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 At least mcleish has integrity. He does have that. He's just a crap manager (now). Compare and contrast Eck with Kean.
Sparky Marky Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 He does have that. He's just a crap manager (now). Compare and contrast Eck with Kean. Mcleish has a few quid so he walks...kean is a pez so hangs on, to the death....
rickard Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 If this was our club, they'd probably blame the fans for this...
USABlue Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Thank goodness, at least Venkys have a friend now As long as they don't try do out do them in a weird we are the worst sort of competition.
