adopted scouser Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Anything you use all the time and couldn't do without ? I've had one of these for over ten tears, use it most days and only use pans when I do a roast ! Cost me £90 back then, worth every penny.

Plastics Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Gadgets wise my iPod and Kindle. Got well over a hundred days of music, podcasts and audiobooks on the iPod and about 200 books on the Kindle. That, combined with my mind would mean I'd not go crazy if I had to spend a few months alone, providing I had an occasional power supply.

adopted scouser Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 My ipod and iphone5, don't know what i'd do without them What the hell is that? A counter top cooker, use it all the time
T.J.Newton Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 My (sony walkman)mp3 player is probably the most used gadget I have after my laptop and mobile, Without my mp3 player at work, id actually have to listen to the brain damage inducing rubbish the supervisors/managers and general gobs#### had to say! A counter top cooker, use it all the time I'm still none the wiser, does this really exist or is it a hoax? Surely everyone would have one!
adopted scouser Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 English breakfast is a breeze. Chuck it all on there, bacon tomatoes hash brown (from frozen) spam, all cooked perfectly and crispy (not like a microwave). Plus all the muck drips onto the tray below

adopted scouser Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 It just seems very wrong, where does the heat come from? Grill in the dome plus a fan, and it uses infra red > http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nu-Wave-Oven-Pro/dp/B0009RP87O
T.J.Newton Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Other than that you normally have to pre-heat a gas/electric oven(only takes 10 minutes), I don't see how its any better(unless you don't have space for an oven) or easier to clean, when using the oven I normally fit all i'm cooking onto 1 oven tray(so just one thing to clean) and most importantly i doubt you can fit a frozen pizza into that. it is a nice gadget though.
LeChuck Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Grill in the dome plus a fan, and it uses infra red > http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nu-Wave-Oven-Pro/dp/B0009RP87O Does it cook thoroughly if you put loads of stuff in? I've got a halogen oven but it does work more like a grill in reality. If I try to do pizza then the base is always a bit underdone. If I put quite a lot of stuff in there the bottom stuff will barely warm up.

No complaints here, I don't bake or anything but you can cook stuff straight out of the freezer
T.J.Newton Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 My Logitech Harmony555 universal remote is a bit of a forgotten hero in my home, without it id be juggling at least 6 remotes, havnt found a single device(old or new) that it cant control, cost about £50 5-6 years ago but been worth every penny. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Harmony-Universal-Remote-Control/dp/B000FTOOKS
Plastics Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Haha, you'd have to put your tv on your things you couldn't live without if you're going stick a remote on it.
T.J.Newton Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Haha, you'd have to put your tv on your things you couldn't live without if you're going stick a remote on it. I just assumed tv, dvd/blue ray player, sky/cable/Freeview box was just a given(more parts of the furniture than gadgets!)
Plastics Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Do you need the physical copy or will online suffice?
Andy Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Definitely my tv. Big, HD, flatscreen-y type thing.
jim mk2 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Do you need the physical copy or will online suffice? Proper inky newspapers...the ones that keep journalists in jobs.
Plastics Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Proper inky newspapers...the ones that keep journalists in jobs. And damage the environment Positives and negatives.
jim mk2 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I cannot think of many things more damaging to the environment than plastics. I like the feel and look of a newspaper, and I like to hold it in my hand. I enjoy looking at the layout and design. If / when newspapers no longer exist I will not read the online versions.

(One tablespoon of oil cooks chips for 4 and meat bastes itself and leaves any fat in the bottom.)
T.J.Newton Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Daily newspapers. Love 'em. really! I wouldn't wipe my behind on one, there completely irrelevant bs comics.
Amo Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 really! I wouldn't wipe my behind on one, there completely irrelevant bs comics. Newspapers are nothing but another form of thought control by TPTB.
